Hotel Sofitel Kunming

Excellent experience with clubhouse facilities and good evening cocktails selection. The turndown service was excellent with a given gold-package of local traditional pu-er was very welcoming and pleasant every nights. I have been to many hotels' executive floors clubhouse and this hotel offer the best of all that I ever experienced. Thanks for the great experience!

Nice hotel with very friendly staff - especially the check in desk and Concierge. The Check-in staff were very pleasant and helpful and made the checking in process easy. A special mention also to Concierge - Jay Yang and his team. They were always ready to assist in all matters. Their "professionalism" is really admirable.

Stayed on two occasions, for a total of 3 nights. This hotel is amazing. We have travelled in many places over the years, and the Sofitel Kunming is one of the best, if not the best, hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional, and the service was outstanding. Our room was beautiful, very big, and with floor to ceiling windows had a superb view of the city and beyond to the lake and mountains. Breakfast was also superb, as were the meals at LAN restaurant, and even without our Accor member dining discounts (which we used), were very reasonably priced, especially compared to other hotel restaurants we ate at. Would highly recommend this hotel. Don't stay anywhere else in Kunming!

Sofitel Kunming, the location of the hotel is very excellent, close to the Joy City complex and also the Carrefour market 10 minutes walk, You will find a lot of bakeries and great restaurants, its location amidst many tourist places, 15 minutes by taxi Akshan Lake, 7 minutes by taxi to the famous Jinbo Street, 20 minutes rock city Shilin, 15 minutes to Yuling Mountain , The reception was beautiful and wonderful I liked the way the general manager welcomed me . The general manager is encouraging assistant managers to keep in touch with every customer, and every day you see something new in the hotel or room, flowers, fruits, and tea. All staff speak English, provide assistance and information to all the tourist attractions in the city, see the smile on all staff at the hotel. The room is very nice and the decor and colors are quiet and organized and luxurious make you start your day with a comfortable feeling . The restaurant is beautiful overlooking the panorama of the city and the lake, they have Chef Mohamed, the quality of the food in the buffet is varied and international, the restaurant and the staff are very clean and energetic, and I liked something if you want special food and not present in the buffet within minutes they provide . I thank the Director General for working comfortably during my stay at the hotel. Really a great hotel and an intelligent General manager who has rules and foundations for the success of the hotel. Thank you to all the wonderful assistant managers who are actively working, and all the staff at the hotel. Thank Kunming City, thank the Chinese people for their hospitality to me in their wonderful country.

Very well maintained and modern hotel although tmuch of the interior design was poorly conceived and rather urgly. F&B Manager Mr King LAN and Executive Chef Mo were both very friendly and helpful indeed but there was little sign of middle or other senior management on duty. My luxury room was excellent. The Executive lounge was specious with very good range of food during happy hour, but range of drinks and cocktail list were very limited. The female staff in the lounge spoke little English, appeared inadequately trained and need to be tasught to be pro-active with their service. Conciege staff and drivers did their best to be helpful which was a plus.

Excellent customer service during our check-in, especially for the Accor member. A thumbs up specially to the front desk supervisor, Ms. Vitamin Li 李霞. However, we have been given a wrong information by others at the front desk on the requirements for the swimming cap for the swimming pool. A great variety of choice for the breakfast, which is our first encounter with so many type of breakfast among our experiences with other 5-star hotel. Overall, it is a very good experience for our family stay in Sofitel Kunming.

This modern hotel in the beautiful garden city KUNMING make our 7 days trip in YUNAN finished in a relaxing way. Their concierge services are excellent! They always provided right suggestions for dinner, walking area or shopping district in a very nice attitude.

I spent 3 nights in Sofitel Kunming with a very good experience. The staff is very friendly and Professional. The hotel is well situated in the center of the city and closed to several shopping malls. The rooms are large, very comfortable and the view is amazing. The breakfast was excellent. A special thanks to Izgil and Caroline for their kind attention and advices.

Really enjoyed my stay.Very helpful, friendly staff. Beautiful, quiet room, with great bathroom, including circular bath, TV, shower room, and lovely dressing area.Wide choice of hot and cold food at breakfast.Fabulous views.Enjoyed swimming in the sizeable pool, lifeguard present. Definitely hope to return.

Very friendly reception and lobby staff. Minimum waiting time to check-in. Executive lounge service top-class. Breakfast very substantial, catering for all tastes. Lobby and restaurant Managers were very helpful.

Great hotel to have rest and ejoy some days in Kunming. Dont miss breakfast buffet, even you have to walk away on the lounge to find some meals, and losing some time in coming and go from your table to the buffet área...

Magnificent hôtel, view offer the city is unique. Breakfast at 49th splendid with many choices and quality is not forgotten. We tried another 5 star hotel, believe me there is no comparison. In terms of general conform, decoration and western oriented service, Sofitel is a safe place to go to.

Would not hesitate to stay here again. Great food, room and service. The location is great too, it's a nice easy walk to the downtown area and Kunming is great. I'd recommend getting the breakfast included since the choices and quality of the food are outstanding. Everyone working there is very friendly and helpful. I don't have one negative thing to say about the place. I used their laundry service which I thought was very reasonably priced, and they were also able to do currency exchange for me (USD to RMB). The room was large and modern with a great view and the bed was extremely comfortable.

I am so regretted that I did not stay in this hotel for more nights! This hotel is so elegant. I love it so much. The room is so clean, the service is very good and the breakfast is the best I have ever had in my trip.
