For a Mercure hotel this property is dated. But still up to chain standards. Walking distance to lots of shopping. FlixBus stop nearby. Tram right outside. The breakfast is up to chain standards. All around, a good value for the price. I’ve stayed in more expensive hotels in Berlin that were not as good.

Bad choice for summer time. There is no air conditioning. Inside the room there is no indication what is the phone number of reception. Fail to fill two bath towels as we were a couple. Carpet in the room was not so clean. Good breakfast.

Stay was OK. Check-in took forever - the lady didn't seem to know what she was doing. Hotel was in close vicinity to shopping mall and places to eat which was good. Room smelled of smoke when I arrived though. Shower seemed to have problems draining, so think the drain needs to be cleaned out.

Location very close to all attractions, well connected, 5 minutes walk to Alexanderplatz. Spacious room, East German building, well equipped. However no air conditioning in room, fan is ineffective in summer, difficult to sleep. Otherwise excellent value for money.

« The worst experience I've ever had in the Accor brand »

I've arrived to this Mercure hotel and got disappointed at the very first minute. The hotel is really old, looks dirty at first glance and the room is terrible. There's no air conditioning system! Instead there is a fan to be used in the 30 degrees Berlin summer. I turned that fan on and it spread dust all over the room. The bathroom was depressive. I've been a loyal guest for Accor for almost 10 years. And this is the first time I'm disappointed with an Accor hotel. This hotel for sure can't be classified as a 3 star Mercure. I've stayed in an Ibis in Munich and it was way better! My booking wasn't refundable but I checked out just one hour after check-in. I moved to the Mercure Berlin City because my wife couldn't stay there.

« Wide rooms in a refurbished building. Need more improvements. »

This hotel should have been recently incorporated to the Mercure brand. Some improvementes were made, but I hope more will be made. The room is very wide, there is even a small kitchen. The bathroom, despite its big size, has a very narrow shower box. I was a challenge to bath inside it, without hit my elbow on the faucet! The street is very noisy, due the circulation of trams and emergency vehicles. No conditioned air is available.

« Reception service need to be urgently improved »

During check out, the receptionist gave me a impressing , that she is not trained to talk with the guests. No greeting at all from beginning to the end. Even I said thank you and have a nice day before I left, she just ignore and said nothing. The equipments and building are aged, these points I knew before I booked this hotel, there is nothing to complain und I know it is not easy to make a quick improvement. But the soft service could be improved if the management is starting to take care of it. For me it was a sad story of Mercure hotel, and this hotel is definitely not reaching a Mercure standard, even not ibis.

The hotel was old The standard if the rooms compared to Price were quite low Curtains dirty and Jack of communication between staff as we agreed late check out but still the cleaning staff started cleaning 3 hours before agreed check out at 14,00 Positive is a fantastic breakfast - as good as a 5 Star hotel.

Everything was great. We had a clean, quiet and comfort room, nothing disturbed us at all, with an amazing view. The only thing we didn't like was the morning sun coming from the window from the edge of the curtains and made us wake up really early. We would definitely stay again (especially in winter when the night is bigger!!

The room was great, comfort, clean, quiet, with an amazing view. The wifi was OK. The only thing we didn't like was the morning sun coming from the edge of the curtain and woke us up very early. We would definitely stay again there.

« Good hotel but missing air conditioning »

The hotel room was big and the bed very comfortable. However, there was no air conditioning, not even a fan and Berlin had a 42C° temperature while I was there. It was very hard to sleep in with all that heat. Another good point is the breakfast, lots of options and good food. Also, while we were there, the internet was down for an entire day.
