« You get what you pay for »

There was nothing here to remember. It was a version of Travel Inn with the addition of a bar. Service was indifferent (poor at the Bar) but it was reasonable value for money. Reception was helpful.

« Poor stay and wouldn't book again »

Upon arrival I was greeted by a young receptionist who told me she had recently traveled around Australia - that young lady was great and good advert for front of house. I found the dining experience for both dinner and breakfast was rushed. I did explain to the receptionist that it had been a long week and I was tired and in need of rest. However, and to my horror at 7:20am the next morning I was woken by housekeeping staff laughing and talking like it was the middle of the day. I went out to find my room was next to what looked like the housekeeping office where all housekeeping staff met first in the morning. As you can imagine I was not best pleased being woken by that kind of noise so early in the morning. The shower in the room was broken and I had to contend with holding the shower head in my hand. All of these points were brought up on check out the next morning. In my job, I travel across the South of the Country on a weekly basis but I can honestly say, I wont be staying at this hotel again.

« Pleasent. Would have preferred to have a mattress in the travel cot for the baby. »

We enjoyed the warm and pleasent atmosphere. Staff were friendly. We asked for a mattress for the travel cot for the baby but we're told there is none. I asked for an extra blanket for the travel cot so that we could make it a bit more soft and Comfortable but we're told there was none. We ended up taking the duvet off the pull out bed (only noticed this after we asked for an extra blanket) to try make the cot more comfortable for him to sleep.

« First time disappointment »

Stayed many times and never had a problem. This time however in room 150, no hot water in the bath or shower in the morning so couldn’t wash properly. Had to wash hair in sink as sink water was hotter temperature. The lady the desk knocked off £20 but I’d much rather have hot water.

Had to complain about the disgusting state of my room on the first night, was asked to provide photos for the houseeping manager and was moved to a better room. But no feedback or any further comment from the hotel after suppying the photos. The breakfast was also poor - not much choice and the fried eggs were like rubber on two of the three mornings.

« Always a warm welcome, staff always helpful, Manager is a Top Banana ! »

Booked for a short stay and from booking our room with the Manager Ian Harding-Jones to leaving the hotel our whole experience as always was as we would expect from the professional staff at the Mercure, nothing is too much to ask. And our Pointer dog had a wonderful stay too with residents and staff making a fuss of him. Highly recommended !

« Amazing staff »

As a lone traveler, safety and friendliness are key when away from home and the Mercure can’t be beaten I have stayed at a number of hotels in the area but keep returning to the Mercure because of the great staff. In truth the rooms corridors are a bit tired and could do with updating but that said it provides everything you need as a business traveler. Thanks to all who continue to make my time at the hotel a hone away from home.

The staff were all very pleasant, but I felt the hotel was tired, and the room felt like that of a dated B&B, not a modern chain hotel. I visit swansea quite regularly but thought I would try this hotel for a change.

A two night stay to afford us a ‘nostalgia trip’ to Langland bay, Mumbles and Fforestfach. The hotel is very conveniently located yet suitably secluded; it is comfortable, clean, and we enjoyed excellent food. When next visiting the area, we would stay again.

« Some aspects could be improved. »

The customer service from most of the staff was excellent. So was the quality of breakfast and food in the restaurant. The creaking floor boards when walking across the lobby and in the rooms was disappointing. The rooms also appeared to be basic and dull when the rate charged is considered.
