« A bit disappointed. »

Concierge staff were very friendly & welcoming, very helpful (taking care of luggage as we arrived early). Room & bedding was very good. Cleanliness very good. Pool was smaller than I thought it would be, luckily we were the only ones there at the time, but it was nice. Breakfast was quite disappointing. Scrambled eggs seemed like powdered eggs, bacon did not taste nice, I don't like chicken sausages (no other choice); toaster kept burning toast; coffee machine didn't produce hot enough coffee & average taste. Fruit was lovely; display was good & plenty of other cereal & yoghurt options. Toilet was below par, very small & only one for men & women; cleaning equipment was kept behind wash basin...not a pleasant visit. One more thing....please get rid of the complementary bathroom items eg shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. People can bring their own & together we can help reduce plastics for the environment.

The room was spacious and clean. Lot of power sockets and USB ports to recharge your multitude of devices. Excellent WIFI speeds. A large bathtub awaits you to soak your tired bones. There is a NESPRESSO machine to serve you a very good cup of Coffee.

« Overall stay was great »

Upon check-in the lady at the counter was very welcoming and helpful. The room looks good and more up to date. We did have issue with the lift not working on the day of checking out but as I work in the customer service industry this could be forgiven. Also the website is a bit confusing. I chose the hotel as I book and added my Qantas Business Client Contract number which show me hotels that has pay parking highlighted and hotels that parking not highlighted. Sydney Pullman Hyde park was not highlighted so I thought that I do not have to pay for parking. I just wish that the website was more clear on the pay parking.

all staff extremely friendly and helpful. room very clean, housekeeping are doing an awesome job. your executive lounge was average to poor, yes great views but limited choice of food on offer. felt like sitting in a school cafeteria and dull design. I am coming back to the Pullman next weekend but i decided against booking executive this time.

Front end staff were more than helpful. The location in Sydney was just perfect and so quiet at night. Pity that house keeping seemed to miss a couple of towel things otherwise would have given 10/10.

The property is in poor condition. Our room was not clean, the balcony door was broken, hooks behind bathroom door broken, remote didn’t work in bedroom. All restaurants were not clean eg tables not wiped down, floor dirty.

« Poor "exexcutive" lounge »

Your hotel is 'saved" by the great staff you employ. Room 1611 (to which we were upgraded) is old. Bathroom comes out of the sixties, carpet has not been changed for XXXX years. 2 out of 3 elevators working is not good enough for a so called 5 * hotel. The "lounge" is always closed except from 6 till 9 am for breakfast and 5.30 till 700 pm for drinks so please stop calling it a lounge or talk to Platinum customers what THEY expect it to be

« Not quite the stay we expected »

We had booked 3 nights at the Pullman. When we arrived it was a bit early to check in so we went to the café to get some lunch. We were able to get into our room a bit before 2pm. The room was nice, very spacious and a lovely view over hyde park, however we didn't even stay one night, as when we returned from dinner, we discovered there was no hot water, and hadn't been any all day. We were not told this when we checked in, and there was no assurances that the issue would be fixed by the next morning. We did also hear from another guest that they had only had one hot shower in the last 3 days, so it was definitely a major issue. To the Pullman's credit they did offer to move us that night, and after some deliberation we decided to move that night. Pullman moved us to their sister property Swisotel in Market street and paid for the taxi to get us there. the next day we did get a call to tell us that the issues had been resolved and they would love for us to return. I am sure that we would have gotten an upgrade, and maybe other extras, but my husband didn't want the hassle of repacking and moving again so we stayed where we were. I would consider booking with the Pullman again, as they did their best to accommodate us.

« Waste of Stays Plus Night »

Our experience at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park started poorly, and didn't really get any better. As Accor Gold members, we decided to use our Stays Plus night for a last minute Valentines Day weekend. Unfortunately the Sofitel was booked, but we had good experiences with other Pullman properties previously, so decided to book one of their Park View rooms. Upon arrival at the hotel we were informed that the Park View room was unavailable, despite membership ensuring all rooms are guaranteed. As a member you might be lucky to get a room upgrade, but you would definitely not expect to be downgraded! We were downgraded to a "city" view room, which is essentially a view of a car park. Once in the room we noticed that the complimentary bottled water was missing. That's not really a big deal, but it is a nice thing to have. What I thought would be a quick call to reception ended up sitting on the phone for minutes waiting for someone to even answer the phone. By the time we got on to anyone who could help, we had to leave for dinner. Upon return to the room after dinner, we noticed that there were no towels in the bathroom. Again, I thought this would be quickly resolved by a quick call to reception. After multiple unanswered calls, I walked to reception myself to ask for towels. Instead of offering assistance, one staff member thought it was obviously more important to have a chat with a colleague, while his other colleague was busy dealing with another guest. After informing the person at the desk about all the issues experienced, I returned to the room to wait for the towels. They arrived, delivered by the chatty staff member, who thought at 12am it was acceptable to come to our room with some other guests he was friendly with, swearing, yelling, and otherwise carrying on about delivering the towels. After finally getting a total of three towels, my wife decided to run the bath, only to discover the diverter for the bath was faulty and the tap didn't work. By this stage we had given up on asking reception for anything, and decided to make do by filling the bath with the shower head. Breakfast the next morning in the "executive lounge" was a further disappointment. Served in perhaps the most unimpressive setting in Sydney, the breakfast is extremely limited, and even on weekends the lounge will close at 10am. To serve only pod style coffee is also a little sad for somewhere that bills itself as 5 star. In all, we definitely feel we wasted a night at this hotel, and definitely will not be staying again at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park. For anyone considering any of the Accor properties in the Sydney CBD, this property is simply not great. Definitely would suggest either Sofitel hotel if you are after a true 5 star stay, or save your money and stay at the Novotel or Ibis Darling Harbour.

« Perfect for business stay »

Overall a wonderful experience. The staff are delightful; the rooms comfortable and well maintained. Slight disappointment that the room's mini bar was not replenished during my stay. Also a shame the hours the executive lounge is not open later into the evening. Such issues though do not detract from the overall experience that makes returning to this hotel so easy.

« The club access is useless very low quality facilities »

When I came there, 2 staffs were talking to one family. I was waiting for them to finish but they kept assisting the family. I was wondering if one of the staff could help us. Anyway I was waiting for so long time. After I finally checked in, I needed to wait for a lift to go to 20th floor but one lift was out of order and it seemed like the second one is not working too. Only one lift was available but the cleaners and staff with a tray were using so I was waiting for 10 minutes again. I went to the room to wait for the extra bed that receptionist told us someone will bring it in 30 minutes but I was waiting for few hours.haha called but didn’t bring it early. I went to the club yo gave a finger food but the quality was not good. The swimming pool was very tiny but it was fine. Oh, the bathroom was so bad. I couldn’t really The next day, I tried to go to the ground floor to check out. There were a line to the lift and everyone was waiting for 45 minutes to 1 hour. That was really annoying. I will nevet recommend this hotel again. It’s just waiting waiting waiting.

This is a really good venue. Perfectly located very close to the CBD and with amazing views of Hyde Park. Rooms are really good with great bathrooms (although no storage in the bathrooms so everything needs to be left out). Big bath tubs and lovely powerful showers. Great bed and nice big TV. Well appointed. Breakfast was great but the single employee doing all the hot drinks for the whole restaurant was overloaded. Food excellent with a great choice. Definitely would return.

Quiet location with lovely views over Hyde Park. Close to trains and easy walking. Hotel itself has a great bar atmosphere with great staff. The cafe was limited for choice however. Breakfast was excellent food and coffee. Highly recommended. Unfortunately the weather was terrible with severe storms and the hot water was knocked out of action which was really bad to have to cope with cold showers. But it was fixed as soon as possible. Overall a nice weekend away for us except the cold showers.
