« Lovely room for my one night. »

Easy to find hotel. Good check-in procedure ,nice room for my one night. Did not use eating facilities as was dining out with ancient colleagues so no comment available. Easy check-out and friendly staff. Just thought that the paid parking could be better placed on website as it came as a shock and I thought it was expensive to say parking is limited in Zeebrugge in that area as it is a heavily populated area and I think that "Ibis" is profitering from that .Otherwise a pleasant stay on a Saturday night. Be warned as I visited on a week end it was quiet but they are extending the hotel so I think there would be building noise during the week day hours.

« Moldy and cold room »

The room was moldy and very cold, it was not possible to increase the temperature. Outdoor parking on empty, poorly maintained grounds. The worst accor hotel i have ever stayed in.

« Noisy building site!!! »

After check - in, our first disappointment was the suite . The photographs on your website are misleading, as they portray bright, colourful rooms, when, in fact, it was drab. We were given another suite, which was an improvement, although the harbour view was spoilt by the building on site. Ibis’s failure to notify potential guests regarding the extensive on - site building works is completely unacceptable to us. Throughout our five night stay, site noise commenced shortly after 7.00am each morning - except Sunday! This was particularly disappointing to us, as we had expected (and needed), a quiet, relaxing break. On a positive note, the staff were first class - particularly Nienka the receptionist.

« Not good »

Check in, short and very unprofessional. We had to go down and up to change rooms 3 times! Some weren't ready altough we got the keys, not what we have booked and one very smelly from sewage. It was a bit annoying to get this feedback email 6 times, even at 1:30AM, after we stayed for 2 nights only. In general, disappointment, especially when all the staff members were nice and smily.

« Good hotel for stop over before ferry »

Pleasant stay, clean room and great secure parking. Limited choice of nearby restaurants but a short drive along the coast we found plenty.

The location is a little disappointing at first as the hotel is most definitely on a building site. However the hotel facilities and our room were excellent and the breakfast very good. Staff were very helpful at all times. A great stop over for the ferries or for those like us spending a few days exploring the coastal towns and resorts. Our suite was great and well worth the extra money. It included a small kitchen / lounge area and had a balcony that was great for watching ships entering & leaving the port. All the local restaurants were rather expensive...however there are a couple of really great local bars with superb and cheap Belgian beers!

It was really a quite and silence 2-room bedroom. Only two things didn´t satisfy our expectation: The first day, at our evening return, we find the door room complete open. The last day and night there was a water pressure problem ( simply no water) in our bathroom.

« Wonderful staff, nice rooms, fabulous breakfast, marred by ventilation/smoking issues. »

The surroundings of the hotel are not great due to building work, etc, but once you step inside the experience is very pleasant. We had a problem in our room both evenings with cigarette smoke coming through the vents into our room - it would seem someone was smoking where they shouldn't have been but equally the hotel ventilation should be designed in a way that doesn't spread smoke from one room to the next. The first night I blocked the vent up with pillows and a suitcase as it was late, and reported it next morning. Reception staff were horrified, and said let us know if it happens again. It did about 9 on the second evening and on being notified they immediately moved us to a new room which was fine. Staff were great in how they dealt with this, but I'm concerned that someone could smoke without setting off alarms, and also that it could spread through the ventilation system - as the reception staff said "that shouldn't be able to happen!" Apart from this one issue, we loved the hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful, suggesting places to eat and even phoning to reserve tables for us. Breakfast was superb, a wide selection of food including lots of fresh fruit, a choice of several kinds of bread, decent coffee, and some hot food too. Rooms had good showers, comfortable beds and nice lighting. And in the 2 rooms we stayed in, the soundproofing appeared to be excellent as we didn't hear a thing from the corridor or rooms to either side, above or below - if only all hotels were this well sound proofed!

First room no light in bathroom; second room no airco. Despite several requests (4), problem only resolved for the last night. So, 2 bad nights out of 3. Window was defective and open window too noisy for the night. Access is difficult; no signposting and one has to drive through construction site to find reception. Hotel poorly managed; staff friendly but not very competent. Hotel not worthy of IBIS branding.

« There were elements of the stay that were very good but others that did not make our experience very enjoyable. »

Overall the experience was ok. However, our room was not cleaned on all the says that we were there. We were with two young children and the hotel was made aware of this when we booked, so the balcony was completely unusable and really quite dangerous for us. There were not enough hooks in the bathroom or toilet to hang towels and cleaning products (toilet paper/tissue) were not replenished adequately. The heated outdoor pool was out of use for a few of the days we were there. Very unfortunately, we ended up getting a flat tyre because of the building work that was going on on site. The stay was adequate but we have stayed at Ibis hotels a number of times across Europe and the other hotels have been very accommodating when its come to rooms with children.
