The Worst Experience in Accor Hotels

I stayed in the hotel on 8 December for one night with my wife, 3 years old son and 2 months infant daughter. Upon check-in we received an upgrade and a welcome drinks voucher being a Platinum member of Accor. I informed the reception that I would like to have a late check-out up to 2 PM because I will be outside at other part of the city for a meeting and might be late in afternoon. The reception agreed to it and told me that Platinum members have free late check-out. I also asked if the hotel honors Accor Ambassadors and the hotel refused that they are a franchise and they do not. The room given to us was Room 54 and it was good and hot as per the weather condition, 0 degrees outside. The beds were comfortable. After check-in and leaving the luggage in the room, I came to the lobby and I was working on my laptop when my wife informed me by phone that the bathroom was having a bad smell and the shower area had a problem, the water does not drain. I checked it and came back to the reception. The manager herself was available at reception and I informed her about the issue. She said she will get it checked. I went back to the lobby to work on my laptop. Despite complaining, the issue was not solved neither we were given any feedback. Next day I could not take a shower before going to work because there was plenty of water from the previous day. I tried to fix the drainage by myself but the water was taking a lot of time to drain. I left the hotel for the meeting. Around 11:45 AM my wife called me and said that the hotel wants her to check-out. I told her that I will send an email to the reception, if they come again tell them that I sent them an email and if they insist, come to the lobby with the luggage but it was difficult for her to come out with the luggage and the infant at same time. My wife had a health issue and it was not possible for her. I did not had local German calls allowed on roaming. I only had an internet SIM for EU. I excused the Deputy GM of the company I had a meeting with and sent the hotel an email. The Deputy GM asked me if there is a problem and I explained her that the hotel wants my wife to check-out now and being a Platinum member the late check-out is possible and I already had it discussed yesterday. She offered me to talk with the hotel directly using her mobile. She dialed the number and phone was on speaker. The phone was answered by the manager herself. I was told by the hotel that the hotel is fully booked but they lied, I checked later and several rooms of all categories were available including the one I stayed. I made a reservation for the same category of the room I am staying in just to show them that they lied and that the hotel is not fully booked. Reservation was late canceled as cancelation was free until 6:00 PM. I returned to the hotel as soon as I can and we checked-in to another Accor hotel. We are staying in Accor hotels since a long time and we never had such issues. In short the said hotel is not caring and the upper management lie to guests. If there is a problem it will not be solved.

Sehr geehrter Usman S., Sie geben sich wirklich Mühe, Ihre Bewertung in möglichst vielen Portalen zu platzieren. Bitte haben Sie Verständnis, dass ich nicht in jedem Portal einzeln antworten kann. Offensichtlich haben wir höchst unterschiedliche Erinnerungen an Ihren Aufenthalt. Ich darf höflichst daran erinnern, dass Sie bei uns keinen Late Check Out erfragt haben. Erst nachdem Sie nicht bis 12 Uhr das Zimmer verlassen haben, haben wir höflich nachgefragt, ob Sie heute abreisen werden oder Ihr Zimmer verlängern möchten. Erst dann hatten Sie einen Late Check Out erfragt, den wir aufgrund unserer Buchungssituation nicht bestätigen konnten, jedoch Ihnen den Late Check Out bis 14 Uhr anboten, welchen Sie dann auch nutzten. Schade, das Sie uns nicht Bescheid gegeben haben, dass Ihre Frau aus gesundheitlichen Problemen, Ihr Gepäck nicht alleine tragen konnte. Selbstverständlich wären wir Ihr dabei behilflich gewesen. Sehr schade ist auch, dass Sie nicht erwähnen, dass Sie einen kostenfreien Parkplatz und auch kostenfreies Frühstück verlangt haben, welches wir nicht bestätigen konnten. Die Verstopfung in Ihrem Duschabfluss, tut uns leid. Uns ist nicht bekannt, das Sie dies bereits am Nachmittag/ Abend an der Rezeption gemeldet haben, falls doch, möchten wir uns dafür entschuldigen, das dies bei uns anscheinend untergegangen ist. Als Sie dies am Morgen mitteilten, haben wir uns sofort darum gekümmert. Eine Mitarbeiterin ist sofort in Ihr Zimmer gekommen und hat das Problem behoben. Sehr geehrter Usman S, bitte haben Sie Verständnis, dass dies eine einmalige und abschließende Antwort auf Ihren Kommentar ist und ich keine weiteren Diskussionen mit Ihnen führen werde. Da Sie nicht nur Tatsachen verdrehen, gänzlich unter den Tisch fallen lassen oder neu erfinden und uns zudem der Lüge bezichtigen, versteht es sich von selbst, dass Sie als Gast in unserem Haus nicht mehr erwünscht sind.

I used all accor application for booking 2 rooms for 5 people with breakfast for 2 adults. According to my reservation, I had 1 room + 2nd room with 50% reduction for 5 people. Thé day of check-in, I got supprised because the receptionist said that I booked 2 rooms for 5 but each room for 2 people.. She said if I want 2nd room for 3 people , I should pay. In addition, she said that I paid only breakfast for 1 adult and she asked me to pay for other adult and 3 children. According my réservation, i had allready paid breakfast for 2 adults and according to all accor application, the breakfast is free for the children less than 16/18 years old. Anyway, I used thé same application for my booking Novotel à Nürnberg. I didn't have any problem. Conclusion, I will not book any room for Ibis. It's not suitable for 5.

The bedroom was comfortable and the temperature was good as needed according to the weather. There was sewerage smell from the toilet. There was problem with the drainage of the shower and there was plenty of water in the shower and could not be drained. I complained in the evening but the staff did not solved the problem. I am a Platinum status member and stayed all around the world but never had such issues which I had in this hotel. I requested late check-out for 2 hours because I had an urgent meeting at other end of Berlin. The hotel management refused and told me that the hotel is fully booked and it is not possible. I instantly checked online in Accor website and all type of rooms were available in the hotel. The management lied. I booked the same type of room just to provide that they lied and posted the proof in google reviews. This hotel is not for Accor loyal members or business guests. The rates are too high if compares with other Ibis hotels but if services are compared, it needs improvement.
