« Last week of season and was evident »

I have already e mailed Customer service but as yet have had no response. We arrived just after 10pm. We were given a cookie. I asked if food was available and was informed we could go to the bar. I did ask at reception if there was any fruit. The bar only offered sandwiches. I was travelling with my 92 year old mother. We had just been to Rome and had travelled down by car as this is easier for her. There was no one to carry our cases and it was obvious she is elderly. Is this normal practise? There was never any chicken?? Unavailable. Felt dinner was quite poor. When at the pool bar for lunch requested Nastro Azzuro, was told there were none, only Heineken. Informed the barman, there was as we had it last night and then some appeared. We visited for 3 'lazy' days. On the website there was no mention of a dredger. This was there the 1st night and intermittently throughout our stay. We should have been informed about this. Peaceful..no. When we did check out I raised my concerns to the receptionist, she just said 'sorry' ? I am expecting contact from Accor and some financial reimbursement for our stay and look forward to an early response. As stated, I have already contacted Accor customer service last Thursday and would have expected some sort of response by now. Nothing. Having stayed in some lovely hotels all over the world (and this did meet our expectation with regard to it's environment), unfortunately, I cannot recommend Accor to anyone at this time.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were lovely, all friendly and accommodating. The building interior was lovely, though a little maintenance needed in the room (chips/wear and tear). The pool and beachfront were lovely to relax in, though the lunch menu at the outdoor cafe wasn't that great. That said, the staff there were all amazing and really friendly. Breakfast and dinner were lovely.Breakfast and dinner was also great and the freshly baked bread was amazing. Overall a lovely stay. Thank you.

« Great location staff needs Trainings »

In general very happy with stay. Breakfasts choice is bit embarrassing for 4 stars hotel but maybe its Italian style. Not much veggies, eggs very dry, boxes most of times empty (had to wait for bacon and pancakes every day). Very good meat at dinner, shrimps! No choice of sport programs on tv. No trash by the pool and if you decided not to have so at lest someone pick it up at least once couple of hours.

We had a great experience at the Capovaticao Thalasso Resort & S.. As a Accor Hotels Member, our rooms were upgraded. The package we purchased afforded us a great breakfast and dinner each day. The rooms are first class and the beach is one of the best in Europe. Great place to stay when visiting Calabria.

« Nice and relaxing stay at the Capovaticano resort »

The hotel is very nice and the staff is super friendly, especially with our 1 yo kid. The food at breakfast and dinner is delicious. The pianist, Francesco, playing at dinner was giving that nice touch at the relaxing atmosphere at the resort. One point to improve is the staff service at the restaurant, as sometimes waiters were forgetting our orders and making us wait long. Then it’s really a pity that guests of the resort have to pay to access the spa and don’t even have a reduction or preferential price to access it. In addition at our arrival no one gave us a tour showing us the different facilities around the resort.

In regards to our SPA, meanwhile we do sell a package that has free access, let me remind you that there is an entry fee because by entering the SPA you can access our Thalasso therapy, using all of our covered pools that are filled with seawater and oligominerals. We apologise if you havent received a tour of the facilities of the resort upon check in. I will make sure personally that you will conduct one myself during your next stay. « Wonderful view very friendly people »

This is an wonderful place with an exceptional view and very friendly people taking care of you. Although the logistic at the breakfast for the coffee could be improve slightly (you get somebody's coffee at least ;) but, hey we were at vacations and had time. The dinner is of very good quality but it is a big hotel chain so they do have to optimize their offer for their internal processes, so there is no variety in the menu - but there are many nice little restaurants not more than 10 min drive away.

Disappointed with the restaurant for the evening meals. The buffet was very limited and not particularly good quality. The smarmy manager may appeal to Italians but not necessarily to other cultures. Wines supposedly were not available and they only brought out the most expensive ones expecting you to accept quite happily. However, breakfasts were excellent.

We are sorry we didnt meet your expectations in regards to your dining needs, even though our formula includes a big variety of freshly made dishes on the buffet with a variety of flavours, regional and not, and with a choice that changes every day. The antipasto buffet, then, accompains a weekly a la cart menù, with seven first dishes and seven second dishes. About the wines, we had a delivery issue with the stock,and the wines offer that we made wasnt intentionally for an up selling purpose. It was absolute heaven with fantastic service. Miriam and Simona at the front desk were extremely helpful, friendly, gave great recommendations and were an absolute pleasure. Jacamo (not sure how to spell) went above and beyond to make sure every single diner was having a great experience and we truly enjoyed getting to know him. My first night the internet in my room did not work and the staff scrambled to find me a new room the next day which saved my trip. My only complaint would be that the pool does not open until 9 am making it impossible to swim laps before breakfast closes even "at my own risk: I have swam in pools at hotels all over the world for 30 years and never had this be a problem. Even if this is for cleaning purposes the crew could start with cleaning the pool and then around the pool instead of vice versa. When I asked a manager about this, he was extraordinarily condescending and dismissive. I did not expect this to change overnight but wanted to be heard and he spoke to me as if I was a toddler. It was a very disappointing interaction as every other staff member was a pleasure. I also think it would be a huge improvement to have a shuttle in the evening to Capovaticano.

Great property; beach, pool and spa are fantastic. Food is average to good. Location is awesome to explore towns in the vicinity, but do your homework before hand since the advertised concierge support doesn’t exist.

The change of management from Cinzia Montelli to Antonio Barbieri is not good for the Capo Vaticano Resort. The General Manager is never present at the hotel (Villa Paola?) And nowhere else than planning corporate events. Only his assistant Fredericca Di Bella was there! Bad service in the restaurant and poor quality of the food. The food has deteriorated in quality over the last year. During our stay every weekend company events were carried out with loud disco music until late at night. Sleeping was impossible! The drink prices at the Stromboli bar are too high. Beer 0.5 liter 11, - Euro, cappuccino 7, - Euro, Pizza Margaritha of poor quality 16, - Euro! The manager manages to downgrade the hotel through mismanagement! This was our fourth stay at the Capo Vaticano Resort and with the worst off! The management is also advice-resistant! The answers of the reviews are answered with bad translation programs. The hotel could be the best hotel in Calabria in this very nice location with a different management!

The hotel concept, architecture, garden, swimming pool and location are really great. We had an excellent time, enjoyed the quality of the breakfast, the size of the room with sea view. The general atmosphere was also nice, mainly due to the staff being always very attentive.

Loved the facilities but the sit down dinner experience was frustrating. The food was great, but the service was disorderly, delayed, and without any apologies. The location, the view, the spa facilities were all great.

Hotel's focused on adults which is a great plus when you want to relax. The food (breakfast and dinners) is OK but it could be more local dishes, fruits and veggies. The beach is cleaned and maintenanced well.
