This hotel is located in a great, convenient spot. Lots of public transport close by but also an easy walk to shopping, restaurants and city landmarks. While the room was not large, typical for a mid city hotel, it did have lovely amenities. A coffee pod machine, not just instant, plus, something I’ve never seen in a hotel room, a milk frother. Unfortunately Adelaide went in to a six day full lockdown less than 24 hrs after we arrived so we had to leave quickly, not giving us an opportunity to fully take advantage of all the hotels conveniences. If you want a reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location, this is the place for you.

The staff were very welcoming and everything was ok , but I think the rooms need a good overhaul . The air conditioning system was very noisy .

This hotel represents good value for money and is located in the heart of the CBD. The hotel is about 150-meters from Rundle Mall, a 10-minute walk to Adelaide Central Markets (Gouger St. Eats), 7-minute walk to East St. restaurants, cafes, and pubs. Also, located directly across the road from the casino. Onsite Parking is available at a cost of $20 The staff are friendly and the facilities are clean and adequate. The only downside is no microwave in the room.

Comfortable clean basic rooms. The shower in our room was not good. (Bath/shower combo) Great service from staff. Great location for sightseeing, shopping and dining. Oh and the breakfast was delicious.

We took advantage of the SA Tourism travel voucher. The staff were friendly and approachable. Overall the room appeared tired. The bed was comfortable enough, but we needed to go shopping in Rundle Mall to replace the pillows - not something I expected to need to do. We could also hear a small child/children crying throughout the day and evening. I've since been told by a friend who works for SA Health that the Grovesnor has been used as a medi-hotel. Given the recent speculation regarding transmission of virus through surface contact, I'm appalled that your hotel is currently participating in the SA Tourism scheme. If my husband or I (or any member of the public for that matter) becomes unwell due to this scheme, there will be an irreparable level of damage to your reputation.

Dear Monica, Thank you very much for your very appreciated comments on the hotel staff while I am very sorry to have read that your stay has been impacted by the need to have to purchase additional pillows, crying children and your concerns the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel has been a medi-hotel in the past. With respect to your concern that the hotel has been a medi-hotel, may I allay your concerns in that while we registered our interest at the point in which the concept was being considered by the State Government, we were not included in the final selection which in turn has and continues to prevent us from accepting associated guest. I can only apologize for the disturbance caused by crying children all day and for the need to purchase additional pillows for which I am very sorry for. Nice clean standard room and nice decor. Comfortable one night stay. Only improvements could be to have 4 pillows on the bed rather than just two. Also need to include the wine glasses and a couple other glasses to drink water from in the room would be nice.

The room was very comfy but the air con could do with an update as it was very warm in the room all night. And breakfast seemed to be mostly microwaved :(

The room was ok, although the curtains were closed when I entered so it was dark. The room was clean and tidy. Pillows were awful. Breakfast was unorganised we were a party of 4 but only got 3 breakfasts which we took up to the room so didn't worry about going back down to get the missing one. The girl serving us was doing a great job but she was on her own so struggling with a very long line of people waiting.

Staff very friendly and helpful ( especially Grant ) , room was clean and well appointed given covid requirements. Breakfast was great - we had a picnic in our room. Food was good and plentiful. Overall our stay was great and we would be happy to stay there again.

All staff contact was brilliant; everyone was most helpful at all times. The only down-side was the dreadful musty smell in the carpeted hallways of the hotel. I realise the age of the hotel & therefore the narrow hallways, but, surely that odour could be dealt with! And, having a wooden bathroom door opening inward towards a glass shower-screen made for difficult & careful manoeuvring each time you entered the room. Why wouldn’t a sliding-door be looked at as a safer alternative?

The whole place needs an upgrade, rooms are old, carpet in hallways look very sad & old. Always had to ask for tea caddy to be topped up. No glasses in room. I actually worked as a housekeeper many years ago & we had to make sure that everything was spot on before leaving a room. Even the bin liners are not even pushed down. Outside planter boxes used as ashtrays which is not very inviting. Rooms looked good on internet! and the only good thing was that it is in a very good location for transport. Also it would be nice to at least get a "hello" when you walk in or out, most of the front staff didn't look up. We didn't order any food as there is nowhere to sit to eat.

We used our Great State travel voucher and purchased an extra night as well. The room was a little dated and could do with updating. Nice spacious room, but could have done with extra comfy seating as only one arm chair was provided. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the breakfast included in the Great State Voucher package was not very good at all. We understand they were trying to do their best, but it just didn't work. All the staff that we dealt with were friendly and accommodating.
