Good city centre stay in Nottingham

Reasonable hotel booked at the last minute. One of the oldest hotels in Nottingham in a 200 year old building right in the heart of the city. Was a bit nervous that we could suffer quite a bit of noise from a very busy Nottingham on the Saturday night we stayed but our room on the 4th floor was quiet with just a background hum from the late night revellers that didn't disturb us. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. The room and bathroom are a bit tired and could do with some updating. We had a Nespresso machine but it has just 3 capsules so a bit on the mean side. Key issue was heating. The air handling unit didn't work (was displaying an amber indicator light) whatever we set the temperature to and the room was a bit on the cool side but OK for us. In the morning just as we were leaving the amber light went off and the unit came to life. We also couldn't get the heated towel rail in the bathroom to work. The bath is very slippery if using the shower and no anti-slip mat was available.

Very basic bathroom, sofa bed unnecessary and falling apart, mouldy bathroom ceiling, brokenand untidy fake foliage outside windows.

There was a smoke Alarm directly above the bed. In the darkness of the room it lit up the whole room periodically which meant sleep was difficult

Friendly reception and a large apparently newly decorated and renovated room. Breakfast was excellent and all for less than £80. And Parking was subsidised. Worse thing was the one way system to get to the car park and then getting luggage to the hotel - but only 5 mins walk

Feedback: -Most staff helpful and friendly -One of the rooms smelt strongly of someone being ill (sick) in the room -Not very smart for the staff to choose a room facing onto a busy street (very loud until 4am on Sunday morning, with people 'partying' on the street outside) for the extra bed for a 3 year old to try to sleep -TV not tuned to have basic channels (BBC etc) -Light switch next to bed broken and covered with some tape -Breakfast good

Had a fabulous stay over in this hotel, beautiful decor and right in the heart of the city! Lovely atmosphere, along with amazingly comfortable room (biggest bed we have stayed in!) and great breakfast...with of course second to non service! Can't fault the Nottingham Mecure at all!

Rooms were comfy, staff was helpful, breakfast was great. Slight issue with noise, was repeatedly woken up by parties on the streets outside despite being on the third floor. Took a moment to find the kettle, not sure why that was hidden away

Stayed in a double room was quite tight for space but was not in the room much, location is brilliant it is loud of a night and the rooms can get warm. I would stay again.

Too very tired, bathroom very tired. Air conditioning unit extremely noisey couldn’t sleep with it on, room too hot without it. Staff very friendly, helpful, courteous.

2 night stay in a privilege room, staff very welcoming and friendly, room decor was great, and breakfast very good. A couple of minor issues with cleanliness of the room but were only minor and didn't spoil the stay
