Stay was fine as it was the first time. Do want to reach out to the bartender (Wednesday 5-Feb around 19:15) who got accused not being impolite. Even keeping up a friendly face was interpreted “he is laughing at me” and the whole deal is, the old woman was going to pick a fight with anyone to make sure to weasel out from her bill. She finished a whole steak and then started complaining about it how bad the steak was. So please for next time keep her out of your hotel, the bartender took all the harassment very professionally and politely, good job man. F vd V. +3…

Room wasn't that warm. No access to Radio, TV was not working well. Shower took along time to heat up. Room looked a bit tacky this time. The pillows smelt like aftershave, I am not sure I was given clean pillow cases. The 2 male receptionist were lovely and helpful.

« Huge comfortable bed and amazing shower »

We loved the character of the hotel, reception staff were polite welcoming and informative. The room was clean, the bed huge and so comfortable, the shower was unbelievably powerful. Not a great view from the window but we didnt pick the hotel for its views and it didnt detract from the experience. Would definitely return as was a very reasonable rate also.

The hotel was well located with a great affiliation to an Indian restaurant next door however, the room I stayed in 412 had the radiator valves stuck open so that the heating system was on full all night with little to no breeze

« too difficult to check in, booking problems »

i had book a room with breakfast and dinner. when i checked in clerk said dinner is not included but pointed me to restaurant that the matter would be sorted out by next morning. what a shocker it wasn't. then later on it was indeed found out i had a breakfast + dinner rate. to make the matter even more ludicrous the clerk on Thursday (jan 16) asked me for balance of Wednesday's dinner because it was over the allowance that no one had been able to inform me of. Of course, I refused to pay. Lame experience, lame service.

« Not ideal hotel, but premium location »

I had alot of expectations checking the hotel online, the rooms looked spacious, luxurious and clean. Well that was my expectation until I have checked in and actually saw the room, ditry walls, carpets are very old, walls are not tall as I'll expect from an old historic place. Also the breakfast, it starts at 7 am and to order omletette or something it will take more than 10 minutes to be raefy, that I sometimes had to skip to catch my train as I usually don't stay more than 15 minutes at the restaurant, What was good about the breakfast was the freshness of the bakery. What made give 6 stars to my review is the location and how it is center.

« Cold and dated room »

Unfortunately My large room was extremely cold with only one radiator working, and not well. The reception team were unable to change my room but did provide an oil filled radiator to help with the cold room. I found the breakfast quite basic too. Overall, I felt the staff were nice to deal with but the hotel was dated and not upto the standard seen in other hotels in the same price bracket.

You had overbooked the hotel and I was informed I'd have to stay in the Ibis around the corner, as this was a business trip I had no option. Having previously stayed at the Ibis it was not a positive experience.

« Lovel comfortable stay »

I always feel welcome at the george. The staff are so lovely and friendly and the breakfast is great. I do like the room I often have but the bed is too big for the room and it makes space very limited. That is the only downside but I do appreciate not having too many stairs to climb. I did have to request my welcome drinks voucher on arrival and was pleased to receive a samll bar of chocolate and some water which was a nice touch

« I feel comfortable but more importantly safe whilst away from home »

I stay approximately 10 days a month at this hotel. The staff are fantastic right from the start when you get to reception, I always get a warm welcome. Bar staff are very good, hospitable and friendly. Rooms are always immaculate and the beds are so so comfortable.

« Not what I was expecting »

Negative things: -Cold room, -No Wi-Fi, - Different hotel than the one I choose through the All Accor App. -I was notice about the hotel change the afternoon before my arrival and obviously I didn’t realise about the mail, so I just knew about the change when I got to the hotel I booked. Positive things: -Staff give us a room on the ground floor to avoid my wife had to go upstairs -They kept our luggage until we left toward the airport -Good location -Staff’s woman attending the breakfast was really nice

The 18th century coaching inn is a stunning setting. Unfortunately other experiences did not match: the bed was far too short for me, the bathroom uncomfortable and the cooked breakfast carelessly prepared.

I was moved from Ibis Styles and 'upgraded' On arrival overwhelming asian food smell that was nauseous On entering room, the window had been left open and it was cold and took some time to heat up One of the roller blinds was broken making the room darker Wifi did not connect Rip off £5 charge to have a basic breakfast in the room Mould on ceiling above wardrobe Dirty bathroom floor and stain in bath No welcome drink
