Great. The only thing that bothered me was the breakfast. Microwave eggs with butter and milk is something I can not eat. No options for gluten free lac free sugar free

« Good value hotel, could employ more bilingual staff and be more earth-friendly »

I was happy to stay 7 nights at Ibis Budget BH Afonso Pena. I am particularly grateful to David and Marco Tulio, two of the staff who can speak English. It was a relief to be able to speak to hospitality staff who are conversant in English. With other staff we sometimes conversed using Google Translate. I am quite disappointed that while the hotel promotes in the room to help save the earth, the cleaning staff change my towels everyday even though I hang my used towel in the rack for my reuse (and not put on the floor). Also everyday they remove my hardly used soap, and replace it with brand new packaged ones. Sometimes I have to keep my used soap out of their sight so I can reuse it. Please be more true to your promise to help save the earth. Don't change the guest's soap, you can offer a new packaged one, but don't throw the perfectly usable soap. Also make it clearer what guests have to do if they want to reuse their towels and if they do not yet want to change to new towels. I had an Accor membership but because I booked through Agoda the hotel couldnt give Accor points for my stay.

Good location, in the heart of Savassi area, very friendly staff, simple check-in, accommodation small but perfectly within the spirit of a budget accommodation. I would return in my next time in BH.

Me and another friend who also stayed at the same hotel found the Ibis cloistered atmosphere absurd. I had never seen an elevator system that needs identification. When the identification failed, and it was failing a lot, we needed to leave the elevator for not to harm the other guests ride. I know it's one of the UNNECESSARY tools for protection. The internet system that I have not used also requires UNNECESSARY registration for access. Those who have never been to a maximum security prison can have a brief experience of how to feel controlled by staying at Ibis. I sincerely hope you will rethink the guest freedom control system. No one in their right mind would choose an invasive hosting service at this level.

« Expensive for a low budget hotel »

The bathroom was smelling like a swamp. The TV is very small. The window does not block all lights. And it opens just 10cm making the ambient very uncorfotable for breathing.

« Great stay »

The bed was surprisingly comfortable and they cleaned our room everyday, replacing towels etc so it was always perfectly clean. Workers in the reception were very friendly and helpful, but the key system in the elevator had a lot of problems. It would demagnetize and people would have to change keys all the time which was frustrating.
