Location is good. The hotel is shabby, in poor state of repair. Outside there is rotten wood and it needs a good refresh, painting and windows cleaned. Car park is dire. Breakfast was dreadful. Did get refund for it. It was lukewarm, croissant frozen, coffee tasteless and toaster useless Not what I expect from a Mercure hotel

Not worth the money!!

Waited to check in, whilst the receptionist was on the phone. Asked to pay for parking and was told its £15. Even though its £12 on the website. Got checked in early and had one of the rooms over looking the cathedral, the dust on the skirting boards was thick, especially under the window and toothpaste marks on the sink from the last occupants. Made A coffee and ask A member of cleaning staff if we could have A couple more Coffee Pods to which she said No. Then asked if she could get someone to clean the bathroom for us. Her answer was No I didn't clean it to start with!!! Luckily enough another cleaner stepped in and was more polite. The toilets in the basement are an absolute disgrace and filthy dirty. The Breakfast buffet was warm and that's about it, by which time we had just had enough. And A lovely double bed which was 2 single beds with A large uncomfortable ridge in the middle. As we left our room to go down and checkout, the cleaning staff were in the room opposite on their phones!! The receptionist took refunded £50 but also said she wouldn't charge for the parking. But unfortunately we had paid that on arrival. There was A very nice travelodge around the corner that looked so much more clean and inviting than this 4star flea pit.

really great but Hell's Stairway!

The location was amazing as it has spectacular views of the cathedral (right next door to it) I also enjoyed hearing the cathedral bells. I loved the rooms and the service. they were friendky and helpful and i was also able to eat most of the meals as you had a few choices inside the hotel but also outside of it. The downside is alot of walking involved inside and outside.
