« Extremely well situated for the airport »

Very poor, staff were excellent but sorry to say the accommodation was awful. Beds very uncomfortable and lumpy. Food though in your restaurant was also excellent it was just your room that let you down.

« Room not practical for 2 guests »

Room was really clean. Breakfast was great. Check in was good. The room had no bathroom. It had a separate toilet, a sink in the room and a pod shower with a frosted shower door and a full length mirror opposite the shower. For 2 professional ladies on business we found it slightly inconvenient.

« Get what you pay for I guess. »

On arrival to the very large hotel was two staff on a small desk, one chap appeared to be faffing on the laptop and so the que went on for what seemed days, got to our room and it was clean and tidy, tv signal was shockingly s**t and only could watch two channels, then it wouldn't work at all, went down to the bar to be asked was I in a budget room? When confirmed this I was told I would have to unplug the tv for a few mins and then it should work, didn't realise that the budget rooms mean that you get the old TVs! I will say that some of the staff were lovely even heated some milk for my little one, the coffee from the bar was also lovely infact better than costa in the airport. Would stay in again but may have to spend more money to get the better TV signal.

« OK for just one night »

I was welcomed by Reception. I came back to the restaurant and waited for over 5 mins before being asked if I needed a table. Sadly I then had to wait a further 15 mins before someone came a long and took my small order of soup, side salad and a glass of white wine. Bearing in mind that the restaurant was not full at 9pm. The food arrived with the bread on a plate which was sat on bowl of soup. There was only a spoon. So at this point I am not sure how I was suppose to put butter on the bread without a knife or eat the salad without a fork. Please bear in mind so sign of the glass of wine that I had ordered. I had to hunt around to find a table that had cutlery on it and I took the cutlery from another table. No. sign of any waiting staff. I ate the salad and soup and still no sign of the wine. I didn't bother waiting any longer and after eating I went to the bar to pay. There were 3 members of staff behind the bar. The guy asked me for my room number and as he was typing it into the till I mentioned that there was no sign of the wine that I had ordered. He offered me a glass of wine, but as I was leaving the restaurant, there was no point. There was absolutely no apology from him and he just handed me the bill for the soup and salad. If this is your customer service then your staff are in need of some serious training. I mentioned that the service had been horrific but there was absolutely no feedback from the 3 members of staff at the till point. It maybe cheap labour to employ such young staff, but they just don't have the interpersonal skills needed when working at a hotel. As I passed the Reception, I asked for an email address. The young girl went into the back office and a young guy came out and I explained the fiasco. I was handed a "Complimentary Welcome Drink" voucher, but as I won't be staying here again, this will end up in the bin. As I lay in bed at 9.50pm the fire alarm went off for a few moments. Could the evening get any worse? I await to see what the customer service is like at breakfast. To summarise, my few hours have been horrific and in hindsight, having paid £95.50, this is quite a lot of money for such shoddy customer service. Sadly, I feel I will contact Hotels.com and give them my feedback.

Not our first stay in this hotel but the budget rooms are exactly that. Fit for purpose, sleep,shower and leave. Just a three minute walk and you're in the airport, perfect and it was reasonably priced.

« Excellent hotel and service for an astounding price! »

Having stayed in hotels of all levels in numerous countries we were delighted and I have to say somewhat surprised at the quality of Ibis budget hotel at Birmingham airport. When my wife booked and told me the price, right up to departure, I assumed it was per person. Well done Ibis, a perfectly acceptable room and restaurant at perfectly acceptable price. We will be using you again.

« Very good position »

Good location, easy check in, found room nice and clean. Only fault that we found was that we could have done with two chairs ( it was a double room after all) rather than one seated on the bed. However room very quiet with no aircraft noise, used this hotel before and will be happy to use again.

« Ideal for an overnight before an early flight »

Easy and efficient booking and pre-arrival check in. Basic facilities, but everything you need for an overnight before a flight including a’pod’ shower in the room.

« A stay not without its difficulties. »

The hotel is in a good location for the airport and with reasonable facilities for the budget price paid. However, our night was disturbed by the fire alarm going off on two occasions. At the time this was quite frightening considering we were several floors above ground level and we are two pensioners. The alarms were false as confirmed by a young man going to the ground floor to make the enquiry. Seemingly no procedures were in place to inform customers or in the event of a real fire no staff available to ensure customers left the building. Okay I can accept that mechanical errors can happen but there was no explanation to us, no reception staff available when we checked out early the next morning and it would have helped just to have a written apology/explanation (perhaps secured to the exit door).

Very clean basic hotel well situated for the Airport. Rooms are very clean and quiet allowing for a good sleep. Staff very friendly at both the bar and restaurant, which have good menus and reasonably priced considering where it is.
