« Fairly Good hotel .. »

Checked in at 1.30am , receptionist was courteous . The hotel needs kind of upgrading although the staff are helpful . Buffet breakfast was average as 70% of the food is the same . One staff by the name of Howard was particularly helpful in ensuring we had a honest and reliable taxi driver. Starbuck is just 200m to the left of the hotel..plenty of nice cafe and restaurants at Jeifang Road which is only 400m on the left of the hotel..staff needs to improve their English proficiency

« I found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful »

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the check in and check out was quick, however the security deposit was a bit on the high side compared to other hotel I stayed at in China. The room I stayed in requires some cosmetic maintenance, for example peeling wallpaper and large crack in floor tile. The room was comfortable though. The complex where the hotel is located is very pleasant. If I visit Xi'an again I would consider staying here again

« Great value, great price »

Convenient location, near major tourist spots such as the bell tower and drum. We managed to get a family room for a very good price. Staff were excellent and were able to speak quite good English- Cherry in particular was outstanding. Would recommend this hotel- cheaper than the Grand Mercure with a better room.

Cherry at reception was lovely and there was another lady who I can’t remember her name but she had perfect English and helped me out with a trip to see the Terra-cotta Warriors. So I was really happy

Laura on the front desk made my stay easier. She translated into English for me and made calls for me when I needed a Chinese speaker. Her service was outstanding...she even took postcards to the post office for me!

« Frustrating »

The room is so smoky we can't sleep. We'd been move to the new room but still smoky. Better that we were able to sleep. Make sure you put your non smoker guests to smoke free room.

« Hard bed »

Before arriving into MERCURE i have stayed 12 nights all around Tibet. Their bed was hard but really surprised of MERCURE's bed being the hardest. Understand beds in China are all notoriously hard but MERCURE giving me a really bad ache. Pillow are far too soft with no substance in it for any form of support. Overall bad experience.

« Very comfirtable beds, rooms and bathroom - cannot fault them in any way. »

Communication in English is still somewhat difficult. The staff member (Lola) who checked us in was pleasant and organised and did help me with getting tickets for the evening show and arranged a Taxi for me for the next days visit to the Terracotta Warriors at very short notice and I thank her for her assistance. However, she did NOT provide me information on the Restuarant type that I wanted and needed. So I had to spent a lot of time myself late into the night by searching through the Internet. However, next morning there was another staff member - the pregnant one - (early in the morning around 6:30-7:30am), who did help me to rearrange the Taxi schedule to include a visit to the Restuarant (that I had located the previous night) during the days visit to the Terracotta Warriors. She was quite interested to meet my needs and I do thank her for her efforts in this regard.

« Fantastic »

We stayed as a family of 5, in two rooms. It was spacious and great value for money. The hotel complex (5 hotels around the square) all Accor caters for all budgets and taste. Food in the restaurants were superb (Italian and Softel buffet). My daughter is coeliac (gluten free). Carl, the assistant manager, went out of his way, and I cannot praise his service and care high enough. He contributed to a memorable stay in a fantastic location in a great city. It exceeded all our expectations

Average property, although the service was friendly and helpful, the room we stayed in was very, very small and tired beyond its years, the bed was more tired than I was! The bathroom was old and not well cleaned, hair under the basin and behind the door, mould in the shower etc. The linen and towels were clean. No power point to plug in the kettle and no additional power points for charging laptops, phones etc.

Wonderful yard,, old but comfortable room, great location to anywhere within downtown highlights , squares, muslim food street, public transportation, etc.. very friendly guest receptionist such as Miss Laura and Miss Cheery , they are all helpful in meeting my requests. the only setback I have is I expected the renovated room with modern design, but it seems unlikely meet my expectation ..

Good service. But old hotel. Not the cheapest. Location is central but not convenient. 10 to 15 mins walk to everywhere. Bring your own toiletries because those provided are low quality. Pillow too soft and low. Would not be back if given the chance.

Overall a very average experience, apart from the poor state of the hotel, there was a major leak right outside my door, the entire stay was average. Having to walk to the neighboring Sofitel for breakfast, on a cold morning was not fun. I would probably look fro alternate options the next time i visit Xi'an.

« Satisfied overall for location and staff. »

Good location but the hotel is outdated and not worth the price. Ms. Echo at the front desk was really courteous and helpful and even gave us her own umbrella since there was only one hotel umbrella which was checked out.
