On arrival we were told our room wasn't ready 16.30 . We could either wait or accept a disabled room - i was assured the only difference was something about the handles? The room had a shower over bath, the tv channels didn't work and windows opened dangerously wide, i mentioned to reception who gave us a second room which was better, although stained carpets and If the dial on shower is left turned on hot setting after use, noisy pipe work wakes you at 6! I understand there are restrictions and breakfast was ok but felt awful for the two staff on a Saturday morning trying to serve everybody- too long a wait for breakfast. Even though we had to book a time slot, this did not avoid it being too busy for the two staff. Also no pastries available for sitdown breakfast, but there was for grab and go.

I was sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion Lisa in particular the quality of your allocated bedroom, please accept my sincere apologies. We will certainly look into your feedback and take the appropriate measures to prevent future occurrence. Regarding the breakfast service, as this was our first few days of re-opening the hotel following the temporary closure from 31st March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I am sure that you can appreciate, the enormous task of implementing all safety procedures to protect both guest and colleague as we tackle this virus was very over whelming for the team as they arrived back from Furlough Leave. However, as our occupancy from Monday through to Thursday was very low, we had not anticipated the last minute pick-up that the hotel received on the Friday and Saturday night which certainly stretched our resources. Please rest assured that we will certainly address this situation for the next months to come as we do not want our team to be further overwhelmed whilst returning to work after so many months away from the business. The main problem was the long delay in getting breakfast. As you have changed from a buffet to being served at tables you really need more staff. We arrived at 8.55 for the 9 am sitting and left at 10.10. There was another family which hadn't even been served by the time we left. We also got the wrong things on the breakfast. I had plain porridge instead of porridge with banana and honey. Neither my son nor my husband got hash browns with their breakfast but I did so shared mine. There was no marmalde. Staff were clearly rushed off their feet. You just need to recruit more staff to do the work with the new rules

Good to be back in this hotel after lockdown. Scrupulously clean, very comfortable room, parking at hotel, and great breakfast, now with waiter-service. Helpful check-in staff made it easy for me to check in in record time and get a taxi to a meeting I might otherwise have been late for. Thank you Novotel Bristol.

I chose this hotel as it is ideally situated for my purposes. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious with very good facilities. The staff were courteous and helpful. The breakfast was also very good, and the service was excellent, especially in view of the covid 19 pandemic. I was pleased to see that the hotel did everything possible to minimise the risk. This was a lovely stay and great value for money.

The personal was very welcoming and friendly but only 2 persons had to deal with the whole Breakfast service. No choice of fruits nor pastries. At least if we would have been informed before we could have made a better decision

Have stayed here twice, would recommend to others and would stay here again if visiting Bristol. Approx 5 minute walk from Temple Meads Station, 5 minute walk to city centre and plenty of bars/pubs/restaurants all nearby. All staff encountered were excellent and friendly. Did not dine in the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

Under the current circumstances with covid-19 the hotel was quiet and the staff were very helpful, there were plenty hand sanitizer bottles available around the hotel. The hotel was very clean and I was pleased to have had a 'Japanese' themed room. this was my first stay at the hotel in Bristol and I will gladly be booking again in the future (once Covid-19 disappears......)

Traffic in Bristol is a lot worse than we remembered, this made locating the hotel more difficult than expected. Not your fault. Hotel was clean, well presented and all the staff helpful and attentive. Evening meal very good, good value too. Choice of cereal at breakfast disappointing. Croissants and Pain Au Chocolate good. Hearing the deliveries being made at the rear of the hotel before 07:00 hrs was not expected. Room313. We had to check out a day early and your front desk managers resolved our problems promptly.

No one at the hotel due to corinavirus. Thought might therefore get some special treatment like an room upgrade...but no! Wasn’t told where any facilities are, didn’t ask if I’d had a good journey, in fact nothing. And I’m a member.

We spent 3 nights in the hotel, which is conveniently placed close to Bristol Temple Meads station and within walking distance of main sights. We didn’t eat in the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, although the Japanese them was a bit odd. Our only criticism was the quality of the Wi-fi, which was very patchy and didn’t work at all on one side of the room, the best signal was in the bathroom.

Great base for Cheltenham Featival

The 2nd time we have based ourselves at this hotel for our day at the Cheltenham Festival. A few minutes walk from Temple Meads station from where Cheltenham is under an hour away. Rooms are very comfortable and the public areas including bar and restaurant are welcoming with friendly and professional staff. The buffet breakfast is excellent and we enjoyed our one evening meal in the restaurant - food quality very good along with service. Would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting Bristol - great value

Stayed one night in a family room with 2 year old. The room was lovely and clean with a small fridge which is perfect when you have very young children. The hotel is well situated for a stay in bristol city. The breakfast was really good with lots of choice, I would recommend the pancakes. The best part was how friendly and helpful the staff were! 100% recommend a stay here.

Hi. I had a one-night stop in a suite in Bristol. I was overall disappointed with the room. It smelt badly of someone else's perfume throughout, which indicates the cleaning was poor. Indeed, that was my general impression. The room was not terribly clean or in great condition, which is a shame for a £200 / night room. It was all just a little bit tired. The bed was great though and the general amenities -- coffee, working space and so on, were good. On the other hand, the staff at the hotel were excellent. The welcome from the night receptionist (a Portuguese man, if you can identify him) was warm and courteous, and he brought fresh milk for me. A very nice experience from an excellent team member. So, if you could work on the rooms to get them up to the next level, it would be excellent.
