Another weekend away on the all inclusive package. Great service with friendly faces and a relaxing time was had with good food and drink. The staff really displayed great team work with every staff member not only doing their own jobs but covering for others when required. Small number of staff working over the weekend but service was not affected because of the willingness of the staff to step up. As always staff were very friendly and ready for a chat. Well done to Craig for holding the team together.

I enjoy staying at this hotel for many reasons the main one being the staff. They are always friendly welcoming and eager to please. Even with lower staff levels at the moment nothing seems too much trouble. Added to that the location, parking facilities, comfortable well equipped rooms and quality of food make this hotel a very enjoyable place to stay. My ONLY problem is the lack of any form of air conditioning. The hotel is a warm building at the best of times, which is good in the winter, but in the summer months the rooms get extremely hot! They do provide electric fans if required but the temperature in the rooms in the summer months can be rather stifling That being said it is good to be staying at this hotel again after many months of lockdown

We booked the room for our anniversary and we where upgraded to a junior suite which was much appreciated, we had a very nice evening meal in the on-site restaurant , staff very friendly and we had a very comfortable night sleep in the large king size bed,nice hot showers in morning and very good full English breakfast, all in all a very enjoyable night away

It was a pleasant stay.

Hotel was expecting my arrival despite it being late. Could see good processes in place for handling Covid-19 protocols. Staff were extremely friendly and service was great. Room was lovely!

The reception was lovely, really helpful but small details in the room make the hotel not up to standard.

Given the current climate, Accor Hotels have instructed their properties to reduce the items within rooms to help aid with contact. However all these items were available if requested. I'm sorry that this was not explained to yourself upon check-in. Since your stay with us, we have received further instructions and many of the items have now been reinstated back into rooms. I've been staying in the hotel weekly for work and the whole team have been amazing. Really helpful and friendly. The food has been good considering it was room service and the bar has a great selection too. I would recommend anyone working or visiting the area to stay here.

The bed was comfortable and I slept well which was the main reason for staying there. I was not interested in the food or beverage on offer because of choice and price. More than 3 milk sachets would have been nicer and a biscuit and water always go down well

Old hotel, in urgent need of modernisation and investment

Welcome, good and positive. Room Service tried it once, horrendous. recieved Chilli that had been heated in a microwave, burnt and served in a polystyrene container. This suppsedly due to covid, however two other hotels I have stayed in this week both serve decent food with proper crockery and cutlery. Bedroom. No AC. Small radiator in the corner which was either hot or cold. No way to move air around. Bed lump and uncomfortable. No soundproofing between rooms or to the hallway. Decoration old and tired with chipped / ripped surfaces.

Superb room, great package deal with dinner with wine included. Evening meal was great quality and good service. Such a shame about the Tier 3 rules coming into force making breakfast a take-away. Possibly the breakfast options could be improved under these circumstances to allow for pre-ordering with room delivery. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Very pleasant staff.

Always a pleasure to stay here, great value and friendly staff. For hotel accommodation in this bracket one really can't fault what they provide. It hasn't been easy for hoteliers during this time but at the Mercure Hatfield they have found a way to offer hospitality that meets this business travellers needs.

All inclusive stay - Bar/ Restaurant/ reception staff were brilliant. They couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. Due to the Covid situation the buffet dinner is replaced by a bar menu - The food choices were limited and had high supplement charges where a bit steep. But all in all a pleasant stay and a day out trip to St Albans.
