This was a great price for a room with breakfast so just what we needed for our one night stopover to visit our daughter. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean but it was so hot it was stifling even with the window open in mid-winter! This and other guests in nearby rooms chatting into the small hours prevented us from having a good night's sleep and may put us off returning next time we stay in Birmingham.

« Great value for money »

Checking in was very easy, with parking right next to the entrance. The room was clean and fresh when we very first went in and cleaners came around daily to clean and replace towels etc. Location is a little off city although close enough for visiting Bham. Highly recommended.

We checked in on January 18 and were scheduled to stay two nights. There were 9 of us including elderly, children and adults. First there was no luggage trolley to take the luggage up to the rooms, so we had to roll our bags up ourselves. Which took about 10 minutes, my husband and Brother In law had left the cars parked on the side to help get everyone situated. When they went to go move their car, the security guard started yelling them and was using abusive language. When my brother asked him to stop, he said he doesn't give a "Fxxx" and if we wanted to leave we could. The guy (Jimmy) was rude and obnoxious. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Personnel is an issue as well as the management. I am told by the General Manager that he was there and nothing like this happened, (even thought the clerk at checkin confirmed that the security guard shouldn' t have spoken that way) so there is also an integrity issue. On a side note: we were there to attend an event that was going to take place at the same IBIS on Jan 19, but on Christmas Eve, the General Manager informed our family in Birmingham, that the the hotel had booked someone else with a larger event and they were confirming our event for now to be held on Jan 18th. when asked why the error. the GM Danny told them that it was a Calendaring mistake. Especially when our family went in paid for the hotel rooms back on December 16 or somewhere there. Asking for our money back is an understatement. Accor hotels should take strict action against this hotel.

« A well located economical and clean hotel with ample parking with very courteous diverse staff »

I stayed at this hotel 3 months ago and was forced to extend my stay and recently on this visit, I was forced once again to extend my stay. Maybe it felt so cosy and comfortable and felt no need to leave Birmingham quickly One downside to the visit was Lashona's Pineapple hairstyle on my final day :) despite this, I will still recommend this hotel.

Must be our 3rd or 4th stay over last 2 years and our return is our recommendation. Continental breakfast good and served till 10AM. Main road busy but edgbaston reservoir nearby for walks. 10 mins easy walk down hill through quiet suburbs.

Rooms small Hot and stuffy Limited ventilation from window We had no running water for a shower in the morning for at least an hour When we told reception they didn’t seem too surprised or concerned For this reason would not stay here again

We requested ground floor room, due ti mobility issues,and given room no.1 we checked inn after a very hectic day and wanted to sleep straight away. But constantly disturbed by strange noises, we were told by reception that some kind of maintenance work going on and will be over soon. But noises kept on going even after 11 pm.than we were told it's coming from lift, and they promised to change our room in the morning.every time someone used the lift its loud echo coming to the room. I was still up around midnight as couldn't go to sleep, and suddenly someone entered in our room by using key. I screamed, and my husband,who was asleep jumped out of bed in a state of shock. When I called reception, i was told by Jimmy that he gave key to his regular customer without checking that this room has already given to someone else. He also said its very common in this business.I was surprised at his attitude and told him that this is a serious mistake and we never experienced this in our life.he asked me not to be rude.which made me so angry. I asked him to shift us in other room which he told us to check before we move. My husband checked the room but not bathroom.Any way we moved to the room with his help and he did apologised for his behaviour. In the morning we realized that bathroom floor has loose tiles which was safety hazard and bath tub which i could not enter. In the morning we requested to change the room again, a house keeping staff called Izz (i think) was very kind and suggested room 209 which was quietest with walk in shower.so the second night was good.

We travelled from London to Birmingham for a family funeral and requested a quiet room in order to fully rest. The hotel kindly accommodated our request and we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel (thankfully not with a view of the bins) for two nights. We were surprised to find out that we had to pay for the room on arrival and not at checkout. We're very well travelled and have never had to do this before. The room was clean and functional with all the amenities we required for a good night's sleep. The bed was comfortable and perfectly postioned to see the TV. We liked the all purpose soap which functioned as hand soap, shampoo and shower gel. No toilet brush in the bathroom though. The shower had great pressure and the water temperature was hot and easy to regulate. Towels were nice and soft. Would have appreciated a shower cap in the bathroom as I forgot mine. Breakfast was adequate, but would have appreciated some bread rolls amongst the bagels and pastries and more choice of meats. On the second night, we had some noisy neighbours and had to make a complaint to reception. To the hotel's credit, this was swiftly dealt with. Free car parking was a great bonus. We would definitely stay at the hotel again if the opportunity arose.

Experienced very rude behaviour to the point of being abusive; asked in the middle of night to just go away and go to any 4 star hotel after we sought help with shower; was told that we were the only people who complained; will never ever stay in this hotel.

When booking we asked for a soft bed but the bed we had was very hard when I asked in the morning about soft bed we were told all beds are standard. Very hard bad nights sleep. Not for the Frist time we have stayed in this hotel were the alarm has gone off late evening so what with hard bed and the alarm could not get back to sleep Breakfast is good and what was available is ample.

Overall the stay was satisfactory, there was a few issues, i booked two family rooms 201 & 206, room 206 was ok however it was a bit cramped, room 201 was well set out the main issues was the heating was on constantly and was very uncomfortable especially at night this was compounded by the constant dripping drain pipe outside our room, the pull out bed was comfortable enough however my son experienced bites on his leg due to bed mites.
