awful room (room 1) single room with 2 beds for 2 people (booked twin room). 1 bed broken and room had dampness. told no other rooms available. couldnt wait to leave

My sympathies are with the staff in trying to operate a property that is in such poor condition. The quality of the furnishings and maintenance presents an air of neglect and lack of investment that is way below the Mercury brand standards. The quality /price perception is very poor. Having booked a Privilege room the extra facilities of robes, newspapers and water were not provided are only one example of how the guest experience is way below expectations. The staff were helpful and friendly and did a good job in difficult circumstances.

Interesting conversion from old industrial building - perhaps a future review of adding lift access to upper floors (if planning authorities permit).

Ground floor bedroon window firectly onto pathway also closest to outsidd area which was busy fue to good weather also room at star of corridor so wuite a lot of traffic from people back and forward to rooms and electric cupboard outside bedroom door so chatting workmen ft like sll these people sharing room eith me noish throughout night with passers by and folk stipping outside window for chat

Enjoy our stay was very central for shops etc, hotal good do with an uplift and bathroom in room not very clean as in legde above sink was in need of cleaning and bathroom fan had not been cleaned in a long time

I was impressed by the façade of the building and the staff but i felt the cleanliness of the room was a disappointment, the bathroom door in particular could have done with a good clean, wasn't the best cleanliness wise in the room at all.

We stopped here to break the journey up on a trip to the Orkneys and would definitely stop here again. Its centrally located with free parking (ask for the code if you use the car park with the barrier) and we liked the fact that it is a former water mill and still has the mill stream running through the hotel which you can see through a glass floor.

disappointing stay not worth the money

Stayed at the Perth Mercure last October and had a great experience hence why we booked the same two night bed and breakfast and a dinner deal again BUT BOY WHAT A LET DOWN .we arrived a little early but the reception staff were pleasant and helpful said room was ready ,however as we walked down the corridor there were wine glasses lying outside room doors and two half empty bottles of wine left on the window ledge next to our room the glasses lay till the next day the wine bottles where still there when we left two days later . The room was adequate but tired looking , it was on the ground floor and had a window which open out fully there was no catch to be able to leave it ajar a little so we had to keep it fully closed at all times as anyone could have easily gained access to the room .it was a roasting hot week so this was not at all ideal room felt like a sauna uncomfortable sleep due to heat in room and subjected to disturbance lots of shouting and arguing about 12pm .The biggest let down was the food breakfast was completely sub standard and cold and our meal looked like some one had gone into Iceland picked up a box of Frozen fish honestly worst fish i have ever seen inedible and the burger wasn't any better it was cooked within an inch of its life .dessert was ok but miniscule , such a huge let down as previously couldn't fault the food i know that hospitality have had a difficult year but seems like they are cutting corners to claw some money back .I could have booked much better quality and paid less but booked this thinking it would be nice to return but sad to say this will be our last visit . Huge disappointment.
