« Bit tired and needing modernised but overall fine for a couple of nights »

Ok good points first, great location with parking, staff friendly and helpful, public areas areas really nice and great water feature, breakfast really tasty and plenty of it, breakfast staff friendly and helpful. The only downside to this hotel is the rooms need modernised along with bathrooms and showers. Slept with the window open and a few drunks shouting during the night woke me up but not the hotels fault.

« A good central hotel »

Centrally located with a free car park.Rooms are good but not brilliant. Breakfast was ok but they need to ditch the coffee machine and go back to serving you a pot of coffee. Stayed there a few times and would go back again.

« The staff were the only good thing about the hotel »

We booked with a voucher and just as well as there is no way I would have paid full price for this hotel. The room decor needs serious updating. Even though breakfast is stated to be buffet style, don’t be surprised if you come down at 7am to wait a further 20 minutes for your breakfast which you have to order. Not on for early work starters. I had to leave without a hot breakfast. The coffee machine also was not working properly. The only thing 5* about the hotel was the staff who were so welcoming and lovely. I feel they are let down by what they have to work with.

Disappointed as on the 1st night we never received our complimentary bottle of wine with dinner, on the 1st morning we never had a Hot Buffet at breakfast either We paid for a Glass of Wine with the Dinner (£10.50) due to this being the only White wine available and on the 3rd evening we still had not received our complimentary Bottle of Wine and were given the option of again purchasing a £10.50 glass of wine at the bar and receiving the rest of the bottle for free, so in reality our "complimentary wine" cost us £21 After adding an extra night to our booking our room wasn't cleaned even though we left around 09:45 and never returned till after 5pm If it wasn't for the fantastic staff that are employed st this Hotel my overall experience would have rated a 1 or a 2 The 1st / nights were booked through Itison voucher and 3rd night was booked on Le Accor App

« Disappointing for a Mercure »

We have stayed in a number of Mercure hotels all of which have been good and this was mediocre compared to the others. Our room should have had robes and slippers. The slippers finally arrived at 5pm, we were told the robes had just been washed and were drying but would be brought up, they finally arrived at 9.15;pm some 4 hours later. Service was offhand, dinner was underwhelming and breakfast buffet had very little on it. Mercures are usually very good, this poor at the price we paid.

« Pleasant staff but room needs upgrading »

The window in room had quite a gap in it when closed and let a lot of cold air and noise in. Bathroom needed upgraded. Bed very comfy. Could do with more variety in breakfast buffet especially cold stuff such as fruit. The staff were mostly very friendly. Hotel was very convenient for town centre and restaurants. Parking on arrival was difficult but fine on other days

Tom and I were very happy with our stay, however our meal on the 15.11.19 was not good at all. We both ordered a steak and we were both looking forward to it as we had not eaten anything since lunch time. I ordered a medium to well done and Tom rare to medium. When the food arrived the plate was cod and so was the food. I complained to the waiter asking for the manager, Jamie arrived and I advised that we were not going to pay for the meal due to it being cold and that the blood was running out from my steak. This was very unfortunate however I was reassured from Jamie that he would have a discussion with the chef. We would like to hope that the chef was advise about basics ensuring that the plates are always HOT, and that the steak was cooked to the dinners request.

« Disappointing »

The rooms are very tired need of updating. Our bed duvet cover had marks all over them. We did two nights with meal on first night which was terrible was looking forward to our weekend away and as we don’t eat out very much. We where look forward to our meal. There was no chicken, it was eatable but not worth the money.

« Worst hotel I have ever stayed in »

Rated as 1 because it wouldn't let me put 0!!! Room number 1 had blood stains on the mattress topper that I could see through the sheets. Room number 2 the toilet hadn't been cleaned. It was in an unacceptable condition. Room number 3 we stayed in only because we felt we couldn't keep changing. In this room the shower was just a dribble. It had to be down to 0 to get the smallest amount of pressure. A cold shower in November is not ideal when it's 2 degrees outside. Part of the toilet flush was missing. All rooms are tired and dated, the furniture worn. Breakfast consisted of sausages that were still pink inside and burnt bacon. For almost £100 each night this was a complete rip off. I would never stay in this hotel again. Usually I love staying in a hotel but this time I couldn't wait to get home.

« Lovely hotel, great location »

Very nice hotel and food but the drinks are ridiculously over priced as is the food. We only ate a meal with you because it was included in our package.

« Well placed to walk around town »

Friendly front of desk staff - BUT if someone had taken the time when checking out to ask if everything was ok would have told them plug under desk in Room 201 was broken so had to sacrifice the standard lamp to charge laptop. The shower was very poor Extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was fine but coffee had no flavour!
