As accor members for many years it was worse experience we have had. On arrival Swipe cards did not work,had to ask for our complimentary drink vouchers, No water in room, lift did not work on several occasions, no offer to help with bags on checkout.Ended up paying for complimentary upgrade, insisted we had lunch, we did not. Extremely rude man at desk, would not be tolerated at any other hotel or business. Wish we had heard earlier from locals that this hotel had a bad reputation. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

This was the first time our 4-year old daughter stayed with us in a hotel room with two double beds and she absolutely loved it. Especially the special attention that was given to her sleeping toy who got his own "blanket" from the housekeeping team after the first night. When the towel turned into an elephant on the last night she was even more delighted.

We were very satisfied with the room amenities and service provided. Clean, warm room which was very quiet. The location of the hotel made our Queenstown stay super easy with a short walk home after being out for the day as close to the drop of pick up point for the tours and restaurants. Friendly staff which were always so helpful and smiley.

We were disappointed initially to find when we arrived that the car park was full, and we had to take the car elsewhere. We were told there would probably be a car park the next day, we decided to leave it where it was. However that was our only concern as our two night stay was excellent. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was most enjoyable.We enjoyed a lovely Evening meal in your restaurant. All the staff were friendly and we would definitely stay again.

We are frequent customers of Novotel. I requested for a free upgrade to a Lake side view room but got a room overseeing a stream inspite of sending several messages. It was not peak period. We had 4 people in the room and towels and amenities were only for 2. I had to make frequent requests for additional towels and amenities. We stayed 3 nights and the buffet breakfast menu was the same. Rooms are dated and need upgrading. However thank you for early check-in.

Dear Farha Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Queenstown Lakeside. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations in some areas. At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We acknowledge your comments about not having enough amenities in the room and you are correct that when there are more people in the room then this should automatically be catered for without having to ask - we are sorry that this was the case. In regards to upgrades while the hotel may not have been full we only have 35 rooms on the lakeside with 8 of these being on the top floor and these are popular with guests. Priority is given to those that book and pay for them and our Elite Loyalty Members that stay often. You booked an entry level standard room so there are a couple of categories between this and Lakeside - I do see that the team may have had a couple of rooms that they offered to you at $50 - the upgrade is normally between $80 and $100 so clearly they did offer this to you at a discounted price. Thanks for your feedback on the buffet - with the range of options that we do offer on the buffet the content is not changed every day and we are sorry if you were not able to find items to your liking - we do normally have a few other items but with less International guests from Covid we have reduced some of these. Happy to take your feedback on board. The 2% credit card surcharge is standard in most hotels and throughout AccorHotels - it helps to offset the 3-5% plus other fees that the Credit Card companies charge. People do choose to use Debit and Eftpos to pay and you are correct that most people these days are choosing not to carry cash. Great to hear you got your early check in and we hope that you enjoyed your time in Queenstown. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future. Thanks Jim Moore General Manager

Dear Clare Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Queenstown Lakeside. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; in some areas. At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We acknowledge your comments about breakfast and apologise if you felt it was chaotic - the numbers in school holidays were at record levels for us. The day you were in was almost as busy as it has ever been and the following day we actually set a record at over 500 guests accommodated. We understand it should not be your issue but the question did say "Taking into account the reduced level of service or choice that you may have experienced in the current conditions" With this number of people even under normal circumstances in a restaurant that seats 160 people it is going to be "busy" - this combined with the fact that through Covid we are now down 30 staff and following ski season will need to reduce more to survive are all having some impact although we are working to try not to let it impact on the service given. Again this should not be your issue and we apologise for any inconvenience. We continue to work with our Owners who were about to embark on a major refurbishment of the building which was to include the demolition of some of the hotel and rebuild but with Covid these plans are being relooked at to do a nice makeover of the property - in the meantime if you are coming back the rooms on the top floor are more modern as they were built new a few years back. The carpets in the lobby were replaced yesterday - ideally this would have been done earlier in the year but the carpet got stuck in delivery and again the current situation delayed laying - they look great and we will continue to look for enhancements we can do while we wait for the major works to happen. We do hope that you enjoyed Queenstown and will want to come back. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Thanks Jim Moore General Manager

We seriously had the best customer service at your Hotel and we thank you so much for this! we had some product delivered to the reception area for collection and we couldn't find it at the time. Your staff went to amazing lengths to find it for us (turns out it was in the kitchen!". They also loaded our campervan for us with our luggage and nothing was too hard or inconvenient for them. Thanks team!
