Where the hell have work placed me?

Have you ever thought what it would be like to reside within a war zone? Well visit here!. Dreadful area and anywhere where you have security at 6pm says it all. The surrounding area is in the worst part of a rough borough. Drug addicts and gang members everywhere. Staff were friendly in fairness and looked out of place. Hotel has obviously had a spruce up and attempts to make it up to date fall on looking misplaced and not cool. Massive eating area surely a good menu to accommodate the guests. 3 soup starters and a 10 nugget starter. Main meals burger and chips or fish and chips. Saw one guest request use of a microwave...i should have followed his lead. Good portion of chips and burger consisting of wood minus the taste of wood. Shattered and ready to head to bed..i walked up 2 flights of stairs to find my first experience of a prison cell!! Single bed with hospital bed table. I must have been a good boy because I got a tv in my cell. I had a micro bathroom capable of removing the skin off my elbows when i brushed my teeth. Tripped over the bin twice in the bathroom as it could either be moved next to the toilet or 4cm towards the shower. Room with a view straight onto a very busy mosque but I'm open to beliefs and felt my rug sized bed was pointing towards Mecca so I got into it even more. Best thing about the stay was my wake up call at 0330hrs. I got in the car and got the hell.out of dodge before my wheels were nicked. Plus point staff and view down points everything else

The main problem is that we had booked the ibis styles hotel and they had transferred us around the corner to WB WESTERN.. In our first room was myself my partner and my children aged 2 and 5 months old had to request a room changed due to the smell of damp which was because of a 'leak' in the property which left the floor lino soaking wet and the sink was filled with dirt (room was on the bottom floor).... The second room was not much better there was a constant smell of damp which on occasion had left this smell on all our clothes. I also had requested a travel cot for my 5 month old child which they could not provide!!! (Which for one what hotel does not have travel cot for infants?) My child had to sleep in her pram the whole time we were there. I am disgusted with the whole situation.. one of the staff was very unhelpful on the night and seemed like he didnt care one bit of our situation. Baring in mind we did not check in to after 11pm at night by the time we had been sorted with a new room it was well after 12pm and we were down sized in the room and were not offered any type of compensation for the room or travel cot situation at all. I would STRONGLY advise anyone with families of young children NOT to reserve a booking with ibis styles hotel or WB WESTERN!!!

As an Accor Member I booked the hotel for a family member and gave my card details to pay for the room, As I have done for hundereds of rooms before. For said family member to be told on arrival we are full - we will move you to a nearby hotel but you have to pay for it yourself - Really, you have my card details now you want theres too?? Guest paid as was late and only night porter on duty and then moved to different hotel - IBIS styles manager was requested the next morning to ring either myself or my wife both PLATINUM members but gues what no call and no communications. We check our account today seems the booking has ben cancelled by ACCOR Why we have no idea and the guest is still in the hotel (other hotel) and we still need to pay remainder of week ! Multiple calls to hotel no return calls - manager is alwasy too buys but will call in 1/2 hour - never does. ZERO COMMS dodging the issue seems his best plan. DO NOT STAY HERE

Worst hotel in Croydon - absolutely shocking!!

This has to be the worst hotel, it was simply AWFUL. The best thing they did was not charge me and my family to stay there. Booked the room, confirmed booking - arrived at 11 at night advised we were not staying in the hotel but we had to go down a dark side street to find the other hotel which we had been booked in. Now I come from Croydon - would I walk down a dark side street with a group of youths smoking weed outside the hotel with two children. Would I heck, I booked myself into Jurys Inn, never ever would I make a mistake again and do yourself a favour don't either!!!!

I arrived at Ibis Styles in Croydon, opened the door to my room and immediately saw approximately 12 dead flies on the carpet. I went down to Reception to report this and I was immediately given another room and my original room was cleaned straight away (I saw the staff go straight in with a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies) . I was very impressed with this and the staff on Reception who I had to speak with prior to my stay, as I didn't know exact dates I would be staying etc, we're absolutely brilliant. Would definitely stay again.
