Front of house staff and Housekeeping staff also very polite. very polite and helpful. I lived in Leicester in the 50s/60s and remember the grandeur of the GRAND HOTEL when it was the flagship of the Ind Coope hotel chain so I as disappointed that it was so shabby and the restaurant had become a fast food joint. I understand that maintenance of an old building is expensive but the inability to see out of the bedroom window because of decades of guano is , nevertheless very sad.

The reception was good and welcoming, staff very friendly, Spacious rooms. The on site Marco Pierre restaurant was excellent. The only issue we had was that there was nomad conditioning and the room did get rather warm

Staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was really good and in my opinion fairly priced for what get. The room was nice however it seemed very dated and didnt fit the lobby of the hotel, My biggest commplaint was that there was dried chewing gum on the pillow case which suggested to me that they hadent washed the sheets from the last person(s) that stayed in the room which is disgusting. Other than that the stay was good and i enjoyed it for the most part...

lovely welcome at reception , nice meal and pleasant service in restaurant . Bedroom needs a major deep clean and refurbishment . Do not expect to have earplugs buy my bed due to the awful noise through the night .

The rooms are very old!

The heating was not working at all and so I complained for about three hours before an electric heater was brought to my room. The floor and walls looked very dirty which made me feel a little uncomfortable. This is nothing some new paint could remedy. The room had no adjustable thermostat and breakfast was mediocre, I am sorry but I am very disappointed!

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, if you’re staying with shopping in mind it’s ideal as it’s only a 5 minute walk if that into town. Hotel is lovely, restaurant in hotel is fab and staff are all lovely. Breakfast has a great selection. Rooms are nice and has everything you need but being so central it is very noisy at night (earplugs are given though). Bathroom could be cleaner. Overall great stay and would recommend

Stayed for a works conference. Check in was slow and I noticed quite a few guests having gone to their rooms returning to reception as the key card did not work. I asked when given my card this does work and told yes. Got to 3rd floor to find it didn't. To tired to lug all my luggage back down stairs I just had to leave outside door whilst I returned to reception to get fixed. No apoligy nothing .... room basic not enough plug sockets . But clean and bed was huge and very comfortable.

We were only there for 1 night for a company function - it was a bit annoying that you get all the way to your room and the key wasnt working so all of us had to go down again with all the suitcases so the Receptionist can unlock it..

Checkin was fine. That was the only high point. The room looked dated and drab. The cleaners left our door propped open (fortunately nothing was stolen) one day, and the concierge suggested we should leave a do-not-disturb sign up instead of taking onboard that our room was literally left in a state where anyone walking by good just push it open. The sound proofing on the room was utterly inadequate and even normal conversations in the corridor were clearly audible The location is convenient for the railway station and city center.

From arrival to leaving the staff are particularly pleasant and welcoming. Of note especially are Miriam on reception and at breakfast, Kay and Jose. They all remember us and particular likes we have. A really personal service.

Not sire if it is on purpose but signage outside is not great. I noticed the picture of Marco Pierre White and guessed might be the hotel. The lobby area and reception is lovely. A nice first impression. I booked a privilege room which was rather dated in decor. Everything looks slightly jaded. The lift only went to the 4th floor and then a walk up some stairs. The carpets on those stairs were dirty. There was a nail and dust and it looked unhoovered. The room was large but bathroom really small. The cushions were stained. Nice and quiet in room. The facilities were ok and what ineould expect of a 4 star hotel. The body cream smelt a little old... Breakfast was good. I really liked the lady who managed the breakfast. She was so bright and smiley and helpful. Checkout easy. Just a bit if sprucing up and this would be worthy of 4 stars.

Excellent location if you wanna party all nite. Security is tight at night so make sure your not to drunk or they wont let you in lol. Good size rooms and great internet connections for the ps4

I stayed at the Hotel for 1 night and had a meeting there as well the next day. The staff was very friendly and my bedroom was clen, cozy and had everything i needed. The breakfast was included, and had an array of cereals to the full engilsh breakfast. You can tell that the hotel must had been of great importance, just lookimg at the stairs, hallways and meeting rooms.
