Chose to stay here for proximity to St Vincent's hospital, which was an easy 15 minute walk each day (sometimes several times a day). Got hugely inconsistent service from various staff members. Dining at Cafe for Breakfast was different each day.

Awesome spot, close to lots without being right in the middle of hot spots. Shorts walk to some good pubs, bars and restaurants. Superior rooms and amenities along with great service. We will stay again.

I was part of a group of people staying the weekend. None of the facility options/closures were advised to me, I had overhead some of it from the person checking in before me only. Also upon departing despite being next in line the second attendant who came from the back looked at me and then past me and served a family who had only just came from lift, with no acknowledgement to me. It was actually then another guest who said to me " you will be next" in an acknowledgement of what had just occured. I was then however served by another attendant who had been serving someone whilst I waited. I felt that despite the modest change to normal rate, the lack of facilities and staffing still did not attract a $197 room only rate. I had also made enquiries to re-engage as an ACCOR Plus member the day before arrival, but I am rethinking this.

After paying $269 for a room that included breakfast, I was told on arrival breakfast was complimentary due to the restrictions the hotel had in place at the moment - still paid $269 therefor breakfast was not complimentary. I also incurred a $6.73 international transaction fee that I was not advised about. I ordered breakfast for 8 am as I had a 9 am teleconference. 8.15 am I called down to say breakfast had not arrived - they had no record of me ordering it at 5.30 pm the evening before. It took another 2 phone calls to get my order put into the kitchen. Breakfast arrived at 9.10 am when I was already on my call, so I ate a cold breakfast at the conclusion of my meeting. Breakfast itself was disappointing with 2 bitesize pieces of pineapple and rockmelon for my side of seasonal fruits. No Gluten free options with bread. I didn't find out the bar and restaurant were not open due to COVID until arrival - this was not displayed on the booking site. Also, parking was $55 for overnight. Again extra charge for parking was not displayed on the booking site. I didn't have to pay it though due to the problems with my breakfast. Room was clean although the shower set up was problematic with water flowing all over the bathroom floor. Overall probably won't stay here again.

High Expectations Dissappointing Results

When I stay at a Pullman I have high expectations and the reputation of Pullman Hyde Park gave me confidence that my expectations would be met. However: 1. My initial Impression was check in where there was no assistance with my bags - although the girl was polite. 2. I then moved my car to the car park which was filthy (discarded rubber/surgical gloves; litter takeaway food wrapping all over the place, floor covered in drink or other liquid stains - just an over view). 3. Went to my room and the toilet didn't flush - 2 days t fix with me flushing the toilet with the kettle. 4. Wanted to take a bottle of wine up to my room after dinner. After a couple of days, I found out that they were charging me restaurant prices and if I ordered as room service, the wine was $20 cheaper. On the next night, I asked if I could get the cheaper price if I ordered and took it up with me. The girl enquired and while I was accommodated, I was asked a few times who told me - it felt like an interrogation so they could punish the person. While the room itself was otherwise comfortable and the staff in general were polite - what I just described makes this a poor experience. I get it that the CORONA Virus response means a wound back service and I appreciate the pressure that the team is under to meet requirements for safety. But … I'll leave it at that.

The room was generally comfortable but the hotel overall did not live up to what I expect of a Pullman. In short I was disappointed: 1. The car parking was filthy 2. The elevators were clunky and the swipe cards was difficult to get to operate 3. 2 Days with out a toilet that flushes (I flushed using the kettle) 4. Frankly "Ripped Off" by the Restaurant/Bar by over charging me for wine and when I found out, being interrogated to identify the source of how I found out

I used to stay here for business but this was my first time back in 8 years. It is a really great location with fantastic views over Hyde Park. It would benefit from updating and some more attention to in room info and better room service menus etc but then we did visit during Covid. The staff were excellent and really kind.

We were relocated from Novotel Haymarket due to Covid 19. I contacted the Pullman several times to confirm that i was travelling with my Father and require TWO beds plus a balcony. On arrival we checked into an extremely small room with ONE king bed, they were willing to place a rollaway bed in the room which would have left us with no room at all to walk around the room (my Father has poor eyesight, which i advised them of before arriving). We were then placed in a suite which we still had to request a rollaway, I had spoken to reception staff several times over the phone to discuss sleeping arrangements. They suggested that my Father or myself slept on the sofa which was only suitable for a four year old child. The room was also very dirty, i took some disinfectant wipes and wiped everything in the room. I would never have expected to do this in a 5 star Motel, there was NO minibar & only one cup in the room, NO movie channel, mould arould the top of the bath, dust absolutely everywhere, stains all over the sofa, only 4 sachets of sugar & 2 tea bags. When housekeeping came to clean our room at 4pm after our first night they didn't leave clean facewashers, sugar, milk, tea bags or coffee, the rollaway bed wasn't made. When I requested milk after phoning reception I was advised that they were out of milk, this also happened on our second day....still no milk. I bought my own tea bags and sugar. The corridors also needed vacuuming plus the lighting was very poor. We travel to Sydney often for Doctors appointments for my Father, we were excited when we were told that we had been upgraded from 4 star to 5 star & after researching over the internet I liked what I saw only to be extremely disappointed upon arrival. I would have asked for a refund and found accommodation elsewhere but unfortunately was unable to do so. Will know better next time, we will stick with the Radisson.

The rooms were well appointed and easy to move around. Great facilities in each room without needing to ask and wait on room service, which we noticed was pretty quick too. The only comment I’d add is that the height of the bed in your disabled room was just a bit too high. Otherwise, we were very happy.

One of many return visits due to its location, quality accommodation and welcoming staff. Appreciated the complementary upgrade to a lovely junior suite. Enjoyable room service and breakfast in Cafe 36. Some problem logging into wifi on arrival which was resolved after a visit to reception. Unfortunately the spa in 1716 did not work and my request for a daily paper did not eventuate. Room service tray left outside the door and remained there until some time overnight. Perhaps these minor problems were due to staffing issues In light of the current virus and economic situation. The accommodation of the Geelong AFL team could have added to the problem
