Had a two night stay at the property, and there were issues on both nights. First the good part, the hotel is located in a good area with shops and restaurants and bookstores and a cinema. The metro is really close and the room was well appointed. But on the first night I could hardly sleep because the air con was set on test and it would turn on and turn off every half an hour. And on the second night we went to have breakfast and it was bedlam, there were no cups for coffee, no glasses, the tables were all dirty, and there was a single person to replenish things, clean up and take the name of the guests. I don't blame the single worker, because imagine having to cover evertything, I blame the manager which did not properly staff the restaurant at the peak hour, and not even showed up to help.

It would be better if there were rooms for non-smokers. I had to ask for two towels for the face as the ones there were for the bath. My card key didn't work for the door of the room.

Very Bad Experience. Air conditioning was not working!!!

I arrived very late at night and had to change rooms 4 times because the first 3 times the air conditioning was not working. Maintenance should be done and this was not the case. After changing the room 4 times I was very disappointed and in the room I stayed in the air stopped working after a couple of hours. I paid for a room with air conditioning and they didn't give it to us. Very bad experience, the facilities should work fine. What a shame.

The hotel itself is good. Clean, good breakfast and accommodation. But the staff is not that good. They have bad mood and do not respond to your questions, what makes you feel uncomfortable. They some training on how to receive guests.

Well located, but bad cleaning

The room was comfortable and the location is great, but cleaning was not good. The shampoo was ripped off, so it was used by another guest and not replaced. There was a lot of hair on the sink. The breakfast bread was not fresh, it tasted old.

It took so long to check in. It took so long to get a replacement room key. Many customers waiting to check in/check out. I took photos. The process is extremely slow. 2 staff to help each other and process one customer. The staff did not use my name. Not gave me a drink voucher. I’m platinum. The staff are nice. Not rude. But very inexperienced (poor training) and shy. The area is great. Excellent value. Thank you for allowing me to use last years non refundable reservation for this year. Because I was not vaccinated last year and could not travel. The corridor of level 3 was not air conditioned and very hot. The house keeping staff did excellent job. Very sweet. Always greet me and very good and their jobs.

It is a pitty. It was my third stay ar this hotel. They charged my credit card on the day of the online check in and again after my check out. I am traveling and moving to another state right now and it is difficult for me this boring thing of complaining calling the hotel. Well, I called and they said that I will need send my credit card bill extract to them to proof that I did not pay twice...

Hotel is located for business around the Botafogo and downtown area. Near to the subway station. Hotel reception is very kind, and service was also very nice. Room service must be improved. Specially, bath products (soap and shampoo) should be replaced every day which did not happen.

The last two stay at this hotel was a bit stressful. We stayed at this hotel a few times and it was never outstandinga, but the last two stays were a bit stressful. It begins with the parking service, I´m sure the parking staff thinks they are doing us a favour. On the previous stay I made reservation in my name, but my husband arrived first, the lady that was at the reception was very rude to the point of saying that I had to do the check-in not him, but she was going to make an exception "this time only", her words, and let him check-in but changed the reservation to his name. This second time, again I made the reservation in my name and even though I had something else to do I went to do the check-in with my husband to avoid any problem. Arrived at the reception, announced myself and that I was there to check-in, and then comes a sequence of totally unnencessary questions, Are you here with someone else? Yes, my husband. Where is he? Dealing with the car park. Are you both checking in? Yes. Are you going to wait for him? No. Ok, them we finally get going with the check-in and when she finally gets my name she says, "Oh! I remember you too, you´ve been here before." Yes, we have. So, check-in done and she says that my husband needs to sign the paper too. Fine, I know that is standard procedure, So, he arrives, sign the paper and hand it back to the receptionist. Then, there comes the question that sounded a lot more like a suspicion and made me loose my patience that was already hanging by a thread. She goes "I need to make sure I have the correct CPF number, what is your CPF number?" So, my husband said, well let me see the paper and I´ll tell you if you got it right. To resume, she wanted him to say it just so to make sure he was who he was saying he was. Hello!!! Remember you said you remembered us? Didn´t like the suspcious. She should had been more professional and asked for his ID and not ask him to confirm his CPF number so she can be sure it is him. To top it up you coffee and milk out of the machine is the most disgusting thing ever. Needless to say, IBIS Botafogo is at the very bottom of my list.

It was good to stay at Ibis Botafogo. I paid a good price for a good hotel and awesome localization. I was able to go to Copacabana Beach walking only twenty minutes. Also I ate at good restaurants near from the hotel and the subway was near as well.
