I spend 3 nights here, and I was delighted with the Super sweet and welcoming staff. Yummy food, and most importantly in theses times Super clean rooms and facilities. Important to know beforehand that there is no access to the pool however you can still use the gym. So all in all great

We booked this hotel for the parking. This later when the reservation was done you found out you need to book it. It was all full. Coming to the hotel you are let by a rather rude and unhelpful receptionist. We were informed you need to leave the breakfast at 9:30 due to covid so you can't say anything about that. BUT it was not stated when you made the booking. This was the day after new years so. The room was spacious (we paid more for that so) and a nice view.

We arrived exhausted from a long haul flight and business trip from Asia to Barcelona seeking refuge at the Novotel Barcelona. As we entered the hotel, there was no one helping us with the 4 suitcases we had and extra luggage. The receptionist greeted us with a lacklustre "hello" and proceeded to explain to us the regulations, quickly rushing through the details in a nervous and military tone, as if she was reading out a protocol in an army barracks. No "welcome to the hotel", no kindness, smiles cost extra. You could see she couldn't wait to get out of there and go home. When asked to repeat the information she hurriedly ranted through, she was visibly annoyed, as if her body language was saying "haven't you understood, stupid?". A ticket clerk at the railway station was friendlier. Not very pleasant, to say the least, especially after the great experience we had in Dubai staying at the Mercure, where people were very helpful and compassionate. After giving us the keys, she informed us that there was nothing in the mini bar in one of the rooms so she upgraded one of us to a superior room. This didn't make sense at all, as we both booked the same room time, which was executive with a view and in both rooms there were mini bars and amenities advertised when we booked online. Otherwise, we would not have booked. After shlepping up all the suitcases ourselves to the room (no trolley given) and unpacking, room 1525 had nothing in its mini bar or fridge but had a kettle, yet no tea or coffee. Tea had to be requested from the reception together with pretty much everything else, no mugs, no glasses, no cutlery...made us wonder, why install a kettle and then not provide any mugs or cups? Upon asking for mugs and for an extra kettle for the second room we booked, we were brought mugs but no second kettle. Upon our return from a brief walk, we asked the receptionist if the second kettle had been delivered to the second room, she shunted it off saying "yes, of course". We went up, needless to say, there was no kettle. So we had to call again, ask again for something that was meant to be there in the first place. Is that so much to ask in a 4 ****star hotel, especially with such low occupancy rates? The automatic blind for the window in the room 1515 was completely ripped on the side, making it almost impossible to wind down, in effect useless. In the bathroom, the water literally streamed out of the tub when taking a shower, flooding the entire bathroom all the way out to the room. It seemed to be an issue that had apparently never been addressed or fixed, as the wooden frame of the bathroom door had already begun to decompose on the bottom from all the water that must have leaked out there, every time someone took a shower in the room. All in all, not impressed at all by the somber and ungracious treatment we received, will not be staying there again for business, nor will I be recommending the hotel to my associates as I don't want them to be subjected to this kind of treatment.

The lady that received me the first day was lovely and she explained the hotel and services very well. Tried to help me out with an issue i had with my computer. I am not sure if its about the country difference but in Australia I used to have a room upgrade or a complementary gift on my arrival, not at this hotel. The person at teh reception that was there at night was not very professional. Overall it was a good stay but it have a loot of room for improvement.
