It was a short stay in the city centre of Nanjing. The Reception and Premium Lounge staff is really friendly. Especially Manager Sunny. Very professional, very attentive, very polite, very smiling. I felt so welcomed. Thank you so much for your hospitality and great care. Will be glad to come back there again.

The Front Office Staffs especially the Manager, Sunny Jiang were excellent, very friendly and very helpful. Our getting around on public transports were their effort. Our requests in our online booking were all met especially our late check out. Our thanks to them for a wonderful stay although it was only for a night. Will stay there again in my next trip.

The hotel is very close to metro station (Xin Jie Kou). Great service and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of choices. I enjoyed my stay very much and will definitely stay at this hotel when I visit Nanjing next time.

All staff from check in to concierge to catering were excellent. Restaurant above average with very good 'hot pot' deal . BUT air conditioning is switched off to rooms so have to order a fan!!! Not acceptable for a Novotel class hotel

I have tried the hot pot dinner buffet after checked in first night. There is CNY10 different for walk-in customers (CNY109) and hotel guest (CNY99). The food was really bad, no matter raw for hot pot or cooked food. First, not much options, second and also the worst is taste of food was really bad. Third is cannot imagine the service of the restaurant in a 4 stars hotel was like this. Regarding the breakfast, although the service is comparatively better than dinner, the options for food is also limited.

Centrally located, easy access to subway and bullet trains, well-positioned for a long weekend sightseeing. A bit more explanation on in house dining options would have been useful eg in room menus including a la carte, prices etc.

During my stay, 2 rooms on the floor where my room is at were used for interviewing. This has caused people crowding in the corridor and has also compromised safety. Key card is needed to access the floors, so how did so many people got up without the hotel staff noticing. I think the hotel knew about the interviews and allowed it in the rooms.

Poorly maintained hotel

I've been staying in this hotel a couple of times, only to find it was poorly maintained. For the recent 2 nights I stayed at the hotel, the first night found water leaking from the air-conditioner. After changing room for the second night, water was leaking from the sink in the wash room. What a pity for the hotel at such a great location!Upon check-out, counter staff was very polite and apologized for the inconveniences caused. I always feel the hotel staff is friendly and helpful but I feel sad that the hotel is poorly maintained. I doubt if I should stay in the same hotel next time or some other place.

From check in to check out, staff were very efficient, prompt and caring. The hotel was very clean and neat. They provided some free drinks in the lobby which we thought was thoughtful because after being out (in the heat), we needed that drink! Room was clean and spacious and came with 2 pillows per person! We booked our rooms with breakfast as we read many reviews that said the breakfast was excellent, and it didn't disappoint us! There are many staff whom I need to praise but didn't get their names. When we were on our floor, we met the lady who cleaned our rooms, she asked us our room numbers and said if there are anything that we needed, just give her a shout. We find this very friendly. The supervisor, Lisa, at the restaurant, after greeting us on our first breakfast and asked what we wanted to drink, she remembered it and on the following days, she made those drinks for us! These are the nice little things that touched us and made us felt at home.

Satisfied with the stay at Novotel Central Nanjing. Location is good. Breakfast staff are courteous and helpful. Coffee was good. However, the lady staff in charge of the noodles stall could be better trained at handling customer's request. She doesn't seem to be happy serving the customers, to me she was just doing her job as her job. Appreciate the self service free drink at the lobby after long day walk.

Room was comfortable and clean. However the quality of the mattress was soft. Breakfast was fantastic and staff at breakfast service were very attentive. The location of the hotel is good, near to metro which had underground shops and was connected to several shopping malls.

I asked for a smoking room and I then found out the room was on a floor that permits smoking. I had to request a change to a non-smoking floor for a non-smoking room and I was glad that the change was made without a fuss. We kind of expected smoking should be phased out from indoor building and we are sensitive about this when coming from abroad. The front desk should be made better awareness of this issue,

Executive Lounge Experience at Novotel Nanjing Central Hotel

We got upgraded to the executive floor with lounge access upon check in. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. They actually sent a birthday cake to our room for my husband's birthday. However, the lounge experience was very unpleasant. We went to the lounge at 6:30 pm after check in for a drink. There was not a single guest in it which is unusual. We stayed for a drink and left. Next day around 5 pm we went to the lounge with 2 friends to have a drink and no one was there again. The staff was very rude and said we are only allowed 2 people since we only had one room with lounge access. My friends left and the staff told us that our lounge access was due to complimentary upgrade or we wouldn't even have access rights. That was rude. We travel many times in a year and access to many different lounges in Hilton and Marriott. Never had this situation. In fact we were in the Marriortt Shanghai just before we went to Nanjing and we always gathered in the executive lounges with our friends. Now we understand why they had no one use the lounge because of bad service. Other than the lounge, the hotel itself and other staff were fine.

This is a very nice hotel at the heart of shopping malls that carry many international brands. However, the reception staff wasn't that friendly and I would say not up to par of international hotel standards. We were disappointed at the front desk reply when we requested for a late check out being a member of Accorplus Gold member. They were annoyed when we ask for the small request. However, we are grateful of a staff named Robin as he helped us to carry luggage from lobby to the taxi which was parked quite far away from the lobby area despite the rain. He was patient and he was a bit wet when he loaded our luggage into the taxi. Keep up the good work. His dedication and service will be remembered.

Your hotel has an excellent location, it's so convenient and easily to reach all attractions in Nanjing. And your staff are very good as well. My daughter mentioning she is very hot at the lobby, your reception staff give her a soft drinks, she keeps on mentioning this after she came back from China, it's worth of giving a can of soft drinks away.

Hotel is clean and the rooms look relatively new. Some of the hotel staff manning the front desk speak poor English and we had trouble speaking over the phone with someone who could tell us what was the nearest metro station to the hotel. The check out took a long time because the staff wanted us to pay on departure what we already "prepaid" online. Apparently there was some confusion about the meaning of "Prepaid"?
