A 5 minute walk from train station and a weatherspoons. A beautiful 20 minute walk to the town centre. Staff were very friendly and very welcoming.

I stayed recently for 5 nights and had been totally satisfied. My remark is that I missed a mini bar and fridge in the rooms. Everything else was pretty good.

Happy with our twin room although beds could have more than 1 pillow. I asked at reception and was immediately given 2 more so that was good service. Good location for Station. The only real complaint was breakfast. My son went to get his cooked breakfast whilst I started with cereal. When he sat down I could smell fish but I didn't think too much of it. When I got my breakfast I got the last of the scrambled egg in the pot and after starting eating it was apparent that the fishy smell was coming from the eggs. The smell was so unpleasant that we asked for the plates to be removed from the table. The server bringing out the dishes from the back did offer to get us something else but that was the end of my cooked breakfast. The selection looked good though and what I tasted of the sausage and bacon was nice. Just not a fishy egg fan.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The reception, bar and breakfast area were modern and breakfast was adequate. The room was clean, with a small pod style bathroom. The only problem that we had was that you could not pull up outside the hotel entrance to unload luggage and check in, the only parking close by (if you could find a space) had a 2 hour limit and required payment with a phone app. Overnight parking (using a different phone app) was available about 2 blocks away in a car park. This made arrival very difficult and stressful.

The room was in dire need of decoration - faded, dusty furnishings - and really didn’t look clean. The bathroom sink emitted a foul smell and the soap dispensers had fallen off the walls and were left leaning against the side, marks still showing in the wall.

We were happy with the two workers behind the counter. They were very nice and helpful! However we were not satisfied with our stay. The lobby had a very strong repellent smell and our room was hardly better. The bedding had mysterious stains on them we wouldn’t describe the room overall as “clean”.

Okay stay, room not clean.

Check in was quick and simple. Rooms were both okay, however they had clearly not been properly cleaned before our arrival - bathroom was covered in marks and stains, toilet had hairs everywhere and the shower shampoo and gel and not been replenished. Made sleeping uncomfortable as we weren't convinced the beds had been cleaned properly as well.

great value budget hotel convenient for station

For a budget hotel coming out of lockdown we were very impressed at the cleanliness of the hotel and our room in particular. Very convenient for nearby Rail Station. All the staff were friendly and keen to assist as required. Had a lovely quiet room on the 5th floor and a great shower. A fast lift took us back to ground floor and booking in /out was no problem. Slight downside was lack of choice for cereals but that I think that was due to current delivery problems generally. Recommended!

Had a project to photograph just down the road, so the hotel was ideally situated. Considering we are in still having to live with Covid and it's restrictions, staying at the hotel was quite painless. Staff were brilliant and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. When I'm back on site again later this year I'll definitely stay again. Thankyou!

Although Accor describes this hotel as Ibis Budget its features are equal to those of a more substantial hotel. The foyer area ; the bar ; the general standard of maintenance ; cleanliness ; and, friendly and helpful staff stand out. I'm not sure about the quality of the food, although the provision of food is helpful during the current lockdown. My room was quiet. I can't work the air conditioning unit. What do the buttons mean on the control panel? I asked for a heater, as the weather was cold. The bed is comfortable, and the good size of the room is great. Since people are welcoming and the hotel seems to be well run you get positive memories.

The hotel and the room were clean and in a very quiet area. But the receptionist was rude and not kind when talking to me. Her face expression was horrible and like didn’t want answer and talk to customers. Shame!

Simple, basic and has a bed. The shower is a strange pod built into the room, but does the job. The room was dusty in places with a particularly dusty laminated menu card on the bedside table. The TV surround unit was caked with dust in room 625. The TV didn't work and we were quickly offered a different, smaller room. We stayed where we were and fixed the TV ourselves. The ironing room is a good idea but one iron didn't work and the other wasn't very effective. The beds (singles) were ok and the lined clean.
