Had 8 hours to waste before going out wasn’t many channels on the tv to watch in that time, bed was very creeky when sitting on it. Was very muggy in the room even with the window open. Due to come back in October hoping for a better experience

The room was clean, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was great and the bar was open late. For the price you can't really argue with that. Considering there were only three groups in front of us in the check-in queue, taking 40 minutes was shocking.

Good as always but the soap dispenser in the shower was empty and couldn't switch the TV to hdmi source which I usually have no problem with.

IN MOST RESPECTS VERY GOOD. JUST WISH THE YOUNGSTERS WERE PUT ON LOWER FLOORS SO THAT THEY DO NOT WAKE GUESTS UP AS THEY COME IN FROM A GOOD NIGHT OUT CHATTERING AND SHOUTING. THEY HAVE HAD A FEW DRINKS AND DO NOT MEAN ANY HARM BUT NOISE DOES CARRY DOWN THE CORRIDORS. i DO NOT BEGRUDGE THEM A GOOD NIGHT OUT BUT BEING RELATIVELY OLD NEED MY SLEEP.

Room adequate clean with comfortable bed. Bathroom a little jaded and ready for refurbishment. A few minutes walk from station and town centre so perfect location as we were using this a a base for walking part of the Thames path and needed access to buses and trains each day

Very centrally located on Reading

As a disabled client, and it being our first time to Reading, we found the parking situation a bit of a nightmare. Eventually gave up looking for long term parking and parked at the nearest disabled 4 hour parking bay. This resulted in a longer walk than I would have liked with our luggage. Check in was very smooth and we were welcomed by a lovely young lady who was very helpful. Nice to see hand sanitising stations appropriately positioned around the communal areas. Our receptionist gave us information on longer term parking, please note though this may cause difficulties for other disabled guests because of its distance from the hotel. Our room was adequate for our stay but the bathroom step up to get into it was something to being mindful of. We chose to have breakfast in the hotel and that really did not disappoint. It was excellent a good choice of food, it was fresh and the cooked items were lovely and hot. Staff in the restaurant were lovely and a credit to the hotel. It certainly set us up for the day. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. However there was definitely room for improvement in my view. Areas that could do with further attention, were skirting board level dust traps where there were ledges created by the design of the room, back of the toilet area where mouldings joined and something food based had been spilt on the side of the bedframe and onto the floor, both of which could have been easily cleaned off. Despite these minor issues should we have cause to be in Reading for a short stay again the IBIS would be a hotel we would consider using again.

Ibis Reading - great staff, poor hotel

When I arrived (late, but I’d told Accor about that on the booking), all 3 reception staff could not find my booking (despite me having a printout of it) - they blamed “Central Bookings” (Accor.com) - well I have news for you, that’s another part of your own company!! They eventually gave me a new room but after a significant delay. Upon entering my room, it was awful - the window didn’t shut properly so I got all the noise from the revellers outside, the air conditioning didn’t work at all and the shower was in need of a new pump or something... I was too tired after a very long day to go downstairs and complain... All in all, a very poor stay!
