Location ✅ Rooms ✅ Staff ✅ Terrace Bar ✅ Pool …. Ok but not for kids But please please please get the card readers in the lift fixed! The amount of times we had to go back to reception but it wasn’t the cards. Every guest we met in lift had same experience So don’t let something so trivial ruin a really good hotel experience But would recommend 👍🏻

Nice, centrally located hotel. Rooftop pool is good. Check-in went quick and the friendly receptionist, Mauro, gave good advice on the restaurants and some sightseeing tips. Breakfast was sufficient/good. Would come here again.

Avoid this hotel, This hotel has lot of problems specially for geust that are planning to stay longer than 3 dyas. Please read it till the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all the problems started before whe arrived with this hotel. Whe booked suite with an early checkin and sended an email with the question from wich time whe can checkin while whe booked an early checkin. Whe got an email back from manuela wich she didnt chekced my booking at all even i sended their my booking nr. She reply’s that early checkin is upon availability. After sending a mail back she says sorry about the misunderstanding because i have already booked the early checking, she just didnt checked my personal details before sending a email back. The next few days i sended a email again about taxi’s etc….and mosts email wont get answered. The days whe arrived in our suite. Huge leaking in the shower. Molt is growing on the wet carpet. Whe have reported this at least 4/5 times and only 2 times they taken action, ask this to the housekeepers and even they told me that they reported it many times. Whe are just suprised that they told us that the hotel staff isnt listen to them!. They just ingnore it in most cases. Guesst are not always able to use the swimming pool while you payed for the hotel as a guest becasue companies have to constantly rent the pool so that guests can't use it, especially in the evenings. We also noticed that noise from the roof daily. almost every day there is a party going on on the roof with music which is no problem at all, only the music is on so loud that you can hear it in the rooms. almost every day there is a party going on on the roof. very bad for the people who want to get up early the next morning or have to go to work so that their sleep is disturbed by this. Keycards in the lift/elevator are not workin gprperly. When you insert the card to go up it wont work. It turns out lot of guests having this issue. I contact the front office in regards to the lunch for 21 september because whe needed to check out at 07:00 and wont make it with the breakfast so asked them what their options are. as if it couldn’t be whorse. 1 male young employee who says on the front office at 19 september at 06:30- in the morning "oooh no problem" i need to check with reservation departement you are a premium member , booked via our website, I can arrange for you to give you a refund for that day and having a take away breakfast isnt worth the money (in a verry rude and innoproriate way), seriously ? this is the way how you talk to your hotel guest ? the take away isnt worht it ??, asked for a confirmation email , he promised me to contact the reservation department and promise contact me to contact me at the end of the day but as expected nothing heard. End of the day i contacted the front office again and ofcourse i spoken to manueala, manuela told me its not possible to get a rufund wich is totally fine but how she know that ? without contacting reservation departement ? remember the email ? where she didnt think didnt check my booking details before sending an email. So who is telling the truth ? acording to manuela she told me that that young guy who promise me the refund didnt know that and he is still learning and unexperienced. this is irresponsible for a hotel to place someone at the reception who has no experience at all and there is no staff member who can check and or correct him. I decided to book a taxi for 21 september and waited when manuela whas not at the front desk to see what the other person is gonna say. When there whas another person behind the front desk i asked to book a taxi but he told me you can book a taxi one day before check out . I whasnt happy about how this how this childrens are behaving to me. So i decied to go to the front office next day, And gues what ? same problem. First of all i asked about the breakfast. The lady told me i see nothing in the computer. Second i asked them to book a taxi for 21 september at 07:00, she started an whole discusion in front of other guests about that i can grab a taxi on my own in front of the hotel while there whas no taxi that day and the only thing i whant is book a taxi to be 100% gaurantee that i got a taxi to the airport. After this discussion i whas done. I asked for the hotel manager, again whole discusion in front of other serveral hotel guests why i wanted to speak to the manager. Finally i spoken to the front desk manager, wich whas a verry nice manager who whas verry guest friendly!! and very respectful! After a nice convesation she promised me to sort this out. And gues whast ? suddenly they called me few times to change rooms so they can fix the shower, The front desk manager promised me to book a taxi for me and their will be a take a way breakfast for me at 21 september when check out. In the meantime when i took the lift to go back to my room i got questioned by serveral hotel guest what the problem whas. Ill explained them everythinf. In turns out hotel guests dont know how to complain and staff member wont give hotel gesust to speak to a hotel manager. Wich is verry bad! Hiding problems from a manager can be a serious problem on long term. Next day of checkout, according to the person behind the front desk he told me there is no taxi booked!! and told me you can take a taxi by your own. So after this whole situation i decided to grab a taxi by my own. I've been through a lot but this really beats it all. I have never experienced such a bad experience at such a well-known hotel chain even whe booked a suite and whe are premium member of accord hotel. First of all i whant to see what the reply is from novotel barcelona. If im not satisfied I will file a complaint with the head office of accord hotels in france with all the evidence including photos and emails. This hotel has a lot of opportunity’s to being a great hotel but the staff is clearly failing. Please sort this matter out instead of saying sorry the whole time on internet reviews. The make the whol story short. 1. The novotel staff at this hotel is verry unprofesional. Staff clearly doesnt know what they doing. It is one big mess. 2. As a hotel guest you can sort everything out by your own . 3. Suites are looking verry nice but the standard room are clearly outdated 4. Some of the staff are rude and doesnt whant to listen to the hotel guests 5. It would be nice if to make it easier for hotel guest in case of a problem of complain they can contact the hotel manager. The hotel manager doenst know everything what happens in front and the mistakes a made by the staff memebers 6. De commuinication between staff is extremely bad, some email got deleted by other staff memebers. 7. According to multiple staff members some of the staff are deleting email from each others, i wasnt suprise because this whas one of the reasson why whe not always got an answer via email. 8. Please listen to hotel guests instead debating in front of other guests, guests are paying a lot of money for their holiday wich got ruined by this kind of behaviour of staff memebers 9. Hotel Staff memebers are not reliable or be trusted, everything is promised and as follows, the hotel staff is not able to fulfill the requirement from hotel guests . 10. Pay 1 EURO for each luggage you want to weigh at the reception? and this is customer friendly? 11. Disgusting dirty windows 12. Proper hotel training for staff members . 13. In case of unexperience staff memeber at front desk need to be watched by a experience staff mamebers instead of put a unexperience staff memeber alone at nigh/morningt at the front desk/reception

The hotel was so disorganized. They did not even had water in the refrigerator. The cleaning u had to ask for otherwise they won’t do it. They stole my daughter flat iron. I asked while there and then called several time. They said they call, they never did. Do not stay in this hotel.

The security of our guests is something we take very seriously and I would like to assure you that we have launched a thorough investigation in order to locate your missing hair straightener. I would also like to let you know that this is a unheard situation for us. Our housekeeping staff is part of this team, for several years and we have total confidence in them as they on a regular basis, handle rooms with valuable belongings. Never the less I would like to assure you that we did everything within our power to find your belongings. We were hoping to be able to provide you with some more information, but after looking in the Lost & Found department, inquiring chambermaids and housekeeping staff, we have failed to locate your daughter´s flat iron. This is my second stay in novotel barcelona and maybe the worst one in my entire experience with novotel. During 4 days, i had to reactivate my room keys like 8 times (if not i cant use the lift to go up to my room). The front desk keeps accusing me that I deactivated the key with my cellphone, which was absolutely false. I have encountered so many guests who had the same problem in the lift and it is clearly the novotel system problem that you dont want to solve. Room carpet is the dirtiest in novotel chain that i have ever stayed. It should be steam cleaned or just renovated. Body wash gel bottle is so tiny for two people of one time shower. Why not install a big bottle on the wall like other novotel? I had to keep asking for the body wash gels from the front desk. When checking out, front desk wanted to charge me a drink in the mini bar that i have never even opened. The lady who wanted to refill the mini bar and cleaning ladies were rushing into the room to finish their work, without properly nocking on the door to check if there is anyone still in the room…Considering the price i paid. I am not happy this time.
