« Although looks and smells old, the hotel room is actually still quite well »

Very nice bed, not too soft nor too hard. Very good shower pressure and water quality, very difficult to find in Bali. Nice wood floor. Room looks old and when we enter the room, we can smell the 'old' stuff.

I bring my team, and they get first the room instead of me, why? because the hotel not prepare my room, 3 days before I stay, I got email form hotel, should be they know my arrival, 7 years ago I always used tis hotel for meeting and bring group but not today... the towel need maintain, and the second day, they don't change my bath towel thanks

The hotel itself is very nice, it has a good sized pool, decent restaurant, large rooms and amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Everyone was so nice and polite and accommodating. My only criticism on the hotel would be the very poorly equipped gym and the fact the hotel is located 2 blocks from a mosque which means you'll be woken up quite early every day or throughout the day if you work on EU shifts.

« Inexpensive but pleasant »

After two thirds of our holiday at Seminyak and Candi Dasa we spent our final six night at this Hotel. Appeared to be usual Mercure standard but we found some drawbacks. Service and counter staff very pleasant and helpful. Restaurant capable and will go out of their way to satisfy customers, Manage during our stay was Cintra. Rooms areas expected, but definitely lacking in housekeeping capabilities. We had to call and get toilet cleaned and mosquitos removed from room. The whole Hotel is let down with poor housekeeping throughout, PITY. Location seemed a long way from Kuta but there are three free shuttles per day to drop you off at whichever Mall or beach you want. Getting home is your responsibility. Discovered after the first day that there is a Galleria duty free and Shopping Mall with Hypermarket and good quality shops as well as food outlets, all about 15 minutes walk, but beware of NO FOOTPATHS and oncoming motorway traffic. Good convenience store with snacks and coffees etc just 5 inutes walk to the right as you leave the hotel. Pool facilities were adequate, but a second umbrella was aquired for the four loungers beside the pool. In six days we did not see any activity to clean or vacuum the pool, consequently there is a lot of built up sand and leaves etc resting on the floor. With goggles the pool shows a need for a constant clean. Hotel is not what we expect for Mercure Hotel., needs a major makeover to continue with Mercure name. Our stay was pleasant and we praise, Front of House, Restaurant staff, Kitchen staff........definitely not housekeeping or management,

« Great access yet some loud guests »

The hotel is located in a great and accessible location in Kuta, yet some 10 or so loud male guests hanging around in the hotel corridor, smoking and laughing and keeping their doors open disturbed my night sleep. I even woke up at 2 am due to their noises. Complained at the reception and security did help (but not after 2 times during the night).

When I first arrived the room was filled with quite a smelly cigarette Damp musky smell, I asked if I was able to move rooms however was told I would need to wait(which I was happy with) a few minutes later I had someone bring an Air Freshener to the Room to assist with the smell which helped but only for a short time so I just let it be.. One other downside was the small pillows which are laid on the sleeping pillows were very dirty and had a strong smell of sweat and dirt. Overall my stay was fine but a few things to work on with the cleanliness of the rooms.

The hotel is within walking distance to shops, factory outlets and shopping malls. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As a Platinum member, i was offer a complimentary ride to the international airport which i am very happy. The room ambiance is very relaxing and i had a very good sleep because the bed is very comfortable. Overall, i can say the hotel has everything i ask for.

Dissapointed, could not use the bar or lounge, food quality has gone down, toaster at breakfast is bad. Welcome drink is only for juice or tea/coffee, firstly your orange juice is not fresh juice and I do not drink tea/coffee at that time of the day. Therefore the welcome drink voucher is useless, other hotels at least offer beer. The price of using the shuttle is also too high, taxi is much cheaper, it has also become less convenient due to having to travel the whole way up the roundabout just to get to Kuta or to Sunset road. We have been using your hotel for years, but, now the time has come to move to a different hotel.

« Staff were great, room not so much »

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we cannot thank the security staff enough for their help with crossing the road several times! The room was nice but didn't have much in the way of sound insulation. We could easily hear noises and talking from people in the hallway, next room and outside. It didn't help that the window mechanism was broken and prevented the window from shutting properly. The biggest grievance was (admittedly not the hotel's fault as such) that ridiculously early in the morning the speaker from the mosque was blaring directly at our room. It was stupidly loud and annoying. I would have thought that better sound insulation would have been put in the rooms because of that. The food and drink was very good, but the shower was pretty hopeless as the showerhead didn't want to stay up. The place was better than other accommodation we stayed at in Bali, but I wouldn't rate it 4 star.
