very disappointed with the breakfast.the 1 sausage was obviously left over from the previous day,that along with the bacon and mushrooms were all cold,beans were the only thing that was warm

Original booked at Paddington Hotel but was notified of change to Hyde Park near by in good time No problem TV system washing reset when I arrived about 6pm so no TV until about 10pm

I arrived quite late at the hotel, I booked it because I was there a few times and it’s close to Paddington station, I had an early flight. When I arrived there, the entrance was full with trash and a sign was on the door in the dark, checking is somewhere else. It’s was the Mercure Hyde Park, I didn’t get any Information, I have nothing to do then walking thru London in the night. The receptionist didn’t open the door for 10 min, forgot my drink voucher and even will al the states she didn’t gave me an upgrade (platinum member).

My first impression, arriving from LHR Airport around 8am was not good. The reception didn't acknowledge us with a Hello, Good Morning, I we will be with you in a moment, two people were dealing with another guest we didn't have help getting into the reception area. I spoke with the manager later that day and he was very apologetic and I advised him of a few other little complaints. After that, he addressed his staff and was grateful that I had spoken with him. He handled himselfin a very professional manner.The room was spacious, room attendants kept room clean and tidy.

We booked for 3 nights in April before our Government banned travel. I contacted your hotel to ask for a refund but was refused. My card was charged then sent an invoice saying the stay was in March. Accor sent an email to advise all bookings will be refunded. I have forwarded this onto your hotel 3 times with no response. Have rung Accor who advised I am entitled to a refund. Will be doing a trip advisor review if I am not contacted soon.

I chose this hotel for its location next to Paddington Station and also because it was less expensive than others in the same area. My small double room was more than adequate. The bed was not squished against a wall, so there was room either side for storage. As I didn’t want to go out much due to the pandemic situation, I watched a fair bit of television. I was very happy with the choice of channels and quality of reception. I did manage one breakfast in the hotel’s dining room and it was pretty good. Overall a good couple of nights spent at the Mercure Paddington.

Disappointing stay

This stay was the last stop of my trip and the most disappointing one. The staffs there were unfriendly and I don't see smile on their face at all. I had booked for 3 person in an Executive Room with King size bed and sofa bed but when I check-in to the room the the sofa bed was not set at all. The toilet was so small and miserable. The booking stated that there's complementary soft drink in the mini bar but we don't see any. We booked for 3 night but on the 2nd day our 3 room cards does not work at all during our returns and we have to go down to the receptionist counter to settle this issue. The staff that serving us don't seem to feel apologies at all for causing our inconvenience instead his looks was unpleasant. We don't feel warm and welcome at this hotel at all. Only pleasant staffs we meet were during our check out on 14 Mar early morning which they offer to help on our luggage and had give us a warming smile and greeting. The overall experience was really bad and disappointing as I had chosen Mercure hotel was of knowing it should have a certain good standard which I willing to pay more but now I feel my money was not well spent for this type of service and attitude.

Was unable to cancel the reservation due to the pandemic. Reached out for a credit to use down the road and was told that wasn’t possible. I did not ask for a refund and just wanted a credit to use when we would be able to travel again.

Everything was very good - just one small area of improvement needed and that is the service level in the Bar area could be much higher. Food was really tasty, staff lovely and rooms excellent.
