Overall the stay was pleasant except for the evening of May 19th in the bar. The bartender was rude and arrogant. Rolled his eyes when we wanted to sit down at a table and said: that's why he asked us if he could help us. Yes, at first we just wanted to look and decided to take a seat. He condescended to say that it was communication. I will definitely not go to the bar again on my next visit.

The less positive comment concerns the breakfast, since there is no space reserved for diet food. Breakfast is typically English, so it's not healthy. I also would like to highlight the fact that there is no transfer, so I had to hire a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost 20 €, otherwise, I would have to go by train and it would take a long time to reach the destination.

Please let me explain why we do not have a shuttle: We try to be as sustainable as possible, and as we are located next to the train station, which makes our hotel easy to reach. Every 10 minutes there is a train from schiphol to hoofddorp, which will take you 4 minutes. Me and my wife had a great stay at Novotel Amsterdam airport. We enjoyed our stay and room was comfy. My wife and I have enjoyed breakfast first two days of our stay but little disappointed on our check out day since breakfast was not ready until 7.00 am and we’ve to leave at 7.00 am to catch our flight back to London. We found out that breakfast was delayed on 16th May due to power failure in the kitchen area. We were not able to eat our breakfast on that morning so bit disappointed. We really hope this can be improved for our next stay at Novotel. Thank you.

A bit disappointing

I thought Schiphol meant that the hotel would be right next to the airport. But I had to take a regular train and then lug my suitcase down stairs (elevator wasn't working), and on 5 mn to the hotel. It should be clearly stated that the hotel is quite far away. The safe was broken (a nice staff member repaired it. It really was broken) and in the morning at 6 am: the coffee machine wouldn't work. The room was comfortable although I don't now why I was provided a wheelchair accessible room. Wifi worked well.

We do not have a shuttle for the following reasons. We try to be as sustainable as possible, and as we are located next to the train station, which makes our hotel easy to reach. Every 10 minutes there is a train from schiphol to hoofddorp, which will take you 4 minutes. I am sorry that you experienced your travel to our hotel like this. Furthermore i am happy that our colleagues helped you well during your stay. Regarding the room, a disabled room ahs been booked via hotelbeds. If this has been booked accidentally, our front office colleagues are happy to look for possibilities to change rooms in the future. Well located but not really value for money

Plus: The hotel is well located close to Hoofddorp station and the office I was visiting. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff was nice and gave me a good impression. Minus: The cost for the room was high (265 Euro + tax). Breakfast was not included. I paid separately for that and it was ok but not more for what I was paying (20 Euro). At check-in I arrived a couple of hours earlier than normal check-in time and as I had a few minutes I asked if the room was ready and I could check in to leave my luggage. The answer was that the room was ready but that I would be charged an early check-in fee per hour. This is my first experience in any hotel of this. Maybe this is a new thing that will be coming but I was surprised and bit disappointed but ha not problem to wait until I could check in without additional fees.

We have the finest tap water in Europe, so we try to give as less plastic bottles as possible. If you rather not drink from the tap, at the front office we have a water point where bottles can be refilled. If our guests do not have a bottle, We sell reusable water bottles at the front office. The hotel has improved the service. Breakfast is now balanced and good. The parking garage, parking is easier to realize with an upgrade. But still only a Credit Kate is taken (Mastercard), no Amex, no Visa from Ing Diba. At the time the hotel wars byssi with a lot of migrants.
