OK but a bit dated now

Carolynt23 Couples - TripAdvisor review

We stayed here for 3 nights recently in a King Bay facing room and though it was fine it was really only 3 star accommodation and dining. The room and amenities were adequate but everything looked like it hadn't been updated for decades. A nice touch was a $10 room credit if you didn't want your room serviced each day. The Sand and Wood restaurant was disappointing and as their 'better' restaurant the food we ate was more like what you'd find at decent pub. Their premier Seabelle Restaurant is currently closed. The Sand Bar & Bistro is a 5 minute walk down towards the pier but this was noisy and with average pub food that you had to line up for to order. We did the full day Beauty Spots tour which was very good but incredibly bumpy in the 4WD large bus - if you have a bad back I'd give it a miss. We did the optional 15 min small plane flight - $100 each and not forewarned it was on offer - where we took off and landed on 75mile beach - surprisingly it was worth the money. We are glad we experienced Fraser Island but accommodation choices are limited as one would expect as the island is a National Park - 2 hotels, self contained units at Eurong or camping. There is no way you can take your caravan onto Fraser Island!

over rated. overpriced. accomodation in villas poor

2bedroom villa family holiday. 550 was the furtherest away and up a hill. during school holidays the bus needs to run more often especially if ur up a hill!!!basic accomodation looks great on the outside like a tree house however extremely dated and definitely not 5 star. very mouldy smell we kept all doors and windows open all the time. the spa on balcony was ok however not strong and only a few jets worked. very basic cleaning no surfaces wiped etc. beds and linen nice. the bathroom was very poor with mouldy shower tiles and needed a big clean!! 4 pools 1spa. food nice but of course overpriced which is expected on an island. staff ave eg- l ordered salads and didn’t bring cutlery to eat with. don’t ever go during school holidays. l tried to book things before we arrived and it was all booked out. went on the beauty spots tour which was good. at the resort there was not much to really do and overall was extremely disappointed. will go back to wilsons prom for a nature park experience this didn’t cut it. won’t return and won’t recommend to others unfortunately it was very over rated.

We loved our stay at Kingfisher Bay Resort. After full days of adventuring across K'gari, it was a wonderful space to come back to each afternoon and unwind. All the staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful. Kicking back on the restaurant deck or around the pool with some food and drinks was how we best liked to spend our afternoons. It's also very family friendly with a playground and mini arcade in the resort complex. Our whole family made some wonderful memories and can't wait to visit again.

We recently stayed at Kingfisher Bay and we will definitely be returning. Staff were very helpful, the location is beautiful. There is so much to do for all ages, we will do different activities and tours next time so that we can experience different things. Our son wants to "stay for 6 months next time". K'gari means paradise and we thought Paradise is a perfect name for the island.

Wasn’t bad but wasn’t great

Bit overpriced for the villa room considering how run down and dusty place was. Sand bar restaurant way better then Sand & wood. Staff were always helpful. Location was good close to a lot of main areas
