Cosy comfort in the heart of Sydney Rocks

RichardDawnCastle Business - TripAdvisor review

Spent a couple of weeks here whilst on a business trip. Hotel is based in the historic Rocks area of Sydney meaning you've got lots of restaurant opportunities as well as the Saturday market to explore. Everything within very easy walking distance. The bridge looms high close to the hotel and dramatic views of the Opera House and harbour area are only a short walk away. Parking served by a Wilson car park with city-parking prices. Access by road to the main city arteries is very easy. Room was clean and functional. Problem with the bathroom shower drain was quickly and efficiently resolved by the team who were only too keen to help. Breakfast was a highlight and the staff polite and attentive. Star of the show was Moss the night manager who was extremely helpful on a couple of occasions. First was when I fell during an early morning ramble around the city (cycleway kerb stone was not that obvious when I was crossing a road!) and promptly got the first aid kit out for materials to bandage my knee. The second was when I was checking out super-early and he sorted out a quick breakfast for me as nothing in the area had opened yet (at 4.30am!) The hotel itself is a beautiful restoration of an old trading building and it's been tastefully converted with lots of interesting detail. I'd certainly recommend to those looking for local convenience and something a bit more interesting than your average high-volume tourist ghetto hotel.

This is a wonderfully located, beautifully restored hotel in the heart of the Rocks. The rooms are small but modern. The staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. A great place to stay for either business or pleasure.

Really enjoyed the boutique hotel experience. Manager Maxine couldn’t do anymore to help us enjoy our stay… she was wonderful

Plain and unkept is not a type of style

Costs as any 4 stars in the area. Shower mininal, like a hostel/military style, Chipped tile. Toilette seat 10 dollar plastic. No nespresso, fridge not stocked.
