Poor quality Hotel

Very poor quality hotel, especially for the price of one night. $320 to stay in an extremely basic room, with dirty floors and a stained sheet. No water supplied, very small shower, won’t be staying again. The bed was comfortable at least, definitely only a “one night stay” place, but even then I won’t be staying there again even for one night

I was saddened to read that your room and the hotel itself was not up to expectations as while we are unable to deny the general condition of the room and hotel given its age, the hotel conducted a de-branding exercise last year by removing the Mercure brand and returning the hotel to its original name the Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide to enable us to reposition it as an economy hotel in the twilight of its existence as the intention is to completely redevelop the property in the not-too-distant future. Your comments regarding the stained sheets have been referred onto our Housekeeping manager for follow up. Overall wasn’t happy, the customer service was all okay when checking in but found the place to smell very musky and the room felt dirty. Couldn’t open a window even just a touch to let some air through as I felt a bit suffocated with just a fan on in the room, which was quite loud too. Id suggest a sink with ours tap or at least filtered water for drinking too.

The inside of the building past the elevator needs new carpet throughout hallways and rooms, new pillows and a spray for silverfish as they were coming out of the pillow in the bed… Also the heating was extremely hot and stuffy… One of the elevators out of order made it a long wait to get anywhere as so many guests using it at once… The staff I couldn’t fault they were friendly, professional and always polite. They went above and beyond to help or guide direction when asked. Great team environment.

My room was small, with opaque window glass giving the feeling of being a little cramped. However it was clean and the bed and other facilities provided for a comfortable stay.
