Booked this as a short break and happened to coincide with the first week after "Freedom Day". Was very concerned that the majority of staff were not wearing masks, the breakfast buffet was back and there was a general approach of "laissez faire" even though it was necessary to book times for dinner and breakfast. Appreciate mask wearing is now optional but other restaurants etc in the area were all still being suitably cautious. Also worth noting 1) the age of the building as a result of which there is no air conditioning - was unfortunate that we were there on a particularly hot week; 2) the privelege package benefit is questionable - no mini-bar so free soft drinks limited to a Nespresso machine and a couple of bottles of water!; 3) general state of disrepair - spiders' webs on windows and a layer of grime - all very dusty so not appealing when you need to open windows for ventilation. Restaurant very average for a hotel purporting to be a 4 star! In retrospect should have gone to the alternative of the MGallery in Cheltenham Staff doing their best to cope and very friendly - especially the receptionist - but not enough!

Hotel busy as was Saturday night and had several events happening. Didn't feel totally Covid safe. Wasn't explained the 'one-way' system on the stairs. Was surprised to find breakfast self service as was before restrictions were lifted.

Stayed to break up journey to Newquay. Would definitely stay again. Really good value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. Grounds beautiful. Good food although disappointed with small portion of Cabanara for the cost.

Fab hotel apart from rooms need air conditioning as extremely hot and uncomfortable apart from that very good. Rachael I presume shift manager was outstanding nothing to much trouble.

We stayed for 2 nights at Bowden Hall. It’s a lovely location and building. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable, but lots of stairs to climb and overly warm as it was at the top of the building. The staff were fantastic and food (breakfast and dinner) was well executed. Rooms were not being serviced unless requested, but extra loo roll etc was delivered promptly on request. Public areas were pleasant and comfortable.

Excellent night at your hotel. The staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. My room was excellent, plenty of room, fabulous bed. And air con which was a bonus. The grounds were beautiful, very relaxing. I will definitely be back, definitely good value for money.

Overall we had a good stay. The only downside when we booked in was you either had to have breakfast before 7.30pm or after 10am as the slots were all booked up in between. We usually eat at 9am when away so a long wait. However we assumed this would was due to social distancing rules.

This was my second visit to the Bowden Hall, during this current lockdown period, the service was again excellent. The Reception Team are always welcoming and enthusiastic, after a long day and late in the evening, it is appreciated! They take a real pride in recognising the arriving guests, particulary regular Accor Group guests. I will be back!

Enjoyed a really relaxing stay at Mecure Gloucester Bowden Hall . Staff were very helpful and hotel was well laid out to deal with the current situation. The room was well equipped for the use of electronic equipment such as laptops ,tablets etc. With generous socket provision. Very comfortable and well lit room.
