Perfect location if you wishing to stay in brussels for a few nights before heading back home or onto your next journey. It is slightly out the centre but you have a 25min walk to the Grand Place or can use the metro, Trams or even the electric scooters for half the price! Alot of fun but be careful of rights of way and trams!!! Easier to get round brussels. Now why i give it only a 3 maybe 4 stars its down to a few things. Room: We was upgraded kindly as our visit was a present to my partner for his 40th birthday and family already recommended it. Was extremely spacious with a view looking over to the skyscraper (pension finances i was told) with the Atomium, Which is light up at night. Room Supply: also had a Nespresso coffee machine but 3 different pods but no idea what strengh they was (glad i took my 3-in-1 Nescafé sticks, that coffee was too strong for me) but also they only provides two tiny tin pots of milk. which literally did enough for one cup. So we ended up buying our own milk from the store in the station (really good prices if you wanted a pastry or essentials). Was supplied with a little sowing kit, shower cap, nail file, cotton pads and buds and slippers, but no rope. Reading up once in the room only get ropes if you stay in an upgraded room from superior. Bathroom was perfect but also noticed the toilet is seperate to the sink!!! Furniture: Bed really big (superking i would say) comfy but the pillows were weird! Once was a large square size and soft. the other half the size, rectangular and quite firm. most of the night you was swapping the pillows round to get comfy! Breakfast: I WOULD NOT BOTHER! The price was €26 working out at £21/22 with the current exchange rate. The food was poor. The toaster didn't work. very little fruit juices to pick from. Cooked breakfast, bacon was parma ham. sausages are more of a cocktail sausages put in a warmer. beans were cold. only one type of eggs available in a warm, which was scrambled. Was not worth £44 for two people!! we only did it cause we was room only and that day was planning to be out till about 8pm. Hotel reception and staff: The staff were very welcoming and helpful but it was all confusing when checking in and out. They don't tell you they want €50 per night as a deposit, on top of your total stay! The gentleman behind the desk at both time, Sebastian was lovely but i am glad my partner was with me as he didn't explain things in a correct order. After coming to some sort of understanding as we had to leave for the airport. I don't believe what i paid was correct. Something just doesn't sit right with it all. I recommend if you do stay to pay in advance and be aware of the surprise deposit on arrival! I was gobsmacked when he said it and i refused to pay for 3 nights €150! I only agreed on €50 alone! I would stay again as we plan to go back to brussels but travel to different countries and city's along the way but i will pay in advance and not be having breakfast and confirm before arrival i am not paying a deposit. By the way... this also wasn't stated on booking.com website.

Check in as always great, disappointing to hear yet another quality front office staff member is leaving. Housekeeping is good, they even turned down my bed which was a nice touch. WiFi, still too sporadic. Breakfast, not to put too much of a fine point on it breakfast is poor. Since Claudia left on promotion it’s gone downhill. Luis leaving the waiting staff didn’t help. The staff serving apart from Nicholas, Christian and a few others lack any sort of sparkle, the feeling I get is they would rather not be there. The food, croissants poor, heat lamp still gets forgotten to be put on at times. This time they tasted of olive oil instead of butter. One of the breads forgotten, bread knife not sharp enough,. The same hot food selection and still that disgusting slop you call scrambled eggg straight out of a carton. Omelettes mediocre one guy can do a half decent one, the other clueless. Means well I am sure.Fresh orange juice gone, replaced by concentrate, ocasional Panna cotta not seen anymore. You used to have beautiful yogurts in glass pots now it’s out of a machine and quite frankly tasteless and the freeze dried accompaniment’s look uninviting. I understand d you want to meet environment targets, but while you are trying to save the planet, more processed food is given. I have been out of the industry for over 30 years and I have been coming to this hotel for over 5 years things should be better in the kitchen. I only say these things because I care. I had 3 of my breakfasts away from the hotel, that’s a new record for me. Sorry to be so damming, but it’s got that bad.

I used the online check in and express check out to avoid waiting in line. Both worked well. However: - the online check in was complex and required more information than an in person check in would do. - the final invoice ignored my choice of billing address different to my Accor profile address.
