I was happy with the room, the location and the facility. I think the only that let it down was that I had to wait more than an hour for a bottle of water. I actually had to call to follow up, so I'm not so confident it was ever going to arrive if I hadn't done so.

dissapointed with this stay

while my membership doesnt always guarantee a room upgrade, the stay this time just didnt come up to expectations. There was only one towel in the bathroom, which also had a number of paint chips and a sticking toilet cistern valve

Patience, patience, patience.

We booked a king room and got a twin. The check in line was out the door at 4.30pm and took about 20mins to check in and only slightly less to check out at 9.30am. $50 for parking is a lot, inner city hotel rooms should include parking. The room was ok, comfortable bed and a great location for the hotel.

We were fortunate to have stayed at Pullman King George over a Friday Saturday Sunday. Enjoyed the hospitality, good food and drink and assistance from the capable staff. We stayed on the top floor and enjoyed a quiet room thanks to the double glazing and location. The roof Top Bar 16 ANTLERS was great with a great party atmosphere and great views. The Team at the front desk were great. Allowing me to change my cars to attend a Car Meet. Thanks Clive very appreciated.

Accommodation was good but not very helpful front desk service

The day we were checking in we had news of a sudden family member death in North Qld and as we had driven to Brisbane we thought we’d at least stay the 1st night so we could be well rested and drive home the 2nd day to be with family. Upon arrival I had notified the front desk of our changed circumstances and advised we no longer required the 2nd night. Front desk advised that I was required to cancel with Qantas hotels which I then did straight away, Qantas said that’s fine and we’ll be refunded the 2nd night due to ample notice. I have just received an email from Qantas with the following response ‘After numerous requests, Mercure Brisbane King George Square will not agree to free cancellation. However, they are offer to place the remaining amount in credit valid until 31 Dec 2021.’ I was told by front desk (at check in) and by QF that there should be no issue with a refund due to ample notice and yet this has not been done. What am I required to do to rectify this?

We had a conference and whilst overall we were satisfied we felt very let down by the catering side of our event

Local Business - 08/06/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

The catering was poor - only two options for morning tea - one sweet and other savoury (cold) there was no confirming from staff that we would be breaking on time - we were late. There was a large quantity of sweet but not a lot of savoury - there was no sauce available and had to request sauce. Lunch sandwiches and one hot meal - the sandwiches was just two choice on repeat. Afternoon tea was served and taken away just as quickly - there was no consultation with us on whether we want to leave the afternoon for a while longer as some people where busy and hadn't had a chance to get afternoon tea - the other issues is that there was only one choice - not everyone eat cake maybe a piece of fruit on offer as well as the cake would have been an option - even if it was the left over fruit from lunch. So the cost per person - the catering had a lot to be desired. Very disappointed in that it was so limiting for the staff who didn't have dietary requirements and the staff that did have dietary requirements made comments that the food wasn't cook properly.

Check-in took such a long time & there were plenty of staff behind the desk. The Business Centre toilet stopped flushing & we had to request maintenance 3 times. The first time we reported it at the front desk, they said they would get it fixed. Then when we came back from lunch we told the Venue coordinator & she said she hadn't been told & would get it fixed. Next day, it stopped flushing again. Hotel room was nice but no disposable shower cap & the towels felt really thin & stiff. Had breakfast at Goldfinch, asked for the ala carte menu but the food ordered came straight from the bain-maries - scrambled eggs, toast & tomatoes. Had to ask for butter for the toast & the waitress came back with one packaged serve of butter which is not enough for two slices of toast.... Conference facilities were adequate. The cost of using the TV was ridiculous. We were quoted $300 just to use the TV - you can rent a hotel room with a TV in it for less.

First room heating was working, we were then moved to a room that was seemingly of a lower standard, basin in bathroom severely cracked, tiles in bathroom clearly need replacing, amenities in bathroom missing.

well located, friendly staff, but some age-old issues

Overall we were happy with our stay, but our 1st impression was not good. Firstly the darkness of our room was terrible (all the lights worked). Not just was light insufficient for reading any printed material, but it was so gloomy! The only decent light was if the sun was coming in the window. Paying $10/day for Wifi - archaic horrible little old fridge and no ice I also thought $50/day parking was pretty steep, although the valet parking was friendly and efficient. This was first impressions - the stay was OK because I couldn't fault the friendly staff, bed comfort and nice bathroom. Thought should be given to toiletries being in the refillable wall-mounted dispensers for environmental reasons. We travel a lot, predominantly in the regions, and I can say the accommodation we encounter there is streets ahead in these areas.

It was only an overnight, rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. However, for a hotel at this standard there was a lot missing, no mini bar, no shower caps and the towels felt like I was in a budget motel. Check in was lengthy, however, all the staff were friendly and did their best to be accommodating. Was attending a budget meeting and the toilet we needed to use, didn't flush, we alerted staff it was fixed then it broke again, it also had a hand towel instead of paper towel. One just got the feeling with this stay that they hotel is tightening the belt and scrimping wherever possible. To be fair it's maybe due to COVID

My only disappointment was that there was only 2 small milk in the fridge (suitable for 1 drink) & on the 2nd night, coming back from my meeting, the milk had not been restocked. I considered calling for some, but it was already passed 11pm & I was ready for a shower & tea before bed. So no milk for coffee the next morning either. The following night, there were again 2 small milks which was great for tea before bed, but it meant no milk for coffee the next morning. This was my only complaint & disappointment.

Great central location

A one night stay for a night out with friends at Gambaro's Seafood Restaurant. We decided to stay overnight here. Large room with a comfy king bed. Work desk area which was put to good use, bathroom was big but had our pet hate which is a shower bath. However, it is quite low set and not too deep so my wife who suffers from hip and knee issues managed to navigate it without too much trouble

Thank you for your feedback dannyi827, I hope that you both enjoyed Gambaro's!

emmanuelmus Business - 08/04/2021 TripAdvisor review

Was disappointed to be located right by the elevator from the get go, when I asked to change I was re-located to on of the lowest level and on the very busy street. Staff was not friendly and my Gold status did not make any difference (apparently because my company books through an Agent!). Toilets were leaking and therefore making a constant noise.

I am so sorry to hear that emmanuelmus. I hope that the team were able to assist in rectifying these issues for you? Please feel free to contact me directly when returning in future so that I can assure a seamless stay.
