Great two night stay at the Sofitel Bayerpost in Munich. We have been spoiled in this cosy, design SO Sofitel hotel. One among the best with Vienna and Singapore. The pool and Sauna were fortunately reopened. Breakfast is served at the table, instead of the great Buffet but food and service were great.

Nice room and bathroom but disappointed a "king" bed was two separate mattresses and duvets

The hotel and its staff are excellent. We were particularly pleased with the sanitary measures put in place in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and that allowed us to feel more at ease during our stay. One unfortunate incident happened during breakfast on Sunday which was busier than the other days. The staff were clearly overwhelmed and service was slow and somewhat lacking. The food was very good and on other days service was of excellent standard.

The check-in was cold and distant, I did get the rooms manager involved, who helped the situation. The room was OK, with a terrible view and everything in the hotel required me to follow up more than a few times and I always had to go to the reception to ask as no one was manning the phones. It’s possible the hotel is understaffed during the virus so that is understandable, but the with the room prices almost the same as it was at the start if the year, it just did not make any sense. Totally unimpressed and never coming back

My husband and I stayed in the Sofitel in Munich for 2 nights. For a 5-star hotel, we were extremely underwhelmed. There were not enough towels, robes, hangers, etc. in the room (we were only 2 people) and when we called the concierge to ask, the staff cited COVID as the reason, however I have no idea why only 1 robe for 2 people has anything to do with COVID. The bar was closed the entire time, although the spa with sauna was open. There was never any kind of turndown service and our room was never cleaned the entire time. I understand there are different procedures and limitations in place due to COVID, but citing COVID for some things and not for others seemed inconsistent and only done for convenience.

I have stayed at Bayerpost before and so far I was always highly satisfied. However, As i told your front office staff, this time the experience was very disappointing I did not expect to be placed - at a time when I thought that every business traveller is in high demand - in a room without outside window And I was not even told beforehand that the room would not have an outside window

Solid hotel and staff were nice, but overall service levels were very much reduced (I assume due to Covid) and we experienced re-occurring quality problems - room key failed to work for an entire day, room was not properly cleaned with garbage bags not emptied, and in the end, a luggage item that we left behind was never found again. I understand service levels and facilities can not be maintained at the same level during difficult times, but we paid a fairly premium price for what felt like a three star experience.

Nice experience overall, nice duplex suite. Housekeeping however was not up to the standard of the hotel. Every day something was missing in the room (coffee, sugar, shampoo, etc...), which is boring when you want to relax after a long day of visits and tours.

The hotel is well decorated and the stuff was very friendly at all times. Unfortunately, we booked the hotel because online it said that it had a pool and a spa but upon arrival the receptionist revealed to us that it is closed. I also emailed the hotel in advance to book a spa appointment and never received a reply. The hotel has to inform their customers at least about the current situation at the hotel. The whole purpose of us traveling and choosing a five star hotel like the Sofitel was for the services the claim to provide but they didn't. We also included breakfast in our hotel reservation. The fact that the hotel does not provide little things like yogurts for lactose intolerant guests is not nice star quality. At this point every four star hotel offers several different possibilities to comfort their guests needs. At few occasion we asked for something like a tea (e.g. the one which was called Morgentau) and they told us that they would not have it anymore. This cannot happen two days in a row at a hotel in this price category. In the very end of our stay when the receptionist asked about our stay I told her about the good but also about the bad aspects and she did not even try to make up for it. I am used to a better service than this for sure. I am not sure if I will go back to be honest... it was supposed to be a special trip for my mother and in the end this was pretty disappointing.
