Far below expectations for 250€/night: Completely inappropriately long wait during check-in for a want-to-be best address in town, bed far too soft and higher in the middle than on the sides(!), bath layout not at all thought thru and completely impractical for two, hand shower sharp metal + injury(!), not even a shoehorn... and the receptionist did not show any reaction upon that feedback and charged 40€ parking on top. I am glad we did not have breakfast. It was not the highest category room, indeed. Still it was 250€ for a night. Normally Sofitel is top notch around the globe. This was a bad joke. I will for sure spend them somewhere else next time.

The facilities are good, service is however inattentive and sloppy. This is the third time in a row I’ve experienced this kind of behavior from staff and I will not return because of it. People are always on the phone, no help when arriving by car - staff really only there physically.

I tried to book a spa appointment the employee in the Spa was not present the whole day. It was impossible to reach the Spa by phone and when I went to the Spa there was no one there. The deputy of the on duty manager (as the on duty manager was not on duty ... ) Mr Simbel told me that she (the Spa employee) was probably fully booked and that clients booked online. When I asked him to show me how to book online he said he doesn’t know so I asked how can clients book online if you don’t know yourself how to book online? The paper booking register that was at the spa was totally empty, so clearly the whole online story thing was a lie and a cover up to hide that the employee of the Spa was not there the whole day. Then I asked to have drinks in the minibar as the minibar was empty (in line with coronavirus protocol) to the house keeping, the house keeping told me that they will bring drinks in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later I asked the reception why the minibar was still empty. He said he will inform the house keeping and make sure the minibar is filled. When I came back to my room 6 hours later the minibar was still empty. I called the reception and complained, despite me asking 4 times and complaining they never brought any drinks! This is in a Junior Suite and I am an Accor Platinum member.

We stayed at the hotel after purchasing the package "Frankfurt City Trip". When we arrived no explanation was given to us about how we should make use of the elements included in the package. At some point we had to ask the people at the reception about the welcome drinks that should be included. They did not know about this and discussed between them if the they should be giving us the welcome drinks. When you stay at a 5 star hotel you expect the staff to be on top of everything. Furthermore, no toiletries were found in the room. We also had to ask for them. Finally, the breakfast (37 euros p.p.) was a "buffet a la cart" due to Corona measures. That just doesn't work. Asking the waiter every time you want something from the buffet is not ideal. You could notice this from the lack of quality in the service. My partner had a very simple request, namely a croissant, and it never arrived. At the end if you are paying a fix amount of 37 euros and you cannot get a croissant and yogurt with fruit, that's a rip-off.

Always a pleasure staying there, information about COVID-19 for safety was good, but information about which part of the Hotel was open for business like Bar, Spa etc. was lacking. That said it’s probably the best hotel in Frankfurt.

Smelly, not clean

We arrived in the lobby and there was a strong canteen smell in the lobby. When i went to the toilet i realized that the toilet was not cleaned as there were yellow urine spots on the toilet seat. I called and the hotel staff cleaned it but that should have not happened in the first place especially in times of Corona...
