We booked 5 rooms for my mum's 80th Birthday. We booked Embers for her birthday dinner which the food and service was great. Upon checking we were told the snooker room was closed due to COVID. There were only 10 of us wanting to play snooker however we weren't allowed as there was no-one to supervise from staff. However, on the Friday night at the bar there were over 50 people drinking and sitting close to each other with no issues at all! The next morning we went out and upon returning to our rooms, the rooms were not made up. I telephoned reception and they said we had to request the make up of the rooms and that it was in our "welcome letter". I was not told at checkin that we had to request the make up of our rooms and was NOT given a "welcome letter" setting this out. Housekeeping then came to make up my room however I was told it was to be a "quick" makeup. The bed was quickly made, she took out the old towels and put new ones on the sink. No cleaning of the sink and no replacement of toilet paper! This is NOT what I paid for.- 5 rooms and no room service. On the Friday night we went out for dinner. I spoke to "Abbey" in reception and relayed to her my issues. She advised that she will be on duty until 11.00pm that night and the bar will be open until late. Upon our return from dinner at 10.00pm, we went to the bar for a drink and was told the bar was closing in 5 minutes. Abbey saw us standing there and came over to see what was the problem. I told her the bar was closing and she asked the bar to remain open for us to have a drink which was much appreciated. As you could understand, this was my mother's 80th birthday celebration over 2 nights at your hotel and we want to make it special. What hotel bar closes at 10.00pm on a Friday night. Now to breakfast. This was disgusting. The bacon was not cooked, the chicken sausages were cold, my eggs Benedict was cold. When the coffees were brought over to us, half the coffee was spilt on the saucer. When they didn't give us enough toast for the 10 of us, I requested more and the response I got was rude. The staff at the breakfast were not very nice, made you feel uncomfortable and was the worst experience I have had at any hotel. It was like they just didn't want to be there. This was meant to be a celebration of my mum's 80th with her family. Whilst the rooms were nice (apart from the making up of the rooms) and the dinner in Embers was nice, everything else took away from what should have been a great 2 nights away. Thank goodness for Abbey in reception who tried her best to make things more pleasant. My husband and myself. have stayed at the Fairmont Leura many times. After this stay, I am not sure if I will be returning.

My experience with the helpful, warm, professional and friendly staff was an important part of my 3 night stay. The food was glorious as I worked my way through the lunch and dinner menu. My bathroom would have been better for me a walk in shower but the room was great with a beautiful view of the gardens. I was there for a training course and the rooms and amenities provided were perfect for our requirements with another great view. Lunches at the restaurant in front of the stunning views of the iconic mountains were the star of my stay with the best staff I have encountered in a very long time. Thank you so much for making my accommodation choice the right one.

Enjoyed staying at the Fairmont. Comfy and quiet rooms. Enjoyed dinner at Embers restaurant although the service was inconsistent from night to night. Breakfast was a bit disappointing under covid conditions.

Carpet along corridor was a bit dirty...not a good impression. In room, the carpet and sofa were a bit dirty (crumbs and fluff). Lucky we had a plastic sheet so we covered sofa. Pillows were thick and lumpy...hard to sleep on.

It was only fair which was not expected. The room including bathroom was comfortable but dated and we looked out at a pool, not the scenic view we had expected staying at the Fairmont. The grounds are lovely, the Embers restaurant was nice however not fine dining and no tablecloths, and a carrot and celeraic roulade turned out to be coleslaw with the steak, not inspiring.

We understand COVID has required some changes to your operation, but compared to previous stays, the general appearance of the hotel looked quite lack lustre. Chipped dining room tables without table clothes looked second rate. A room service order for 3 meals costing over $90 but Uber eats would have delivered a better product. We complained about this at checkout and got a 50% discount, but it was dissapointing to have to complain in the first place. And we had a kingsize bed room, but only one chair for a desk. I stay in hotels quite a lot for work, and have never had to ask for an easy chair for a room before. Even motel rooms I stay in have a comfortable chair to sit in as an option to having to lie on a bed to watch tv, which is not always a satisfactory option.
