Very friendly and welcoming staff, thanks to Peter and Darren from Reception, they have been very helpful. In walking distance you can find Restaurants and Bars, 10 min to Nottingham Station or you can use the Tram.

Rooms could use attention

I had concerns about the cleanliness of my room. There were streaks and smears on the walls, which is the first thing i noticed when I walked in. The baseboards were also very dirty. The shower grout should also be bleached and scrubbed. When i climbed onto my bed to see if I could lift the curtain (which I was never able to do) I noticed a thick layer of dust on the bed frame and shelving/decorative items. The staff at the Mercure was friendly and helpful, so this is not a reflection on them. However, addressing these cleanliness issues will make guests feel more at ease.

This Mercure hotel is located in the centre of Nottingham and is ideal for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of the city. The service is excellent and the additional cost of the breakfast is well worth it. We stayed in a City Pad which was fine for one night. Compact and bijou but the room was clean, well appointed with a safe, tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing board included. Plenty of good quality towels. We were located at the back of the hotel so outside noise wasn't a problem. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a peaceful nightcap in the 1st floor bar well attended to by the delightful Megan. All in all, a good, slightly quirky hotel and we look forward to returning for a 4th visit.

Heated towel rack would not turn off, room was boiling. External vent outside the room was incredibly noisy and the air conditioning unit did not work - would not let us alter the temperature. Bathroom was very poorly tiled and some of the bulbs in the lamps did not work. Not a nice room to stay in. Hotel was well located
