The bar/lounge area is very cold due to large glass walls without double glazing. One had to wear coat and hat evenings.

We acknowledge your comments about being cold - you are correct the amount of glass in this area does make it difficult to maintain heat and make sure that the area is comfortable. Very cold Hotel area and rooms. Old air conditioning system could not keep up with -2 degree Celsius outside.

Dear Mike Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Queenstown Lakeside. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations in some areas. At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We acknowledge your comments about being cold - in general the rooms with individual heat pumps when used correctly should cope with the temperatures that we have had. The public areas with a lot of glass do some times take some adjustments to get right and when any doors to the lobby get opened and left open the heat soon disappears. I will discuss with my Engineer whether there have been any issues as normally we can maintain a reasonable temperature. We are sorry if you were uncomfortable. On a positive it was good to see that you enjoyed breakfast and that our team looked after you well. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Thanks Jim Moore General Manager

Had a good comfortable nights sleep but was nervous about buffet breakfast next morning under current climate -

Everything was of a high standard, efficient service and for one travelling alone it was friendly. I extended my stay due to how comfortable I felt. I would certainly return. The position right in the centre of the town is perfect.

Had booked to go down to the winter fest (unfortunately cancelled due to COVID) loved the welcome at reception, the room with great view and the vicinity to town, walking distance to everything you need for a great relaxing working. Had a great dinner in the restaurant I can highly recommend the steak.

The room was warm .. Clean and well presented. Could do with a few cosmetic changes.. as in new cushions on the couches and the metal goodnight ordainment on the bed really needs to go... that a little dated .. but all and all everyone was lovely friendly... the room was nice. I we did appreciated the upgrade.

old and dated, small room, not what we expected. Departed after only 1 night and went elswhere. Would not stay again or recommend. Service better than room but only average. Valet expensive and inexpdrkenced.

I am sorry to hear your experience in our guest rooms did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We acknowledge your comment about car parking and your experience, as we are located in the city center paying for parking is not that unusual in Hotels - we look to recover the costs of providing this service as it is a direct cost to us as we use a car park facility. We try to keep the cost down as much as we can. If you were to park in Wilson car park it would cost a minimum of $ 48 for 12 hours or street parking will cost $4/ hour There are some other options available to guests that do not wish to pay but our belief is that our guests are better served by the services that we offer in terms of security and convenience. We are sorry that you were not satisfied by this. We were in the planning for an extensive refurbishment and have engaged with an Architect which is requiring considerable time in the planning. Our aim is to do our best to ensure our staff are friendly and look after our guests and that we keep the hotel clean and as well maintained as possible - we are working on a number of projects to do what we can while await these works. These have included new large screen smart TVs with 50+ channels of Sky, New WIFi system, new Spa, New beds in most rooms with the remainder being completed soon, new feather bed toppers, blankets and pillows, alarm clocks and a number of other projects that we have completed or are working on. If you planning another trip to Queenstown in the future, the rooms on the 4th floor are more modern as they were added new a few years ago. We would like to offer you a complimentary upgrade where possible so you can experience our superior rooms. Sincerely, Atif Khan Executive Assistant Manager

Breakfast service terrible. On our 2nd day for breakfast, 3/4 hour wait for a continental to arrive, A number of people came into the Restaurant, ordered cooked breakfasts, were served, then consumed and gone before ours arrived. I had to ask the girl, Have you forgotten us???.

From what you have said it does appear as if there was a breakdown in our systems as you should have received service in the restaurant at the same level as any other guest. This has been discussed with the team and is a reminder that consistency is so important in being able to look after our guests - we are very sorry that you were impacted in this way. It is not an excuse but our breakfast operations have had to change a lot with Covid 19 and also a lack of some staffing in areas but we have been working on this to ensure that this does not impact guests as we move forward. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault the location. Only small niggly things I would change: Shower layout is poorly designed which meant the bathroom flooded Bathroom tap leaked There was no 'about your stay' information which you would normally find in a hotel room (like me where to find the pool, how to check out, valet services, room service etc.) Each time we had our vehicle brought around by the valet, they had changed the settings on the radio. Bar downstairs ceiling was leaking. Other than that we had a great stay!
