The location and overall installations are very good. The negative aspect is related to the pool and the area around it. Being a hotel in front of the beach, it is expected we also have a good area to rest and get a sun, but the pool is very small and basically there is no place to stay in the sun around it. Taking this item aside, considering the very gentle staff, we have a nice stay.

I ordered a simple empty glass and a glass with ice, I ordered room service and I am waiting until today. The next day, I made a purchase at ifood to avoid going out to eat and crowds, so I ordered 2 dishes from room service and I'm waiting with the glasses until today. When I ordered a coffee for room service, it arrived in 5 minutes. The conclusion that we draw is that: room service only serves you when it is something that will bring profit, customer satisfaction does not exist. The third problem that I noticed and that made me very scared, in none, NONE of the elevators did the security system (pass the card to ascend) work. I realized that it didn't work because dozens of people went up to the pool to take pictures and I was not a hotel guest. The fourth problem is the quality of the rooms, everything worked, but the ceiling was falling off peeled pieces, including the air conditioning grid looked like it was going to fall off anytime in our head. Indeed, I have used the Accor network in practically all of South America and in some European countries and this hotel is far from the standards I know, and the restaurant (which I imagine, is outsourced) that serves room service should be changed immediately.

I Know the Novotel standard, that is very well, but I and my wife feel at home here. The staff are perfects in specially Mr. Zé Carlos that give us a excellent breakfast when we arrived like courtesy for exemple. The location is wonderfull with security. So, they provide everythin that we need. Congratulation!

My wife and I went to Rio de Janeiro, to meet some old friends. In last January we were in Mercure Hotel Praia do Pepe, and was very good. At this time we choose Novotel Barra da Tijuca that is in front of our preferred Beach Bar.Location was perfect, but the service and cleanness were terrible. Even with my Gold card, check-in took about 20 minutes, and also the hotel was paid in advanced the receptionist said that they were waiting for baking confirmation.We had no room upgrade; we didn't receive any candy in the room, the room was dirty, the safety box was damaged, there were no face towels in the bathroom.It's not a Real Novotel.PS: If you need I have some room pictures.

Good standard but need improvements

Although the Hotel follows the Novotel standard we have face some issues with the noise of the AC, room with some improvement needed and breakfast with plastic glasses. The food was also cold and far from the novotel quality.

Great facilities, poor service

We asked for reservation for the New Year's Eve dinner in October 2017, they said they would return when they had the reservations available. I arrived at the hotel on Dec 28, I requested the reservation for the supper, they told me that there was no availability. Complained with management, they said they would give me a solution. On 31 they called me offering a table after a reorganization of the space. I had already hired another place and I was very upset. In addition the service at the pool and at breakfast was poorly prepared to cater for guests and mostly children. Unsatisfactory experience.

464/5000 Novotel is a great option in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is excelent, facing the beach, with shopping malls, supermarket, restaurants and bars very close by.The hotel has a very good structure, with restaurant, bar, gym, sauna and a wonderful swimming pool with sea view. It was once again comfortable and very satisfying.

The service of this hotel is great; the breakfast and rooms too. Every place is clean and Novotel offers towels, chairs and beach umbrellas to their guests, to go to the beach that stays in front of the hotel. There are many taxis in front of the hotel. So, me and my family recommend Novotel Barra da Tijuca.
