« lovely hotel - indifferent reception staff »

A lovely hotel with a comfortable room and a great breakfast. However, the receptionist on duty on the Friday evening needs further training in communication skills. Knowing that the restaurant was out of use due to a private function, she did not use her initiative and call us in advance to say that this was the case, and would we mind eating in the bar instead, or perhaps booking somewhere else. This would have avoided unnecessary inconvenience. Furthermore, she did not seem particularly concerned that we had been shoved I a corner of the bar whilst people stood crowded around us having pre-dinner drinks; however, she was very accommodating indeed to the numerous French speaking pilots and airline staff who were checking in and out at the time. As the first point of contact when guests arrive, the person on duty should be more welcoming and helpful - her colleague on Saturday was excellent. In general, the staff lacked the warmth and enthusiasm you would expect, although we could not fault the service we received. This is a shame, because otherwise the Bush Hotel is a very pleasant place to stay.

I had an upgrade to a court yard room, which was lovely and had plenty of space. It was just a shame I didn't have more time to take advantage of it.

I stayed at your hotel as I was working in the area. I’m a member of the accor loyalty program so I always seek out Mercury hotels. This is one of the better ones I’ve stayed in and the service is right up there if not better than the other Accor hotels I’ve stayed at.

« Poor nights sleep »

I have stayed many many times and really like the hotel, location and staff. On this occasion I stayed in a newly refurbished room on the third floor and could not control the room temperature. I could not turn off the aircon or change any setting (it said ‘centrally controlled’ when any buttons were pressed). As a result the room was 23* degrees (according to the aircon) with the window open and I could not sleep. Incidentally my colleague had exactly the same issue with the same result. As rest is important when staying at the hotel this is a serious problem if repeated.

Allocated room 3, in courtyard. You can hear every step from people in room above. Awoke by cleaners vacuuming in room above at 7:30.

« Slightly lacking but acceptable. »

Very friendly staff! Nice folks. Room was heated and cooled appropriately. I’d prefer softer beds and pillows. Needed amenities were available. One big drawback is no workout room, but I didn’t mind as Farnham Park is right there for beautiful morning runs. We arrived after 10:00PM and getting food wasn’t possible. Closet space was adequate, but really no room to put an open suitcase. Enjoyed having a refrigerator in the room. Location was fantastic.

« all in all a good stay »

Checkin was as usual quick and free of problems. Reine made us feel welcome and a little bit like returning home. My colleague and I both got assigned some of the refurbished rooms. The look nice, however there were stains on the floor in the entrance area and the bathroom tiles already look dirty. the first pair of curtains in the hallway (2nd floor) looked extremely worn and dirty, leaving a mixed first impression of the newly designed hallway. In all fairness, the new rooms look very nice, but it seems they have been made a bit careless by the craftsmen. The tiles in the shower are out of plane, the cover for the shower appliances was loose. So slightly disappointing for a brand new room. :( Still the best hotel in the wider Farnborough region and I'm looking forward to the next stay.

« Good nights sleep but not good value »

Lovely location and building. We had a ground floor room that was very quiet with air con. However the standard of the room was a disappointment, the carpet was old and was coming up in the middle, the grout in the bathroom was getting mouldy and the toilet flush was not working properly. Also the large king size bed was actually two beds pushed together which I disagree with. The quality of the rooms would have been better in the premier inn a few minutes down the road.

« Room clean and good value »

Pleasant staff, check in and check out both good. Bit underwhelmed by your bar where we had to wait (nobody serving behind the bar when we arrived some time after 8pm) and cocktails were not available. Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch.

« Would stay with you again but .......... »

Mostly very happy except for a few things - The barman did not know how to make a blood Mary and did not have any Worcester sauce. The breakfast was good but could have been hotter and the coffee machine ran out and was not refilled promptly There were around a dozen cigarette butts on the patio outside our room ( 102)

« Relaxing, nice quiet room. Friendly accommodating staff. »

A nice hotel. Well situated within walking distance of train station. Checking in & out very professional. Was able to book same room for next stay. Lovely room enabling good night’s rest. Excellent breakfast room & staff overall very accommodating. Negatives: in Casey Room - bath needs a refurbish & shower hear too low. No toilet brush. Curtains very old & not easy to draw. Pillows very hard.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, good location, lovely room, nice breakfast. Only negative would be if you look up there’s a lot of cracks in the ceiling so these need a bit of tlc but the room itself was great (we were lucky enough to be in room 4 which is huge!)

« Water shower bathroom issues »

As always your location is great, however the room i was in has noise problems from outside courtyard and fountain. As well as neigbour noise due thin walls and floorboards. The water pressure is dripping low and as such difficulty having a proper wash/shower. Also toilet takes ages filling up and thus noisy for long time.

« Excellent room and very comfortable bed. »

Could not fault the room. Disappointing cooked breakfast. The scrambled egg was cold and cut up into flat pieces. It obviously hadn't been whisked in a pan. The bacon was overcooked and dried up. The hot drinks machine was poor for making tea and left a frothy top even though it was only hot water. It would also go into a clean cycle when trying to make a drink.
