« Good location, confusing reward program »

I don't understand why you don't want to allocate reward points when stays are booked via travel agent when most other hotels groups (Hilton, SPG) always do it. I am afraid you will lose me as a customer at some stage.

« Excellent room and bar service but lift / floor access is clumsy. »

Overall my first stay in Sofitel Frankfurt Opera was certainly enough to ensure I would happily book this hotel again. The young Iranian lady (sorry I did not get her name) working in the bar is an absolute asset to the hotel. Very efficient and hard working under pressure and still greeted each customer with a friendly smile. I was unable to access the mini bar in my room and when I asked housekeeping they said I need to get reception to access for me. Too complicated to bother with. A great set of wardrobes but also a great lack of coat hangers.

The stay was really good. The majority of the staff were very polite and helpful. The restaurant dishes were really fresh and tasty, and the room was overall very pleasant. We were really happy about the whole stay. Minor errors do not count in the big picture.

« An excellent room, bad service »

A beautiful hotel and a perfect room. Service in another hand, especially at reception, was bad and joyless. Not a single smile or kind word. Breakfast was disappointing also because of the bad service. Nobody came to ask if we want to order anything, but I had to get up and chase a waitress to put my order in. And I felt like a second class citizen because it seemed I was bothering them. No smile, no apologies that the customer had to run around to find somebody who would take the order. I felt horrible and paid ~400 euro for this "experience".

« Amazing first stay at a Sofitel hotel! »

Everyone was incredibly kind at the hotel. Food was great in room dining and at restaurant. Room was perfect. Spa was over the top incredible. We went 3 nights in a row! Such talented staff there. My facial and massages were fantastic. Will definitely stay at this Sofitel and try others in the future.

I was shocked as during my stay & at the end i noticed that reception team have no indifference in giving the proper service to their permanent clients . The cases which i faced at the hotel totally were unacceptable . The room was decent and the lobby and decor were nice. The New Year’s Eve party was not good at all. The food was the worst meal I had in my entire stay in Germany. But the worst part was the lighting for a New Year’s Eve party. The room was very bright and the same as brunch the next day. No one bad the sense to dim the lights a bit for a party at night? The whole thing had no ambience or fun to it and it was totally not worth the money. The other thing was we booked through Amex platinum and we stopped by on 12/26 to speak to the front desk about coming there and were told we had a room reserved with the free upgrade to a junior suite On The 7th floor with a city view that Amex provides but when we arrived in 12/31 the same person said we didn’t have the upgrade anymore and had a room facing another bldg with virtually no view at all. I would not stay here again it seems no one has the training or sense how to make a good experience for the money you are charging. And if you are having a party dim the lights !!!!
