Good, but TV didn't work

Beautiful place to stay and the tour was awesome. The TV didn't work in the room though, even after one of the staff came to investigate, which was a bit difficult for the kids after dark.

Stunning views in peaceful location

We stayed in a three bedroom cottage. Loved that it was well appointed however still in keeping with its heritage. The general ambience of the q station is a breath Of fresh air in the heart of sydney.

Serious concerns with cleaning standards

M H. Families - 23/06/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

We stayed at Q Station, Manly on Saturday 13.6 as a family of 3, 2 adults and our 3.5-year-old son. After a "rocky" process to make the reservation we were excited to arrive, particularly as it was our first night away post-COVID19 related restrictions easing. On arrival to our room we were immediately disgusted. There were animal droppings on the front verandah and remnants of food + sticky, oily fingerprints on the front door. On entry into the room the floor was also dirty, the shower screen had a coating of soap scum and the coffee table was covered in the same red, oily food particles which were on the front door - possibly pizza or pasta sauce. Something that someone else, during a pandemic period, had eaten. To make this situation worse, the pillow which our son would be required to use for his fold-out bed was placed on top of this dirty coffee table. I moved the pillow to discover the filth. My instinct was to clean the table so I took a wipe and started wiping but I then realised that this could be dangerous for my health. And I was paying for a service. A dirty room in this current climate is totally unacceptable. My husband called reception and explained the situation. We were requested to wait outside and then taken to another room. This room was clean but the issue was never addressed. I actually couldn't sleep that evening, worried about what germs were present in our original room and feeling guilty that I had possibly put my family at risk by visiting this property, which so obviously didn't care about cleanliness, during a public health crisis. Should we have just stayed at home? The "breakfast pack" delivered the next day was a laughable mix of children's juice poppers, stale croissants and cut fruit in a small plastic container. All cold and all embarrassingly miserable. Fortunately, the grounds and the National Park were beautiful and we were able to take a walk and enjoy Quarantine Beach. We will never be returning and anyone who asked for our opinion on the property will be given our honest truth. I read with horror that Accor have been acknowledged by travel publications as having thorough coronavirus protocols and have been operational responsive. If I was more confident I should have asked for a full refund of our stay but of course, the reception staff did not want to talk about the issue. If I was more vengeful I would have sent the photos of the filth to a trashy, or even reputable, media outlet to highlight the serious issues with cleaning at Q Station that could be putting people at risk during an unprecedented pandemic.

We had a relaxing weekend. Went on ghost tour which was great. Dinner at boiler room which was sensation food.little disappointed that menu had to be changed from least visit but realise it’s not their fault but due to pandemic situation. Same with breakfast last time we had the buffet breakfast which was delicious, the boxed breakfast didn’t compare but again not your fault. I had a ghostly experience in my room which I was excited about. Thesutyle bus driver was extremely good, friendly and helpful. Administration staff were helpful and friendly. I had a fantastic stay and look forward to next visit hopefully with normal performance and no restrictions due to corona virus. Nevertheless I would stay again even with restrictions as I still had great time. Thank you

We stayed overnight in a Harbourview room and had dinner in the Boiler House. It was our first venture away from home since CV19 hit us in mid-March and it would a wonderful place to get outdoors, and explore, and lear.

Had better stays at Q station

Decided to stay the night for my sister's 50th on Long Weekend. I took advantage of a special offer with complimentary wine and box breakfast. Then received an email for upgrade. Which I took up. Unfortunately I did not receive the complimentary wine with package although I did take advantage of ordering etc bottles on the upgrade. The room was not cleaned properly and looked a little worse for wear, shame as the location was fabulous giving a country feeling in the city. Even though I had booked for 3 persons there was only cutlery for 2. Breakfast box very underwhelming I didn't receive my croissant which I called about but it never made it to me before checkout. Was hungry and for the price of the boxes I was bummed. Boiler house was good although the heaters overhead would not start so a bit chilly on a cold drizzly night. Possibly co-vid had tainted the usual service and quality of stay. A disappointment overall.

Coffee cups were filthy, no hygene.

We arrived in our room and my wife thought she should clean the coffee cups to make sure they were clean. They were filthy dirty. Your cleaners can to the room and only inspected things, to see if they looked clean. No sterilization. Can send photos of how dirty the hand towel was, after wiping them down. You want all the docs filled out for Corona Virus but don't have the cleaners that seem to understand what is required to sterilize cups, glasses. Decided not to stay under these circumstances and was promised a refund after couple of days. Three business days still no refund.

Beautiful location, gardens well maintained, room clean and ready for us, staff extremely helpful.

We had three lovely nights there over the June long weekend. We'd noticed that since our last stay fans had been added to the rooms for comfort in the summer months and some slight upgrades had been made. The staff were so welcoming and everything was attended to. We'd like to thank Q Station for looking after the grounds so beautifully during the lockdown. We even had a little bandicoot hang out with us on our first evening as we drank bubbles looking over the view to the city, and watching the ferries ply back and forth.

My family and I booked 3 rooms and was told they would be together. There was a spare room in between us all and I told a couple that my daughter and grandkids were staying next to them a 1 & 4 year old and before 8pm they knocked on my daughters door to complain about banging. I wish I had never spoken to them now. We were all in the room prior to this and just talking and eating. A 10pm noise curfew is expected and they were all fast asleep by then, but to take advantage of my telling them my daughter & family was staying there I was very annoyed.

This was I think the first opening since the shutdown for Covid19, so not all the restaurants were open as they normally would be. We had breakfast delivered, and also brought our own food, however as we were in the Hospital Apartment, there was nowhere to wash our dishes (except the bathroom sink which wasn't really ideal - and the apartment wasn't serviced during our stay (again due to the Covid19 conditions) - so there was rather a pile of dishes to be cleaned by the time we left.

We booked the luxury escapes package and many of the extras did not eventuate. You communicated that we could still hire bikes but then when we got their we couldn’t, we said we would get breakfast delivered. The breakfast was meant to be a hot breakfast we got a cold breakfast with no cutlery and you struggled to locate it. If you had managed our expectations then we would have arrived with a different expectation. In addition the sofa bed was terrible. It was a mattress with springs all through it. On the second night my son had to sleep on the couch. I did ask for a new roll away but it never turned up

No T. Families - 10/06/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

I booked this for my parents birthday present as I thought the ocean air, bush walks and harbour view would be a lovely break after months in Quarantine. We called 3 times to make sure we could get a ferry from Watson's Bay to the Q station and also to make sure the kiosk would be open for a picnic lunch for the whole family. We and were told that the ferry had stopped there during the week so it was probably running ok AND that the kiosk would be open for lunch. We also called and emailed the Fast Ferry 4x but no one ever got back to us. Needles to say we waited at Watson's Bay but the ferry never came so then half of us had to go all the way home to get a car to drive to the Q station whilst the other half of us caught the ferry to the city, then another ferry to Manly then had to pay for a taxi to the Q station. 2 hours after our planned arrival time we got there and everyone was starving but at the kiosk they only had coffee and a muffin. No sandwiches, no pies or anything hot, NO LUNCH items. This was a massive disappointment for the whole family and would have been avoidable. We could have easily eaten lunch in Manly or organised a picnic but when I had called earlier in the week the lady confirmed the kiosk would be open for lunch. After we had a drink at the kiosk, I called to see if my parents could check in early and the girl said yes since the rooms were ready and it was the first night re-open however, after we walked to the reception the girl said no it wasn't possible to check in slightly early. I explained my phone call and she then asked someone else who said it was ok. At that time a lady was sitting in reception who overheard my conversation and told me that girl had made her wait for 3 hours already which she seemed pretty upset about since the rooms were obviously ready for us. On arrival to our room there was NO bottle of wine, as promised in the package I had paid for. We went back down to the beach to show my parents the restaurant but when I checked my parents reservation for their special $160 meal - the manager could not find it and said reception never, booked it. He was great and assured me they would get a table but I had called the reception twice during the week prior to discuss this restaurant booking so was utterly shocked why it wasn't in the system. It caused us all much frustration. The location and museum are wonderful and I would book this place on a regular basis except the staff, systems and processes caused everyone unnecessary and avoidable anxiety, stress. There were just too many disappointments and silly mistakes. Although the restaurant made my parents feel like special guests the Q accomodation made them feel more like an annoyance. Tourism Australia says 6million ppl usually travel overseas from Australia each year but the majority of those will travel within Australia now. If I was the manager/owner I would want to know this information so I could retrain my staff and not loose any other customers. Best of luck. It's a magnificent spot but at the end of the day it's all the little things promised but not delivered that matters which is why I'm giving this review and feedback. ... notes Not working with the Fast Ferry Transport company - key to getting transport to the Q station Not being able to eat lunch at the Kiosk because although it was open - there was NO food to eat Not being able to check in and feel welcome - because reception had mixed messages Not having an important and expensive dinner reservation made - even though two phone calls had confirmed it during the week prior Not having the welcome bottle of wine in the room - as promised and paid for in the package advertised
