Disappointing stay, Don't believe their pics on their website

I made a reservation to have a romantic stay with my husband. I checked the pictures and description. On website it says there is a swimming pool and open deck for you to enjoy sunset while having a drink. When we checked in, the reception was slow but I said ok, we do not need to hurry. We checked the room and decided to have a look at other amenities of the hotel. We could not find anything, so we decided to ask at the reception. The receptionist just said we do not have anything available, the swimming pool is out of order and we do not have any open deck. I showed her the pictures from their website and she spoke to manager, but he just said that they do not have anything available. So do not believe pictures you see on the website. Even if they are repairing the hotel, they should have said that on their website or at the moment of booking. And to publish pictures with amenities that do not exist... this is something very awful.. false advertising... The receptionist promised to give us a feedback and we are still waiting for it... Definitely it is not worth what we paid. Good points: nice view from window if you book ocean view room, good breakfast if you pay for it.

The hotel is in a good point at Barra da Tijuca, with a great ocean view. The crew is really polite and nice, installations are quite cozy.

Not so pleasant stay

I arrive at the hotel on my birthday yet not a single acknowledgment or gesture was made although I reminded the person who checked me in of this. Rooms were ok. Breakfast is average at best for a supposedly 4 star hotel. I called from my room To request an iron/ironing board and was made to wait for more than half an hour before I had enough and decides to go down to the reception to look for it myself as nobody was answering after I had to call back and find out why it was taking this long. No one answered still. So I went down to the reception and noticed that there were 6 member of staff and by the reception and the back office nobody seemed to be busy… so I used my mobile phone to call and see if calls where going through after I used the hotel phone from my room and nope although it was ringing no calls were going through. This is not it. Upon my check out someone had the person at the reception had the nerve to ask me if I paid for my room which I really took offence because no where in the world would I have been able to check in without either given a hold on my Credit card or by paying outward for the stay to which I did. The receptionist should’ve been able to see that himself in the system without asking me. What if Someone tells them yes but the payment hasn’t been made? This was so unprofessional. Check out shouldn’t have taken more than 2 minutes as everything was already settled upon me checking in but it took so much more time all because they couldn’t see the payment that I had made until they thoroughly looked it up themselves. It was really embarrassing to say the least and quite humiliating. Whilst 4 member of staff gather all around a computer to see what was going on.
