Nice clean room with plenty of space. The television is very badly placed in the room. Staff are very polite. Breakfast is great.

Nice hotel though in the middle of a busy centre. Unfortunately at night the noise kept me awake till 1:30. Parking is a nescessity but not included. We parked in front of the hotel but that did not feel that secure.

Ibis parking rather confusing at this property. Staff could not advise on visits and above all restaurants - very young and not very informed. Flea found in the bed first night - be careful pets are allowed in this hotel.

already been in this hotel, the service and satff quality still remain very good as expected. It will be my home at every business travel in this city. I recommned to the others because the staff and the welcome reception are too gentle.

Decent compromise

The hotel is well located and the entrance has a nice flair. The rooms design is boring and definitively need renovation. Having only one accessible power outlet is definitively not enough. It would be a decent price performance for a three star Ibis Style or Novotel. The fourth star is definitively not justified

Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Nice room at a convenient location. Quiet. Very conformable bed. Breakfast OK. The one inconvenience was the lack of parking at the hotel.. Was directed to an underground parking at about one km away.

The parking situation is unconscionable

Whatever the positive qualities of this hotel might be -- a fairly good recent renovation and close proximity to the old section of Rodez as well as the modern museums -- trying to get to the hotel and then trying to get parking is a nightmare that negates everything else. Although I didn't recognize this issue in advance, since it is certainly not revealed in any accurate way on the hotel's web site, there is no real place to pull up to the hotel in a car. There are 4 short stay spaces in front of the hotel, which were filled when we drove up (and were suspiciously filled with what looked like the same cars the next day). Apparently the hotel has 4 underground parking spaces, if you book ahead. Not knowing this in advance, we were sent to a public parking garage "only 400 meters away." The map we were given to find this parking garage was confusing and the sign for the garage once you find it is so tiny that you really had to know in advance where you were going. We circled the block where the garage is located twice before we found it. Although the front desk people claimed it was "just a 10 minute walk away," the truth is that the whole process of walking there (and hope it isn't raining), getting the parking ticket paid, navigating through those narrow parking spaces and aisles and then beating the traffic in one-way streets makes the whole ordeal more like a 30-45 minute experience to go get your car and drive it back to the hotel to get your luggage. I guess if you travel light or, better, come to Rodez by train and taxi, it would be a great place to stay. Otherwise, prepare yourself for a real headache. They really should have some type of valet/bellman service available for people who drive to this location. Or be truthful on the web site and admit that the hotel isn't really convenient for people with cars. I give this a poor rating for location because of the parking, not because it is poor in relationship to the center of the city.

A fantastic location next to the cathedral and the old town. Very efficient check in and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She spoke very good English. We had booked parking but luckily we were able to have a free space. The room was spacious and everything worked well.

After a week of travelling round France, staying in two star hotels of widely varying quality, it was a relief to check into the four-star charms of the Mercure Rodez Cathedrale. Our room on the fourth floor, at the back, was comfortable, clean and spacious, everything worked exactly as it should do (including the very welcome air-conditioning) and the choice and quality of food on offer at breakfast was excellent. We were late down on both days, but it was no trouble for the kitchen staff to whip up some scrambled eggs and bacon, and the breakfast room itself, part of the original 19th-century hotel, is worth seeing in its own right. My only quibble (as usual) is that my wife was unable to find a power point adjacent to a mirror when she wanted to dry her hair!
