« Not what would you expect from a Mecure Hotel »

Fantastic location, room a decent size however the positives end there. Reception staff were un-interested and borderline rude at arrival and when departing the following morning. Arrived at 4:15pm, room was not ready until 4:50pm, despite check-in being available from 14:00. Poor access for guests with luggage (numerous steps). Loud noise from building site next door until 6pm, no mention of this when booking the room, or when at reception. Had I known this I would not have stayed as I had just returned to the UK following a 13hr flight from Tokyo, this hotel could really learn a lot from the hospitality received from the hotels in Japan, they were polite, helpful, and felt genuinely welcoming when arriving at the hotel, complete opposite to the experience encountered here. Bathroom very small. Breakfast OK, however concept very strange and not what you would expect from a Mecure Hotel. It feels very much like Mecure simply have to have a hotel close to Paddington, and this was the only option for them. The reception area reminds me of a cheap B&B in Blackpool. A lot of money paid, for a below average product, and I will not be returning.

« The smallest hotel bathroom in the world! »

The best part about this hotel is its location. The size of our room was reasonable but the bathroom was so small, it was almost impossible to dry yourself unless you stayed in the bath. We estimated the floor area to be 1.1m x 1.1 m. In that space, were the toilet and hand basin. There wasn’t even enough space for a normal toilet roll holder. We found the staff neither particularly friendly nor helpful and difficult to communicate with. The air conditioner was so noisy, we couldn’t use it.

But we do have toilet roll holder in all the bath rooms in the hotel. Also I will really appreciate if you can let me know in detail please about the team members who were unfriendly and unhelpful. Usually we receive very good comments about our team members and they are an asset to the company. A refresher training on customer service will be delivered to the entire team. Wer will get the air condition checked and rectified but would have appreciated if we were given a chance to rectify the air condition noise whilst your stay with us. « Nice hote with friendly staff. But standard room is extremely small. »

The standard room is extremely small. Nothing like the pictures on the website. A 1.35m wide bed is NOT suitable for two adults. So the first night we almost had no sleep. However, after complaining the next morning, the receptionist Francisco was very polite and helpfull. He apologised and upgraded us to a larger room. From there on we've had a lovely stay. Breakfast is in the next door restaurant Garfunkels and is a la carte. This is better then most buffets, however they also allow external guests, which makes it very busy and sometimes you have to wait a while to be seated. Furthermore the location on top of Padding station is very well for sightseeing, if you don't mind hearing the trains depart every few minutes.

Staff was great. There were several issues with the room. First, the hot water was much too hot. It was impossible to get hot water in the sink without scalding your hand. I got the shower to a good temperature, but every 30 seconds or so, it would shoot out scalding hot water as well. The wifi was constantly disconnecting my devices. Every time my phone screen locked, I had to re-register. The bedding was also not great. There was only the comforter, which was very heavy and also too short to reach the top of the bed. Finally, between the noise of the construction, the A/C/heater, the subway that sounded like it was going through my room, and the bright lights shining in the window, it was very hard to sleep.

Booked a room for day use. It may have had a double bed but the room can only be described as a single. The two of us could not have stayed overnight. A Premier Inn would be much better,

We had to visit 3 rooms upon arrival until we got a room that was cleaned. Then we found out the sink was almost clogged and the earplugs provided are very very dirty. Noise was horrible : Trains making the building vibrate (even on the 4th floor, until midnight), noise in the corridor made by hotel staff every morning, and work chantier in the street. Our key was disabled every evening so we had to visit the reception every day to reactivate it. Food smell is dominant in the hotel (coming from cheap fast-food places outside) We had to ask for the welcome drinks (provided for accord members) and in the end no real juice was available ... To end up : the bed wasn’t comfortable as the one in many other Mercure hotels we stayed in.

The room is so noisy that they provide earplugs. It was a room set up for a wheelchair and the bathroom flooded when I used the shower. Their 'system' was down so they could not give me a receipt for my stay, but promised that they would email it to me. Still waiting, and I can't claim it on my expenses until I receive it.

I stayed at Mercure Paddington for a short family vacation. it's a typical business hotel but was also perfect for families. The location is perfect with easy access to the underground or a 15 min walk to Oxford Street. The front desk staff were very friendly and service minded.

It was a good experience I was expecting a room category for which i was qualifying but was not entertained. I think they could have . Also i was given the Welcome Drink Voucher after i asked for Also the room was given at 12 noon whereas i arrieved at 10am

Apologies that we couldn't offer you an upgrade as we were fully booked in all our executive room types and also couldn't offer you an early check-in as we were fully booked the previous night and had to wait for the guest to check out get the room cleaned and than check you in. Our official check in time is 2pm but we still gave you a room at 12 noon. Refresher training will be done with an entire team as the drink voucher for all our guests should be given straight on the check-in and the guest don't have to wait or ask for it. « Very convenient for Paddington Station. »

The hotel room with its tea/coffee-making facilities provided the right environment for daytime relaxation before taking the Heathrow Express to the airport for an evening flight. The location immediately adjacent to Paddington Station was a great plus and the price was fair considering the location. However, having been offered the choice when booking online between a small double room and a standard double room, I specifically chose the standard double room (at a price premium) only to find that the room I was allocated (501) was suspiciously small. I didn't have the time or energy to question this on the spot, but it did leave me with the feeling that I had not got what I had paid for.
