Rich breakfast, friendly stuff. Staff very well prepared and trained. There was an evacuation without panic in the event of a fire hazard. Stuff gave instructions and solved all problems.

Usual efficient welcome; clean and tidy room. Plus the front desk staff were great in responding to a nasty fall I had outside the hotel. I was very shaken and they brought me a cup of tea and were keen to check if I needed anything else. Can’t remember their names - sorry.

« Over firm pillows »

This is a great hotel just a few yards from Southark tube station or a short stroll from London Waterloo. The bar area is comfortable, the rooms are well lit and well designed. The only issue I had were the rock hard pillows which made it difficult to get to sleep and when I woke up I had a terrible crick in my neck. I know I probably could have got up, got dressed again and gone downstairs to ask for some softer ones at reception,assuming reception had access to the housekeepers store of course, but it was late and I just wanted to sleep. I wont make the same mistake again, I'll either take a travel pillow or ask for a soft one at checkin but really, how they expect anyone to get a decent nights sleep with these over full over hard horrors I don't know.

OK, even on the 12th floor it was extremely noisy hotel to stay in. Windows doing nothing in sound proofing. Never have this issue at the Premier Inn.

« Out-dated room, no preventive maintenance. Service was OK »

I have stayed in different Ibis hotels in the city of London, unfortunately this one was not the best one. At booking I requested for a room on the top floor. I was allocated on the 6th floor (of 13 floors). Which could happen. But the room was really out dated. The door of the bathroom was damaged. One lamp was broken in the room, which was immediately fixed after reporting this, but then another light in the room (bathroom) was broken too after that. It was fixed immediately after reporting again, but clearly there is no preventive maintenance in this hotel. The curtains were broken. At breakfast I was assigned to a table. so I took my tray, got my breakfast and when I returned to my assiged table somebody else was assigned to that table too. No operational system there. Breakfast does not have regular meats and cheeses. Only thick parts of Ham and big chucks of cheese where you have to cut off with a knive. There was no normal slices to put on bread. The service in general at the reception was great! Very friendly and took care of my points I mentioned about the broken lamps. But the issues above overtook my feeling of discomfort. The above mentioned issues is not something I am used to of an Ibis hotel. Next year I have to be in London again, but I have booked another Ibis hotel this time.

« Birthday Break in London »

We stayed two nights as part of Jim’s 70th birthday celebrations. We have stayed in Ibis Hotels before and are members of the Accor scheme so got a good rate. When I rang to say I had broken my ankle, the hôtel said they would allocate a room near to the lift which was great. We had breakfast one morning which was excellent and a drink at the bar on two occasions. Staff called taxis when asked and were very helpful.
