« Bit tattty »

My compact room was very very dirty with dust clogged every were. It felt like a hostel room. The reception was nice but gym changing rooms had lockers but had ran out of locks so told to leave them in open lockers. Staff where helpful a d can't fault that.

Poor nights sleep due to guests standing outside of reception smoking and talking. Constant noise from guests walking up stairs until 02:58 in the morning.

« Overall lovely staff (apart from checkout), poor quality room »

Staff on whole where friendly and polite ( except for member of staff on check out desk) room was not up to 4* standard, marks on the wall and dirty/stained chair in room, this made me question the cleanliness of rest of room. The radiator was tempremental which left the room feeling cold. Although a good choice over breakfast, the avaliabilty was poor on the cooked breakfast, bacon was extremely dry (the little that was available). Reported concerns at checkout, staff member offeted no apology and was left feeling unworthy as a client/ future business client. Not the service I expect of a 4* hotel.

Stop over for 1 night, room was very nice ,everything we needed.had meal in bar excellent . Staff very attentive . Room a little noisy as we were close to bar, but that was fine. would stay here again no problem.

« Old tired dirty but cheap »

Big sign up saying “refurbishment in this area taking place.” No signs of any work but plenty of signs of work needed. Carpet separating, tired lighting ,old paint work and poor smell. No lift. In essence just a poor old lady of an hotel that was once a sprightly looker. Sue on reception was very pleasant though.

« Lovely hotel in a good location »

We have stayed in this hotel several times before and its one of our favourites. This time we paid £3 extra for a superior suite which gave us a separate little living room and some rather nice dressing gowns to wear. The hotel is in a nice quiet location at the edge of Chester with plenty of free parking. Its only 5 minutes walk to the 'park & ride' where there are regular busses to the centre of town for £2 each for a return journey. Rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. There is a nice bar and a restaurant downstairs which overlooks the gardens at the back. You can also have room service, we had some very nice pizza's delivered along with glasses of wine. Minor grumbles are a noticeable lack of plug sockets and a shower with a mind of its own (couldn't decide what temperature it wanted to be). Overall a lovely stay and we will certainly return

« Best hotel we have ever stayed »

This was our fourth stay . Perfect Quiet location, large parking, very welcoming staff , every body smiling and caring. Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Breakfast offered such a variety of fresh food, fruit, yogurt etc. The bacon is particularly nice and lean, and the staff so helpful, particularly Karl. Thanks for everything.
