Top Hotel with poor service and failing infrastructure

The hotel location is great. Checked in online which did nothing to expedite my actual check-in. Agent seemed confused, couldn't find online records, stated that they were not yet able to seamlessly integrate the online check-in. Needed most of my information again, had trouble with the pre-authorization of my credit card, consumed 20 minutes time to check in while people were waiting in line. Room was nice, but air conditioning did not work. How can a big hotel like yours not have functioning AC? There was a note in the room that due to lack of service staff, there was no maid service or room service amenities. We should retrieve amenities ourselves from the front desk, e.g., towels, toilet papers. Not acceptable option for a Pullman hotel. My colleagues staying there also had no AC in their rooms. Breakfast for 18 Euros after all the other troubles was just the tipping point that made the whole stay very unpleasant.

Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. I would like to take this opportunity to respond to your points: Unfortunately, there are actual systemic challenges with the transmission of the online check-in data. The Accor IT department is already in the process of finding an acceptable solution. We apologize for the delay in check-in. Due to the renovation of the rooms and the fine dust that has settled in the air-conditioning units, there are failures in one or the other room. We ourselves are waiting for weeks for technicians to flush and repair the fan coils. Unfortunately, there is also a shortage of skilled workers and the waiting times are long. With short-term absences due to illness in housekeeping and few staff in the other areas, unfortunately no solution was possible regarding guest items. I really regret this. We are working flat out to find a solution soon so that we can offer our standard as usual. Arrived late on Saturday evening and was informed that I had not paid for the room which was not the case. Took two days for them to confirm that I had. On Sunday they could not clean the room due to staff issues. When they did clean the room on Monday they did not change the towels. Went down twice to ask for towels but nothing sent. On Tuesday I had to ask for the room to be cleaned at 4pm which they did. Rooms are good but AC is a noisy. Some staff are very friendly and helpful but others were pretty rude. The hotel is in a good location near the train station and some good restaurants nearby. I always ask myself if I would stay in the hotel again, I’m afraid the answer would be a no.

The hotel is very conveniently placed for S Bahn, U Bahn and bus, both for the airport and going into Stuttgart city centre. The original room we were given didn't have a working fridge which we required to keep medication in and the air conditioning whilst making noise didn't appear to be working. The staff at reception were very helpful and happy to help solve these problems. The new room we were moved to was very nice, clean and in working order.

bad airco but nice room

We arrived late at night. Parking was easily accessible and there was enough space. Although there were no trolleys or anything else to take the luggage upstairs so we had to go back and forth a few times. Room was new and modern. AIRCO WAS NOT WORKING. I complained about this and they said it’s limited by the hotel and you can’t turn it up and down. I have breathing problems and pollen allergies so I couldn’t just open the window. It was very hard to breathe also because the room was quite dusty. Bathroom was really clean and the room was spacious. It’s okay for 1 night but in the summer with no regular airco it’s very humid. There was no food available to order and they didn’t tell us anything about breakfast when we arrived and when we tried to order room service they said it wasn’t available due to corona. I went downstairs to grab breakfast to go and the lady was extremely rude and thought I was lying about the hotel not telling me about breakfast and me calling downstairs and the instructions I was given. But this kind of behaviour is very common from Germans @ foreigners. Man at the front desk was nice when checking out and he explained everything to me.

Once again the checkin process at an Accor hotel was repetitive and frustrating. No matter how much information you provide when you check in online you have to repeat it in writing in order to get your key card. This is true for all Accor stays we had during our 70 days of travel in Germany. This particular stay ended at 4 am because the room was unbearably hot, air conditioning didn't make a difference and opening the window invited the loud noise of the trains and drunks that took them. Couldn't sleep so we packed up and left before the breakfast we paid for. Never again the Pullman and probably reconsider booking an Accor property for our next travel plans.
