I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I can see you booked one of our Standard King rooms. These are one of our smaller room grades with our City Pad rooms being the smallest. Room 324 is in fact one of our larger Standard King rooms and I am sorry this seemed to have fallen short of your expectations. Our Privilege rooms and Suites are larger and may be more ideal for you should additional space be of more importance. Poor response on arrival, could not find the booking, and the rest was very average until we left. Bathroom was a disgrace as very dated and dirty looking for one of the best rooms in the hotel . The room was very tired but thank goodness we paid for the better or gof knows what we would have got.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I have looked into the reason for the reservation taking some time to be found. I can see when you made the booking upon booking.com you placed your first name in the surname section and your surname into the forename section. This is how the reservation is created due to how you chose to put your details. It is for this reason when reception typed in your surname your reservation could not be found initially. I apologize should this have caused you any inconvenience. I am further very sorry for the room not having met your expectations. The room will be inspected by myself, my housekeeping and maintenance managers to see where improvement could be made. Your feedback is well received. With regards to the fire alarm, unfortunately the separate business located next door to the hotel had one of their fire alarm call points broken by a member of the public. Due to being attached to that business our own alarm sounds for the safety of our guests. I apologize for this disruption that was caused to you, caused by no fault of our own. Hi... We stayed in room 306 for 2 nights and were happy with the location of the Hotel. There were positives and negatives with the stay. The staff were all friendly and we liked the attached Curious Tavern. The breakfast was excellent as was the service at breakfast. Everything was nice and freshly cooked. We had a shower that leaked badly and although this was looked at by maintenance, it was not fixed, and I did say it was not likely to be fixed at reception as its clearly poorly designed, with water pooling down by the toilet...the main issue being that there was a large gap where water could drip down under the door. Also there was no inner door handle so opening and closing it was a bit of an issue. The shower tray was very slippery and both my wife and I almost lost our grip. The maid service failed to replace the single shower gel, we had to ask, as we did for tea and coffee which wasn't replaced either during Saturdays cleaning of the room. I do think in this day and age that water should also be provided. We also had to ask for a new loo roll as the one we had was very low. These kind of things really should be done without having to ask for them. We both felt the lighting was very poor in the room, we are all for saving energy but this does need to be addressed. Maybe that could be improved by painting the area around the TV a colour warmer than dark grey. That probably didn't help. So, a bit mixed, but we would like to stay again and hopefully have no problems...

« Great hotel in a fantastic location »

Me and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the town centre for restaurants and bars, and also the Motorpoint Arena where we went to see a concert. This hotel was perfect for us! The room itself was clean and spacious. The bed was comfy and we both had a great nights sleep. The buffet breakfast was also great, and all staff were friendly and happy to help. The customised check in and check out method when booking this hotel was good and the hotel was good value for money. We will definitely be returning next time we stay in Nottingham as we had a lovely stay

Room was freezing cold, heating struggled to heat the entire room due to unit being above the door and not in main space where bed was. Not a good nights sleep.

The hotel was very comfortable and had everything you could need. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. There was even drinks in the fridge in our room which was a great touch. Staff friendly and great breakfast too

We only stayed for one night on New Years Eve in a City Pad room. Overall our stay was excellent - friendly welcome, comfortable bed and room was nice and quiet.

« Great location, comfortable bed, hearty breakfast. »

The hotel is extremely well situated for the city centre. As some reviews mention you get some noise but it’s a price you pay for the location. I didn’t find it a problem. Also the rooms aren’t particularly warm. I found it better to not have the heating in at all as it seemed to make the room colder. Overall I had a great 2 night stay and would definitely use the Mercure again.
