Nice hotel but as soon as I got into my room I could just feel the dust everywhere. It was like the room hadn’t been cleaned in a year! It felt really dirty.

I can assure you that all our bedrooms are cleaned each day after a guest stay, however I will pass your comments onto housekeeping to ensure that this does not occur again in the future. The prices for the bedrooms change on a daily basis depending on the availability of the hotel. Should you book a free cancellation stay, you are welcome to amend your bookings up to 2 pm on the arrival day, however we are contactable via email or phone 24/7 and would have been more than delighted to do the modifications for you. A clean well managed hotel. Although I am not too sure about the 'quirky' styling. I think this will date very quickly and will begin to look tired soon. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay more pleasurable.

Lovely stay yet again at the Mercure George street! Arrived and much to our surprise we had been upgraded to a bigger room, which was beautifully decorated and cleaned to a very high standard. Lovely people on reception that would greet us every time we left or came back into the hotel, and even recommended places for breakfast outside of the hotel! Brill location and the discounted parking was a life saver! My second time staying at this hotel, and will definitely be staying again! Absolutely recommend to anybody looking for a nice quirky hotel in the city centre!

Liked how quirky the hotel was and the room. Really big bathroom with bath and shower, very impressed. Very comfy bed and loved having a fridge in the room.

Loved it. Real old hotel and loved the creaky floorboards and sense of history. Breakfast was absolutely top notch. Slight mix up with seating at second breakfast but that was dealt with courteously and efficiently. Overall excellent and would go again.

Lovely welcome at reception. Comfortable room & bed with everything I needed. Breakfast was nice apart from the coffee which wad just about the worst coffee I’ve had in years! Sophia & colleague on front desk were very nice & accommodating.

Not a great night sleep

The hotel is very centrally located which was good but because of this it was hard to get a good nights sleep, we where the 1st room from where the lift was located and we where constantly disturbed by people drunk and shouting getting of the lift try to find there room. This finally stopped at 2.30 but then at 4 there where shop alarms going off and that was it then I couldn’t get back to sleep.

Don’t visit till the road work nightmare that is Nottingham city centre is completed! Communication from the hotel to pre warm on Thai should have been sent before we had checked in Booked the large meeting room for the day and had confirmation of this. Very surprised on the day to find out the room for 50 people had been double booked!! First answer was just sorry nothing we can do. Fortunately the female receptionist got involved and sorted

Great location and great price and comfy bed but the room was very hot on floor 3 which led to an uncomfortable nights sleep.

Clean room, but noisy

Room was great. It was really noisy and the fire alarm went off twice. Not been paid my deposit back yet either after paying cash for both nights stay. Students were sat up the stair case which was dangerous for people going up and down the stairs.

Due to the bar on the ground floor ( not part of our business, managed and owned by a separate company ) when their alarm sounds it in turn triggers ours. It appears they had a fault which we have worked with them to have fixed due to the disturbance it caused our guests. I apologise once again for this disturbance. A pre authorisation was taken prior to you staying with us and then when paying cash the pre auth is released. This can take up to 5 working days to release. This totally depends upon your own bank as to when they will recognise this. Thank for for your kind and encouraging comments about your room and cleanliness standards which I will be sure to share with the housekeeping team. We thank you for having chosen to stay with us on this occasion and very much hope we will have the pleasure of being able to welcome you back again in the future. A mixed bag

Good hotel which I'd stayed in before, however, this time I had a Standard room (I think they call it a 'City Room' or something similar) which was extremely small for two people to and the one we stayed with had an air conditioning unit the size of a small van outside the window which didn't shut down at all, meaning that sleep was intermittent even with the window closed and earplugs in. Previous room was overlooking the street and was spacious, quite and comfortable, and would warrant a solid 'five' for sleep quality and room categories ....you get what you pay for. Staff and location excellent regardless.
