Disappointing The hotel is certainly very tired. There are several cracked window panes, visible from both entrance of car park and the main corridor down to the bedrooms. Every time we went to reception we had to wait for some-one to appear at the desk, on a couple of occasions this was several minutes. Whilst we appreciate some changes had possibly taken place due to COVID-19 this should still not have any effect on professionalism of the staff. Having previously visited the hotel many times over years we only see a big deteriation in the quality overall

Stayed for 2 nights Rooms are very dated and in need off a major update this also goes for the pool area... the roof is all rusting and piece falling off that they have had to put a net to try and stop it falling in the pool all the rubber seals are hanging off the windows and the windows have all blown .... The changing are in need off major revamp the doors are all rotten that it just showing chip board it just very dated When we got up the first morning for breakfast at 8:30 there was 2 food trays outside the lift they was still there when we returned at 4pm reported this at this time on our return after being out for the evening at 11pm they was still there The food We ate in the bar on both nights there is very limited gluten free food options no starters, only pasta or fish main and only poached pear in gin for pudding... First night we had steak with Chucky chips was lovely and the chef confirmed this was all ok for gluten free on the second night my partner ordered the same as he knew he was safe with this being gluten free but when it arrived it was different chips which look horrible And no one could confirm if they was gluten free so he was unable eat them so had just a piece off stake for his tea... I had fish and chips with the same horrible chips that was soggy and horrible which I left... Breakfast was nice and they had gluten free bread which was good.. Julie was lovely and very helpful

Thank you for your email. My wife and myself enjoyed a most enjoyable few days at your hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to other people. First impressions are always important and ours was experienced upon arrival at the reception desk, were we found the receptionist (Dave) most helpful and courtesy as was Julie in the dining room. The hotel provided ample activity through its spa and lounge to keep us contented and whilst the fabric of the hotel was clean and tidy, there was a few areas which were looking a little tired, no doubt these are in your maintenance programme for the future. Kindest regards and thanks for a most enjoyable stay.

Shame about the shower

Room was a little tired - could do with a bit of a revamp but the main issue was that the shower just didn’t work - dribbled out then stopped. On the plus side the swimming pool was quite nice

old and dated

Stayed for work and website looked good but everything has a large sign of wear and tear. Rooms are out dated and need a deep clean. In my bathroom alone there was a large amount of long dark hairs on the floor and on the vanity side. When I lifted the toilet seat there was a big clump of light hairs in the bowl. There was even more hairs on the carpet and I looks like who ever hovered missed the edges and corners completely. The cups had to be washed before I could use them as they looked like they had not been used in a while. Walls are damaged through out the hotel and door frames were quite badly damaged. There is even a broken window in the corridor outside one of the function rooms.

I was looking forward to breakfast, disappointed it was plated rather than buffet. I specifically asked for a cot but they was none in the room, there were 2 single beds which I used, hence why I didn't complain but it will have been nice to have what I wanted. The pressure of the shower wasn't as high as I would have wanted it. I enjoyed the leisure facilities provided.

A brief stay for a charity concert at nearby Village on the green Aspull. Apart from an awkward toilet flush the stay was comfortable and pleasant.

Comfortable rooms, lovely and warm. Only downside was the beds, too small for adults and poor quality mattress.
