Reception handled check-in and ny continual extensions with aplomb... Room had a great view if it was a trifle small, the bed was comfortable and I slept well. What was lacking in the room was a place to unpack my cases. Most hotels (not just Ibis) have a platform of sorts where you can place your baggage where you can have ease of access to the contents. I loved the freshly pressed orange juice for breakfast and drank copious amounts each day. Covid prevented the usual daily cleaning of the room, but overall the level of cleaning carried out by the staff was impecable for the public areas. The big let down for me was the quality of the restautrant food which I ate one evening. The fish was hard and dry on the exterior and luke warm on the interior and the so-called maison frites were just awful, dry and tasteless. I sent back an almost untouched plate. It was so bad. I hoped that the desert would at least cheer up my palate, but no. Having the audacity to call it rum baba is an insult to the dish itself. I can say without fear of repudidation that it was the worst rum baba in the world. In spite of my complaints, I was charged for the food. Although I would have no problems recommending this hotel to friends who were going to go to Dax, I would tell them not to eat in the restaurant.

A nice hotel spoiled by horrible tasteless decoration. The interior design seems to have been done by children. The staff were helpful and very nice and the position of the hotel in Dax is excellent. Breakfast was good.

Ibis hotels generally do exactly what you expect, so they rarely out perform expectations but can under perform. Ibis Styles Dax was a clean and efficient hotel but from the day we arrived there was a smell of urine in the toilet. It all looked spotless so it must obviously have needed a ‘deep clean’ more often that it was getting one.

The location of the hotel is superb being located right on the river. The hotel decor is sadly lacking and cracks are showing, literally. Our room had massive cracks in the ceiling, walls and bathroom. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is super.

We were recognised readily and clearly guided how and where to park, which was uppermost in my mind having learned there was no hotel parking. We had a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant. We did not fancy having to find an outside one in the locality and were prepared for an average experience at the hotel. However, the hotel restaurant was wonderful. Breakfast was great too, with plenty of choice. The room, very unexpectedly, had a small balcony with a great view. We often choose ibis. This was the best ibis we've stayed at.

Nice Ibis style in centre of town, very small room with separate shower room and toilet, no wash hand basin in toilet, door from room to a very small external standing area if you want to look at river. Air con didn’t work and it doesn’t in a lot of the Ibis we stay in. Nice breakfast Dax is nice for a walk around and it has an amazing cathedral

A good break in Dax

My wife and I had five days in the Ibis Dax and, apart from the decor of the 'Styles' bedrooms which are a bit weird for me, I cannot fault it. The position of the hotel is ideal and although the hotel itself does not have a car park there is a huge underground public one directly behind the hotel less than a couple of minutes walk away. We didn't use the spa facilities but we did use the restaurant which is very good. The staff were perfect with always a smile and a friendly greeting. The view over the river was beautiful, we will return.
