Aparthotel Adagio Basel City

Everything in the room was as expected, with a full range of cooking utensils including a dishwasher and the comfortable common area downstairs also had a laptop with printing facilities. Staff were very helpful and friendly, so we are now looking at our next stay in Germany. The only minor negative observation would be the condition of the carpet in the hallway.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was not as clean as one might have hoped. For example, some of the kitchen cupboard were oily, and dirty glass. The bed used in the studio was sofa bed, and it was very uncomfortable.

The hotel is well located and offers good facilities for longer stays (the room was spacious, it had a fully equipped kitchenette, coffee and tea making facilities, an ironing board, etc.). Too bad I stayed for just one night.

Very clean room, good room layout, excellent storage space, excellent lighting and easy to control, clean crisp sheets, good clean towels. Room was quiet, staff was very helpful. Very good breakfast (costs extra). I liked the 'late check out' option. Bed was slightly too narrow for 2 people sleeping comfortably. Pillow was ok. I like to be able to open the windows and having windows open from the top was good. The sound of a fan annoys me and I find it difficult to sleep. I am sorry it is impossible to turn off the a/c fan. Good bathroom, but for some people ( my slightly older husband) having to step over the bath rim to take a shower is difficult. Not changing the towels every day is good and ecological, but it was annoying that they didn't at least empty the rubbish each day. Excellent location--easy walking to the centre and lots of trams. We didn't do it, but you could fold the bed up into the wall and have a 'living room.' The kitchenette was also well equipped if someone wanted to cook. We booked this through the Basel Tourist Office as part of a package to see an art exhibition. A very helpful service.

We stayed in one of the apartments and found it well equipped to high standard and very clean . English TV channels available . Staff very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

The Adagio apts are strategically located as close by to all public transports and walking distance from city centre. Bakeries - supermarkets and good restaurants are nearby. I do definitely recommend it.

I was a fan of Adagio. Have suggested friends for the same hotel. This time my experience was very poor and may not go for this hotel anymore.

We were received by an unfriendly staff member. It felt like he was doing us a favor that we could stay in this place, giving a lot of direct instructions in an unpersonal way. No problem if the rules are clear but there are other ways to communicate. The airconditioning is welcome because the rooms are hot but it is not possible to get them off, obliging us to sleep with the annoying noise of it.

We stop off at the Adagio in Basel every year on our way back from Italy. It is in a great location close to the river and the apartments are really good for a family of 4. Very satisfied.

well located, clean, quiet, uncomplicated, good price

Very clean and efficient hotel. Staff are friendly and approachable. They have taken on many precautions to control the risk of Covid-19. I would say that Accor's decision to close the hotel gyms is now a bit misguided given that the gym around the corner is now open.

The hotel is well located, as expected, with regular trams. We booked an appartment for f. and, unexpectedly, we were able to get the children sleeping in the living room (closing doors) while we slept in the real beds in the bedroom. The rooms could definitely be cleaner, however everything was functional and practical. The place is close to convenient supermarkets, a Coop being a couple of blocks away. We booked the breakfast to please our children who love breakfast buffets, yet it was extremely disappointing, especially compared to the Ibis Styles breakfast we had earlier during our holidays: juices (orange, apple, multivitamin) were horribly synthetic (eventually we bought fresh organic orange juice from the supermarket for our second day), fruits were unripe, yogurts were only available in individual plastic pots, cheese was unappetizing, ham and sausages choice was poor (no Bündnerfleisch), as was muesli choice. The breakfast room was said to be very busy in early hours, so we came late, but on our second day there was no pain au chocolat and only one croissant left. Indeed, due to Coronavirus protocol there were very few seats available, which everyone accept of course, yet only one person was there doing both refills, and cleaning tables and serving in the reception. We would definitely not book breakfasts shall we stay again at this place, and probably Adagios in general.

very comfortable aprt hotel with all facilities. Very close of Rhine river and city center. Very expensive parking.

The welcome was terrible. The person wasn't very nice and pretty arrogant. It turned out he should have checked the flat before we settled in, but he never did. We had no remote for the TV, the fridge we counted on for our food never got cold and the AC was stuck at 27°C. On the plus side; the person at the reception the next morning was very understanding however. I recommend the place for the location, but be very wary of the staff.
