Whilst we enjoyed ourself and it was good to finally get out after the craziness of COVID We paid full tote odds for a king executive room which has some issues! Lack of maintenance - light in bathroom above toilet wasn't working No milk in the fridge, - so couldn't make tea or coffee, spiders and roaches in the room and shower, On the positive: Food was beautiful (breakfast/dinner) Wine and Cocktails beautiful Great central location

Found the rooms to be outdated dirty garden outside rooms Staff where nice but not very helpful Don’t want to keep going on as this is my 1st time just comparing my stay at hills lodge

staff where good. rooms have been getting worse and now in need of a makeover asap.Only had one night to spare this time so drove up from syd to enjoy. however,after check inn we discoverd the bathroom was not clean at all?? walked back to reception and informed them . they offerd to have it cleaner but we where on a quick trip and asked to go to other room as time was a factor for us. the second room was not much better and then we waited longer. we took the third room ,however the terrace was dirty and the screen door was laying on the gound outside?? we wipped down the outdoor seats and table so we could start our day allover ! i wish we could have the night over again in the place that we have known over the years to be very comfortable and fun in the pool room and by the fire . hope those days can return soon. regards Ivan N.

Terrific staff, good food, wonderful ambiance. Two cockroaches in bathroom floor on arrival, stone wall in bathroom very dusty, bathroom floor/corners not pleasant, screen door totally broken, clean room, very comfortable bed, curtains stained and in need,terrace unkempt. Room 806. Accor reservations were down so I called hotel (Karen) extremely helpful, in fact all staff were just so pleasant and professional

Great location, friendly staff. Needs major renovation. Premium prices for a worn down place. Resturant, pool and garden area amazing. Just rooms are a let down. Old bathrooms, dated furniture and old pilllows etc.

We recently stayed at the Mecure Hunter Valley Gardens. The hotel is well located and we had a great room with nice view of the hotel gardens which are beautiful. Parking is easy. We had two very enjoyable dinners at the hotel restaurant. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Hello Simon, This is Leanne L., Ian's wife. Below is what was sent to both the "Contact Us" email (which no reply was received) on your website and also to the resort.  "My husband and I have just (finally) been able to check in after having to go to reception three different times because our room wasn't ready. I even called on the way to see what time we could check in as we have had zero communication since making the booking. Had to leave a message and was told someone would call back- never happened. To say we are disappointed with our room would be a massive understatement. It is old, tired and dirty. I don't know how they can justify charging $410 a night for this room. This is meant to be our honeymoon (having had to postpone it for a second time because of Covid) and we are just shattered to have wasted our money. Do not stay hereit is truly awful. Would give zero stars if I could. Cant wait to leave. (No response was received from anyone at this point) Eventually Julie Pettit replied to me and we were given one night's accommodation refund.  I have attached screenshot of the interchange which includes photos of the absolutely revolting state of the room we paid $409 a night for. In short we will NEVER stay at a Mecure again. Your customer service is disgusting. How dare you send an email basically asking for praise and accolades for what amounts to nothing more than a Motor Inn when noone had the decency to reply to the email I sent 4 days ago.

Stayed Sunday and Monday night, property not busy. Very overpriced for room only rate., breakfast should have been included at $399 a night. Room not that special.

We recently stayed and had a wonderful experience - lovely room with the most comfortable bed and soft linen. Lovely and quiet. Check in and out service was excellent. The breakfast room had a lovely outlook and the food was very enjoyable. Would love the addition of some local cheese and cold meat to the breakfast selection. Made great use of the pancake machine at the breakfast buffet. Thank you for the room upgrade and the complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding anniversary- a lovely gesture and most appreciated .

We loved the whole place and am looking forward to going back.

This is the second year we have purchased via Luxury Escape, the staff are most welcoming in reception and the restaurant. Elements fixed price menus provide a good selection and the food is very good. Our only problem is with the room ie; cool roach behind the curtain and general wear and tear around the bathroom, the door to the room does not close and lock easily from the inside it needs to be closed several times to ensure it is locked and on leaving it must be pulled with some force to close the door

Very over priced for an average room. For $440 a night and such a great location in the hunter valley you would expect a higher standard for a Mercure resort. The staff were lovely and couldn’t fault them.

Thankyou for your feedback. I am sorry that you felt our rooms were not up to your expectations. We have just replaced all room beds, outdoor tables and TV's in the room. I am sorry that there was something about the room you did not enjoy. I am glad you were able to speak to our staff during your stay and they were helpful during your visit. Good location in heart of Hunter Valley. Easy access to major arterial roads and plenty of good pubs wineries and all manner of food options available locally and also has fantastic restaurant for dining on premises. Rooms very well appointed and clean and staff friendly and helpful
