Had a nice journey at the So vienna. The only thing first day breakfast was not a success, i had to wait 25 min for a coffee and received my meal after 7 other customers arrived after me. NEvertheless i came back on day after and they tried to recover the mess. Room nice , room service not working after 22 H( ? ). This is not ht ebest hotel i was but they tries their best.

Notre responsable du restaurant va revoir le déroulement du service avec son équipe afin d'éviter les temps d'attente pour nos clients. Nous nous excusons pour les inconvénients causés. Suite à la situation de COVID-19 et par conséquent une faible demande, nous avons dû réduire les horaires du room-service allant actuellement de midi à 18h. Extremely dissatisfied with our stay. WE were unable to use the audio player in the bedroom as it was broken. We were unable to call downstairs to fix it because the phone was broken. Walked downstairs to ask for it to be fixed and to order room service - was told there is no one to fix anything in the evening and no room service. Im sorry is this not meant to be a 5 Star hotel? Terribly dissapointing

Dear Mr. V., Thank you for taking the time to fill in our online survey. We truly regret your disappointment regarding your stay at SO/ Vienna. Indeed, the equipment should be checked before the guests' arrival. This is an unnecessary inconvenience at the expense of our guests. Our SO Neat & Tidy manager has reviewed the service standards with her team in order to prevent this from happening in the future. Besides, she has focused on additional training for cleaning procedures. Due to the current situation, we have reduced different service options to reinforce the safety of our guests (for example turn down service, the guest room is only entered for the cleaning service). But we also have to consider economical aspects depending on current demand. Therefore, we offer room-service only from 12 till 6 pm. We always try to accommodate the requests during the evening and it is regrettable that we didn’t manage your order. Of course, we hope to extend the service hours in the next weeks when demand is increasing for providing again the usual range of services to our guests. We kindly apologize for the negligence and would like to offer you a room upgrade to our SO COMFY room with view over the city and St. Stephens’s cathedral for a future stay. Please contact the assistant to General Manager Ms. Christina Hager (ch…) for the booking. She will take care of your reservation. It was ok but the cosmetics were horror - low quality, smells ugly - and we asked a specific room at 17th floor and your staff from reservation department wasn't cared about my request.

Dear Mrs. D., Thank you for staying at SO/ Vienna once again! We are glad that overall you spent a pleasant stay with us. Nevertheless, we are sorry for your disappointment regarding the room allocation. The suite on the 17th floor was occupied, therefore we have accommodated you one floor below. We can’t guarantee any specific floor as the suites are allocated on different floors and we have to accommodate our guests depending on availability. Of course, we strive to meet our guest’s expectations and it is unfortunate that we weren’t able to offer you the suite on the 17th floor. Besides, it is regrettable that you didn't enjoy our bath amenities. Since the rebranding from Sofitel to SO/ in 2018, we have adapted our offers and have implemented a new sustainable product line called [comfort zone] coming from Italy which fits together with our new Spa products as well. Thank you for informing us about the negligent cleaning service. Our SO Neat & Tidy Manager will review the service standards with her team and set additional training. Our Just Say SO Manager also will implement training for improving the attitude and our welcome experience. Due to the corona virus and different recommendations from the Austrian government and Hotel Association, the hygiene standards have been extended and we have reinforced our cleaning measures. Depending on the infrastructure and also a quite low demand during summer, we had to adapt our breakfast offer. Instead of a buffet, we offer some packages and a wide selection of à la carte items. We currently work on a buffet solution for the next months in order to offer our guest’s again the usual buffet while respecting all measures to keep our guests and employees safe. We were transffered from MGallery to SO/ Vienna. It was unexpected experience but it is amazing. The room is stylish and we have a nice view from our room to see Vienna. From day to night, you see how Vienna is changing. The bed is super comfortable. We even think about buying the same. The staff were super helpful and friendly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Social distancing and cleanliness were well maintained. The breakfast room was understaffed for the number of guests and could have done with an additional pair of hands. The staff were however pleasant and did their best.

Third visit this year and it was the best one yet! The staff were particularly nice, polite and friendly this time and all my requests were fulfilled, thank you for that. But above all, thank you for the Hermes toiletries! It was such an unexpected surprise and made us very, very happy! Thank you so much! There were some small issues like all the lights in the room turning on in the middle of one night and the AC being impossible to turn off, but nothing major. Our stay was fantastic as usual and we will come back soon!

Not the first time in the Hotel, but the first time post Covid19 Arrival: asked for upgrade=- not possible, higher floor room was allocated. The preference settings were not considered. This could be something that the check in process could cover. Luggage was brought to the initially allocated room first and need to be recovered. Room #1710 very sober, perhaps a little sofa in front of the bed is better tah a seating cube and a single chair? Breakfast service: The packages do not really resemble value for money and the pairing did not really reflect my preferential choices. The background music was to loud on some days and the Sofitel standard songs are not really relaxing but are very repetitive. Overall doormen service great and friendly. Overall ok- not sure I will reconsider to stay again next time. Value for money is not in good balance.

I have shared your positive feedback with him. We are sorry that the room layout and equipment didn't meet your expectations. Some grey rooms have a sofa, other are equipped with an armchair. The Austrian government and the Austrian hotel association published recommendations for restaurant and hotels to have high security standards for keeping our guests and employees safe. Therefore, we decided not to offer our breakfast buffet but serve breakfast à la carte or offer some packages at the table. It is regrettable that they didn't suit your taste. Among the safety reasons, we also have to consider the economic aspects in these dynamic times. We currently work on different solutions and we hope to offer again a breakfast buffet soon. Thank you for your comment about the background music. We are aware of this topic and have already initiated actions to remedy the disturbance. Nice that nobody was wearing the stupid masks. However - the restaurant and bar were not open in full and no room service after 18:00. This is just not good enough at this level (SO).

Of course, I have forwarded your feedback regarding the missing service attitude to the managers concerned. We will focus on trainings to review the service standards and the knowledge of our loyalty program for delivering a high quality of service to our guests. I kindly apologize for the negligence. The Austrian government has authorized the hotels and restaurants to serve their guests without masks since July 1st. We are happy about this relaxing of regulations, however we will surely wear masks again when it will be necessary in Vienna or Austria to protect our guests and employees. Please note that we would be more than happy to offer you all services and facilities as before the crisis. However, due to the low activity, especially during the summer season, and economical aspects, we have to limit service hours and some areas like the spa. We always try to accommodate our guests’ requests, nevertheless we have to adapt our offer to the current situation. Therefore, we do not serve a buffet for breakfast for example, but à la carte with different salt and sweet items in addition to a selection of breakfast packages. We arrived to SO to a warm welcome by Louise who gave us a brief Sunday if the hotel and the city. The hotel is lovely, we had a nice view of St Stephen's cathedral. We really enjoyed our stay in SO/ Vienna, the staff was very kind and helpful, the location was great (2 minutes walk from the subway station and 15 minutes walk from the center). also the view from the restaurant at the highest floor has the most amazing view over the whole city. when we'll be back to Vienna we'll definitely pick this hotel again.

Everything was perfect apart from check-in.

Dear Mr. Z., Thank you for taking the time to fill in our online survey. We are glad that overall you spent a pleasant moment at SO/ Vienna. However, I am sorry to read about your disappointment regarding the check-in. I have asked our Welcome Manager to get back to me with the reservation details in order to understand the situation. You have booked a white SO COSY room facing the 2nd district and Prater. As we had the possibility to give you an upgrade, you were accommodated in the next category, a grey SO COMFY room facing the city centre with the St. Stephen’s cathedral. It is regrettable that you had the impression to get a cheaper room than originally booked. We will improve the communication towards our guests in order to avoid such misunderstandings in the future. Besides, I kindly inform you that the official check-in time is 3 pm, a usual time for hotels worldwide. We always try to accommodate our guests upon their arrival. Nevertheless, we can’t guarantee the room before 3 pm. Again, our Welcome Manager and his team will improve the communication for preparing our guests a friendlier and warmer arrival experience.
