I have sent 2 emails to yourselves - with no reply!! I booked through Groupon for Friday 20th March - Sunday 22nd March. Unfortunately through no ones fault we cut our weekend away short - due to COVID 19. We were unable to use the facilities at the hotel. I have e-mailed twice asking if we could maybe take the 1 night at another time - with no reply. I am a front line worker - working for NHS. I hope I get a reply to this. On our departure I was advised by the receptionist that she would get her manager to e-mail me - this never happened. I left my contact number and email address with her. My contact number is 07….

First impression not to bad. But upon closer inspection very dirty hotel. In the mists of Covid-19 we only lasted 5 hours at this hotel. We checked in around 7 Pm and checked out at 12 midnight and drove home As I didn't feel comfortable. There was a lot of dust on surfaces going towards our room and the room it's self was old and tired. I had to deep clean the remote control as it was gruesome. I was extremely willing to loose my 130 pounds.

It was a difficult weekend for your staff as the leisure centre and social distancing in respect of the coronavirius had to be enforced. Initially the room we were allocated had a leaking toilet, and we were moved without any issues or problems by your reception staff. In view of circumstances we had a good stay.

Menu changed with no warning, limited items available. Made up prices for drinks, different prices each time. Spa facilities closed, no compensation offered!!! Staff didn’t have a clue of the offered sent to us via email. Room was dated but comfortable.

Shower still had hairs all over it from previous people staying there!! Flush in our room did not work!! Were given the wrong times for spa and had to waste 2 hours waiting for the time we were told it opened.

Food was lovely , I just wish there was more choice for breakfast. I'm not a fan of full English so I didnt have many other choices for food. Room was nice and clean. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of mini plastic bottles. If they installed soap and shower gel dispenser, there would be no need for plastic bottles. Also ladies at the reception could have better customer skills but overall nice gateway.

Can not fault any of the staff. Very polite dedicated people Hotel itself needs modernising and painting and the pool and gym areas were not very inviting Reception and bar were nice areas and parking was sufficient Thought breakfast would be table service not a buffet

Great relaxing experience

Despite the restaurant being closed for evening meals (no doubt because of the ongoing precautions against CV), the bar staff and chefs made sure that a normal menu continued to operate in the bar area, and the quality of the food couldn't be faulted. Allocated an upgraded room because the one we had asked for wasn't immediately available on our arrival, which was much appreciated, and grateful thanks to the maid service for keeping it immaculate during our stay. We have now been visiting the Abbots Well for over 20 years and, as always, enjoyed a very relaxing break. Hopefully we will be back.

WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOM SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE EITHER ONE OR NEITHER OF THE KEY CARDS WORKED. HAD TO GO BACK TO RECEPTION SEVERAL TIMES. I THINK WE TRIED 10 DIFFERENT CARDS OVER THE THREE NIGHTS. ALSO ORDERED A DAILY EXPRESS PAPER AND A DAILY MAIL PAPER FOR EACH OF THREE DAYS. NONE WERE DELIVERED. ASKED AT RECEPTION EVERY DAY BUT NOTHING HAPPENED AND NO EXPLANATION WAS GIVEN.

Disappointing. We ordered daily papers for three days but none were delivered. Not corrected by reception. Room card keys did not work properly. we had 10 different cards over three days with much inconvenience going back and forth to reception every time we were locked out.

The room was the dirtiest, dustiest room I've ever stayed in! Wallpaper hanging off the ceiling, bathroom door handle hits the shower glass and I cut my foot on a protruding screw in the shower base!!! Had to go and ask for the bottle of wine on arrival too. It was also very small. The bed was great as were the staff. A great shame as we had looked forward to a great night
