Great Spot, needs some updating

We stated for 2 nights on a Groupon deal, we have stayed on 2 prior occasions so we know and love this place. The only issue we had was some housekeeping anomalies with our room. These included the refrigerator being iced up and leaking, a noisy ceiling fan, and the beds not made on the second morning, nor the amenities refurbished.

Amazing work conference

We loved it next time we would upgrade to a Harbour view room as the room was very small and it only had a desk chair it really needs a chair to sit on to watch tv otherwise we loved the bus going around as I was unable to walk this was a great help

Very nice location and rooms in a reasonable condition

We checked in and asked if there were any rooms with a view and were sternly informed there were not. Occupancy was not high and it was a romantic period away. When we reached our room and walked around it was clear that there were quite a few rooms with a view so disappointing that no attempt was made to offer us one. Also there was a lot of noise from people who were attending a work conference after 11pm. It sounded like they were actually in our room for a while when conversing with each other. For conference groups it would be best they stay in another wing of the complex instead of being intermingle with other guests who are on a holiday. You know who the conference rooms are for so why not put them together in another section. We found the food in Bolierhouse KItchen and bar to be very good. Some of the staff good do with more training especially on making quick decisions like guests wanting to dine inside the restaurant which was empty after initially booking a table outside. Also when making a booking you should just need the room number instead of 50 questions as all the information is there. If you are not staying at the hotel then I understand.

Romantic escape.

Fantastic location, beautiful view, amazing sunset and sunrise for a romantic time away. The Boiler room restaurant was just brilliant and the food was excellent. Everyone that is working there was lovely. I loved the place, the museums, the beach, the view and every detail and every corner - rooms with its history. Also, all the people who work there, are very lovely and very polite with the visitors. Kind Regards.

Good weekend on the harbour

My wife and I stayed on Saturday night after enjoying a relaxed afternoon at Quarantine Beach. I was very impressed by the crystal clear waters and clean beach. Dinner was excellent and a we also enjoyed a relaxing meal before heading back to the room to watch the lights of the harbour. Breakfast on the other hand was a disaster. We sat for an hour and a half while watching kaos down below. Meals sitting on the counter for over 15 minutes while staff walked up and down the stairs empty handed. Other senior staff putting cutlery away with meals piling up behind and fuming patrons returning meals and walking out. When we finally got our food it was good and generous but the memory of the experience would strongly deter us from returning for breakfast and did taint the whole experience. The next morning was spent on the beach again and in the water which was great. I understand your reasons for no solar considering the heritage value but are you using renewable electricity? I’d also like to suggest you look into electric transport with low to zero emissions. Watching the endless journey of diesel vans going up and down the hills all day was a point of concern and must cost a considerable amount of fuel as well. It was a shame considering the location of our accommodation on The picturesque headland overlooking a stunning harbour. Thanks for the opportunity for the feedback. I’d like to hear of any improvement in regards to these suggestions. Cheers.

A unique experience staying in a national park. Rooms were comfy and in peaceful settings, shuttle buses always available to take you wherever you wanted to within Q Station, delicious meals in a historic building, only minutes away from Manly, lots of history to see, ghost tours, even had our own ghost experience in room!

Wonderful place. Great staff. Relaxing peaceful . Second stay enjoyed again

Rooms were nice - it's a shame we didn't get a water view but it was very quiet. Staff and service at the restaurant were a bit hit and miss. Very kind in lending us a plate etc for a picnic. Sat morning breakfast was very busy and food took a long time to come - there was clearly not enough staff. When we reminded the staff that we had ordered a coffee and it hadn't come - she said no one wanted the free coffee and there was a wait on the other coffee. Um I don't think anything was free - we all paid a fair bit of money. We never did get our coffee. We had to ask repetitively for water which is a bit ridiculous. Everything, breakfast and dinner just felt rushed and lacked an ambience of relaxation and the client first. Food was excellent though. Other than that it's a beautiful historical place you need to go to at least once. I would like to see more acknowledgement of the traditional custodians of the land.

Poor Service

I arrived with luggage and there was nowhere to leave and parking was at the opposite end of the carpark. Our first accommodation was next to the breakfast room and interiors were poor. The breakfast staff started setting up very early. Our next room was lovely but we were disappointed that we had to ask to be moved.

Overall a 'nice' experience in a great location. Rooms were clean and bright but very, very basic which I suppose is to be expected given the setting. Restaurant meal was amazing and the staff are fantastic. Bar food left a bit to be desired. Food was all fatty and didn't have great flavours. Cafe was pretty ordinary given there was really nowhere else to get a lunchtime meal. The main issue we had was with the small 'daily service'. All they did was replace the towels and coffee.....no clean glasses, top up water and the table wipe looked like they used a dirty cloth to do it. We did the ghost tour on Friday night and this was fantastic. Our guide (Terry) was great at setting the scene and the length of the tour was perfect. It helps when you have a couple of young 'believers' who were scared out of their wits...so funny!

Amazing history worthwhile experience visit and soaking up the atmosphere. Gorgeous grounds.

The greeting at reception was delightful and delivery to our room pleasant. The rooms are simple but adequate as the grounds and history are simply stunning and amazing all in one breath with the wildlife and stories that come to visit. The ghost tour was well worth the time and money but not for the faint hearted or physically infirm. The let down was the restaurant service and poor attitude big time the food was lovely but the waitstaff and management bitched and moaned about being busy and each other and blamed everything on the chefs. Poor chef. All apart from the delightful waitress we had Friday evening. I would love to do a time and motion study as they seem to try and hide from customers running up and down the stairs empty handed never filling a glass of water or offering another drink. It is such as shame as us guests couldn't wait to get out many eye rolling guests shrugged at each other during our time and the place was grotty with empty plates crumbs and puffing rude staff. The guests are a captured audience and would spend more on food and beverages if it were pleasant. Clean out the staff !!!! Office staff in reception and bus drivers were fun and professional a great face for Q Station

Our overnight stay at Q Station was an enjoyable break close to home. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed walking and exploring the site. Our meals at Boilerhouse were good, and we particularly enjoyed taking advantage of the private beach.

Got a great deal with luxury escapes for the whole family, included beautiful breakfasts, coffee and tour. Third time we have been here and have learnt even more every time we have been. Rooms are spacious and lovely and the staff are welcoming and willing to please. We are Sydneysiders who love a quick trip to Manly to relax! Thank you!

Had a wonderful experience. The only minor issue was breakfast on the Saturday the staff appeared to be overwhelmed, understandable though as I think a couple of casual staff members had not turned up.

We've been before so the site and facilities etc. wasn't a surprise. We booked the Romantic Getaway Package - good price for what's included. Two suggestions for improvement: 1) On booking the package we were asked to confirm booking time for dinner. We weren't asked to confirm booking time for breakfast. On check in we were asked, luckily preferred timeslot was available, but when we arrived for breakfast our booking was not in the system at Boulerhouse. 2) Our waitress noted all menu items for breakfast were covered by the getaway package. However we later found out barista coffee wasn't.
