We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Perth,( thankfully before the current situation). The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and very efficient. Dinner on the first night was very enjoyable too, with plenty of choice. Breakfast was plentiful and set us up well for the rest of our days out and about. The hotel has a great location, close to the centre, near the Concert Hall and bars and restaurants (all within walking distance). We also enjoyed a few good walks during our visit and on returning to our room found it cosy, war and comfortable. The housekeeping staff do a great job as well. An extremely enjoyable experience all round. First class.

The hotel and staff performed very well under the current difficult circumstances re Coronavirus and its renovation work. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional throughout. Excellent breakfasts on both mornings 10/10. At dinner, our rib eye steaks were tough, required a great deal of chewing, and steak knives not available so it was tricky. However, the chocolate dessert was gorgeous! Again, thank you to the wonderful staff who made us feel so welcome and at home.

Hotel clean. Staff very helpful. Plenty of hand sanitisers located around hotel. Room OK but noisy due to being ground level and the room above floorboards needing replaced. Evening meal and breakfast very good. Would stay again but definitely in a different room.

Reasonable stay in a centrally located hotel

Booked three night and really satisfied with the price. The hotel is centrally located in Perth and about 10 mins walk to both the bus and train station. It is just over 10 mins to the Black Watch Museum. The hotel is in old mill house with lots of character. Inside, the hotel has made a feature of the original mill house waterwheel by making a glass viewing panel in the floor by reception and a partial replica water wheel showing how the wheel operated. I thought this was a nice touch. There is free parking at the hotel. We parked outside without a problem but the hotel was quiet so not sure if all guest would get a space if the hotel was full. Reception was quick and the staff were pleasant and offered advice on places to eat, etc. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was of a good quality. I think a buffet would have been the norm but the current Virus situation may have made it easier since the hotel was quiet. The coffee machine was broken so coffee and hot water were in Jugs and the water for the tea was not as hot as it could have been. There is a sizeable bar area but we only used it once for a nightcap. Sadly, for all the above good points, the interior areas of the hotel, particularly the rooms, are very dated and in need of a revamp. The bathroom for example had purple 6 x 6 tiles and the bath was stained with poorly applied silicon sealant around the bath lip. The room itself was clean and the beds comfy, although they were on castors and moved about a bit. The windows were very poorly fitting, and single glazed so, although we asked for a quiet room, we could hear voices outside but thankfully not too early in the morning. Tea and coffee facilities were in the room and a reasonable sized TV. Despite the reservations about the decor, we enjoyed our stay and would not have a problem staying here again. All the staff were pleasant and acknowledged the shortcomings of the decor. Following the installation of decent windows and a face lift I would have no problems to give a 9 for my stay. The out side is currently being renovated

Would not stay again, breakfast very poor, evening meal very limited, clean and comfortable bed. Bedroom sparse and in need of upgrading. Very poor products and replacement of same.

The two night's b&b with dinner on the first night plus a bottle of wine at table was excellent value for money. We have been going to Perth Mercure Hotel for quite a few years now, but feel that the room we were in was a bit tired and needing a refresh, however, the stay was very enjoyable & food very tasty.

Arrived to room to find a sanitary pad stuck to window. Reported immediately to reception, took one and a half days before it was removed after asking three times. Should have been a bottle of wine in room on arrival, had to ask 3 times before it arrived. No breakfast left both days, had to look for someone to make one for us. 6 others after us had to do same. Went for an after dinner drink as advised on website. Was freezing and had to go and look for someone to serve us. Ended up taken our drink to our room as it was so cold. Seemed to be no staff. Have stayed in hotels before out of season and have never experienced anything like this before. Really disappointed. Emailed manager but have not had a response. Will never be back and wood not recommend to anyone.

For a start the front doors were not working with no sign informing guests The rooms were tired looking and the shower was probably the least powerful I’ve experienced in a hotel

What a hotel !!!! The rooms needed totally refurbishing - tiles in bathroom had been painted but paint peeling / only very poor shower over the bath but bath had no bath mat you had to ask reception for one. Corridors very scruffy looking. Asked for food at bar to be told there wasn’t any as there was a conference on and then we rang for room service at night to be told the chef had gone !! We have never stayed in a hotel in such poor condition. Would definitely not recommend.
